Variability Management Mechanism for Domain Engineering and Case Study in SunRoof Control Domain

    Get PDF
This study aims to suggest variability mechanisms for software product line development and to explain the results of case study. Software product line engineering is an extension of software engineering and many organizations constantly engage in reengineering and refactoring to adopt the software product line engineering. Software product line engineering has two engineering processes: domain engineering process and application engineering process. Feature Identification and feature model are key success factor to construct variability model. Feature model describes the variable parts to be extended or replaced and common part to be reuse by themselves. Feature model gives the directions to the following architecture design and component implementation. However, feature model is not the design strategy and variability mechanism for product line implementation. Therefore, these are the obstacles for organizations that are unfamiliar with feature model and variability mechanism to adopt software product line engineering. Several variability mechanisms for software intensive software are suggested but these are not applicable for embedded software since it has different development process and structure. In this paper, variability elements in architecture design and component design of embedded software are identified as state variable, state transition information, and algorithm. Variability management mechanisms are defined for these elements. To provide the detail strategy and to evaluate the suggested variability management methods, process and results of real case study are described

Monomial Relization of Crystal Bases for Special Linear Lie Algebras

    Get PDF
We give a new realization of crystal bases for finite dimensional irreducible modules over special linear Lie algebras using the monomials introduced by H. Nakajima. We also discuss the connection between this monomial realization and the tableau realization given by Kashiwara and Nakashima.Comment: 15 page

In this paper, we give a new realization of crystal bases for finite dimensional irreducible modules over classical Lie algebras. The basis vectors are parameterized by certain Young walls lying between highest weight and lowest weight vectors.Comment: 27page

Supply and demand : brokerage as the new tango in home care

    Get PDF
The performance of home care globally is significantly impacted by the political reforms in the public and private sectors. This research investigated the Australian contexts of home care quality and the use of ā€œbrokerageā€ during times of change. The research utilised a qualitative post-structural approach to gather data about home care service provision through conducting semi-structured interviews of 10 Australian home care business leaders. What emerged in the discourse was how central to everyday practices was the need for business leaders to network and ā€˜dance a political tangoā€™ to ensure quality in service provision. Illuminated was how the leaders pushed back against governmental and economic structures by using models of brokerage to compensate for economic and staffing deficiencies. This is essential for the ongoing improvement and performance of home care in the Australian social arena of caring for our most vulnerable consumers. Ā© 2024 The Author(s). Nakajima monomials, Young walls and Kashiwara embedding for Uq(An(1))

AbstractIn this paper, we realize the crystal basis B(Ī») of the irreducible highest weight module V(Ī») of level 1 for Uq(An(1)) using Nakajima monomials satisfying some conditions. Also, from this monomial realization, we obtain the image of Kashiwara embedding ĪØĪ¹Ī»:B(Ī»)ā†ŖZāˆžāŠ—RĪ», where Ī¹ is some infinite sequence from the index set of simple roots. Finally, we give a Uq(An(1))-crystal isomorphism between Young wall realization and monomial realization, and so we can understand the image of Kashiwara embedding ĪØĪ¹Ī»:B(Ī»)ā†ŖZāˆžāŠ—RĪ» using the combinatorics of Young walls

Smart Roadside System for Driver Assistance and Safety Warnings: Framework and Applications

    Get PDF
The use of newly emerging sensor technologies in traditional roadway systems can provide real-time traffic services to drivers through Telematics and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITSs). This paper introduces a smart roadside system that utilizes various sensors for driver assistance and traffic safety warnings. This paper shows two road application models for a smart roadside system and sensors: a red-light violation warning system for signalized intersections, and a speed advisory system for highways. Evaluation results for the two services are then shown using a micro-simulation method. In the given real-time applications for drivers, the framework and certain algorithms produce a very efficient solution with respect to the roadway type features and sensor type use
