The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of transformational leadership style, transactional leadership style and autocratic leadership style on employee discipline in the Department of Language Center Bali Province. The methods of collection data is questionnaires, with a total population of 58 people. Sampling method is a method of census, with a total sample of 58 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed transformational leadership style, transactional leadership style and autocratic leadership style and a significant positive effect on the discipline of work in the Department of Language Center Bali Province

The Potential of Intercropping Food Crops and Energy Crop to Improve Productivity of a Degraded Agriculture Land in Arid Tropics

Degraded agricultural lands in the arid tropics have low soil organic carbon (SOC) and hence low productivity. Poor farmers that their livelihoods depend highly on these types of lands are suffering. Cropping strategies that are able to improve the soil productivity are needed. In the present study, some intercropping models of food crops with bio-energy crop of castor (Ricinus communis L.) were tested to assess their potential to improve the degraded land productivity. The intercropping models were: (1) castor - hybrid maize, (2) castor – short season maize, (3) castor – mungbean, and (4) castor –short season maize – mungbean. The results show that yields of the component crops in monoculture were relatively the same as in intercropping, resulted in a high Land Equivalent Ratio (LER). The highest LER (3.07) was calculated from intercropping castor plants with short season maize crops followed by mungbean with intercropping productivity of IDR 15,097,600.00 /ha. Intercropping has a great potential to improve degraded agriculture land productivity and castor is a promising plant to improve biodiversity and area coverage on the land

Successful castor (Ricinus communis L.) cropping depends on the reliability of production technique. Branching is a useful agronomic trait because infloresence developed at each branch's terminal. Pruning is considered as an important technique for branching stimulation. This study attempted to elucidate the effect of main stem pruning on the yield of Beaq Amor local variety of castor (Ricinus communis L.) with short cultivation system. The experiment was conducted on dry land area of Amor-Amor, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara during February-July 2011 and was arranged in a single-factor randomized complete block design with three replications. The treatments were four types of pruning (i.e. no pruning, main stem pruning at 30 days after planting, 45 days after planting, and 60 days after planting). The results showed that the effect of pruning was significant on dry seed yield and was not significant on kernel oil content. Pruning at 30 days old and 45 days old plant yielded in the highest dry seed weight (374.9-387.8 g tree-1 or 943.0-974.3 kg ha-1) with oil content of 62.2%

Yield of Jatropha Curcas L. Accessions of West Nusa Tenggara During Five a Year Production Cycle on a Degraded Agricultural Land

Competition between food crops and bioenergy crops in using agricultural lands should be avoided. Bioenergy crops such as Jatropha, should be grown on underutilized or degraded agricultural lands only to improve the land productivity and land coverage. Yield potential of five Jatropha curcas L. accessions of West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia was evaluated on a degraded agriculture land at district of Kayangan, North Lombok, Indonesia. The experiment was conducted using a Randomized Complete Block Design with three blocks, and 24 plants per plot of each accession for five years. Yield components showed significant differences among accessions. Better yield performance was showed by West Lombok, Sumbawa, and Bima accessions e.g. 6.004 kg/ha, 5.885 kg/haand 5.548 kg/haat five years of age respectively. However, the yearly yield improvement was reduced after the plant reached three years of age and it was not followed by a geometrical progression based on dichotomy brancing system of the Jatropha. The high yielding accessions have a good potential to be grown on degraded agricultural lands to produce bioenergy as well as to reduce soil erosion

The research was aimed at determining the effect of fishing techniques, handling facilities and method son the quality of the catch. The research employed four types of fishing gears, i.e. purse seine, cantrang, gillnet and boat-liftnet with five replicates each. Five species of the dominant catch were taken for qualitydetermination on-board, at landing sites, and after auctioning. The condition of handling facilities andmethods were evaluated. Fish transit time (time lapse between the fish lifting and auction process) was also determined. Results indicated that the fish quality decreased as the transit time increased. Nearly all fish caught were subjected to neither good handling nor low temperature despite the availability of good handling facilities. Nevertheles, the fish quality remained fairly good up to the point of soon after auctioning (pH\u27s7). When alone, none of the quality predictors affected the fish quality. However, when the fishing techniques were compounded the quality predictors significantly affected the fish quality. Regression analysis showed that, when the fishing techniques were uncompounded, 73.96% of the fish quality was determined by fishing with purse seine, cantrang, boatliftnet and fish transit time. When fishing techniques were compounded, however, the fishing techniques, on-board handling methods, on-board and on landing site handling facilities, and the fish transit time contributed 73.96% effect to the fish quality. The PCA analysis showed that as much as 52.52% and 27.27% the fish quality were determined by the purse seine and cantrang, respectively

Resistance and Effective Power on Various Casco Models of Purse Seiner

This study aimed to find out the magnitude of resistance and effective power onthe three casco models of purse seiner i.e. round bottom, round flat-bottom and U-V bottom. In the present study, we employed a numerical simulation using Holtrop and Mennenn method. To get the values of motion resistance and effective power on various purse seiner, it was used the purse seiner speed of 0-12 knot. We developed the simulation using 12 purse seiner sampling data which were operating in Makassar Strait. Simulation results indicated that the increasing main dimension of purse seiner was proportional to the increasing the magnitude of resistance and effective power. This study suggested that the round flat of casco model has greater resistance compared with the other casco model for purse seiner operating in Makassar Strait

Williamson Model: an Application of Institutional Transformation in the Indonesian Dgt

A reform of tax administration in Indonesia has been carried out in several stages from 1983to 2009. However, the changes are limited to the tax system of the DGT, it being the tax governingbody in Indonesia, which has still has not managed to meet the tax revenue target (reflectedthrough a tax ratio). A lack of authority caused the DGT (DGT) to face some difficulties inreaching the target and demonstrating the expected performance. The goal of this paper is tostress the needs of institutional transformation in DGT. By using the Williamson Model, thisstudy focuses on evaluating the DGT institutionally and creating an alternative institutionaltransformation of the DGT. The International and domestic results of ascertaining bestpractices conclude that the DGT needs to change gradually, not with a ‘big bang\u27, and byproviding the more flexible authority by remaining in the structure of Traditional Departmentor Single Directorate in the Ministry of Finance (SDMOF) which would lead to an organizationstructure which is semi-autonomous or a Unified Semi-autonomous Body (USB) that covers allthe systems of taxation such as service, assurance, law enforcement and supporting roles
