    Mihailo petrovic's work on development of military structures and equipment

    Analysed are the developments of military equipment and the impact of Mihailo Petrovic's inventions on them. Great contribution from the works of our scientists and inventors to the development of world science in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century is noted. The great mathematician, physicist and theorist believed that only the specific mechanisms and technical solutions, or how he used to say - materialized differential equations basically serve people. A presentation of his solutions and comparing them to the present state of knowledge has clarified him as an important pioneer in solving many technological problems. The aim of his inventions was primarily an attempt to solve the major problems of science and technology of his time. Always keeping in mind the ability to manufacture, he installed conventional industrial machine members into 'his mechanisms'. A review of his work from this perspective proves the significance of his solutions to future technical development, but at the same time the unreadiness of the industry to invest 'unsafe' regardless of their far-reaching benefits. Taking into account primarily the needs of the industry and its capabilities, Mihailo Petrovic solves vital problems and opens the way for new ideas and improves existing solutions. When talking about his ideas, we need to take into account the current needs of the industry, and also to prepare future developments and uncertainties

    Uloga robota u fleksibilnim proizvodnim sustavima

    The analysis of existing manufacturing capacities indicates that machining is to a large degree being done in a traditional manner, on universal machines. This way a universality of process is achieved ā€” a large assortment of mechanical elements can be machined. On the other hand, preparation time is long, capacity usage small, highly qualified labour needed. This paper presents the WCMA 25 manufacturing system in order to compare its operation with hitherto existing way of manufacture and show the advantages of robotized manufacturing systems. WCMA 25 is dedicated to metal manufacturing industry for higher complexity and accuracy work pieces made of cast iron, engineering steel and welded steel elements. By providing insight into results achieved by the system, this paper shows its advantages. Technoā€“economic indicators voice its ability to earn profit at limited-quantity production, because change of manufacturing programme does not imply any hardware change in the system. Its control unit has a data base big enough for machining a large variety of mechanical elements. The paper shows product price over quality ratio obtained on this system as a function of production quantity size and the tolerances chosen.Analiza postojećih kapaciteta ukazuje na to da se u velikoj mjeri obrada obavlja na klasičan način (na univerzalnim strojevima). Na ovaj način postiže se univerzalnost procesa (moguća je obrada velikog asortimana strojarskih elemenata). Sa druge strane pripremno vrijeme je veliko, iskoristivost kapaciteta mala, potrebna je visoko kvalificirana radna snaga. U radu je prikazan proizvodni sustav WCMA 25. s namjerom da se njegov rad usporedi sa dosadaÅ”njim načinom proizvodnje i predoče prednosti robotiniziranih proizvodnih sustava. Postrojenje je namijenjeno metalo prerađivačkoj industriji za obradu radnih predmeta od lijevanog željeza, konstrukcijskih čelika i zavarenih elemenata od čelika, veće složenosti i točnosti. Sagledavanjem rezultata koje sustav ostvaruje, u ovom radu su pokazane njegove prednosti. Tehno-ekonomski pokazatelji govore o njegovoj isplativosti pri malim serijama, jer izmjena programa obrade nije praćena nikakvim hardverskim promjenama u sustavu. Upravljačka jedinica sadrži dovoljnu bazu podataka potrebnih za obradu velikog broja različitih strojnih elemenata. Prikazan je odnos cijene i kvalitete proizvoda u zavisnosti od veličine serije i izabranih tolerancija dobiven na ovom sustavu

    Possibility of Hybrid Supply of Autonomous Military Units With Electric Power

    This paper presents one possible solution of hybrid electrical power supply for military units without electric connection to electric distribution network. The hybrid photovoltaic and diesel aggregates island's power supply with maximal power of 80 kW and daily energy of 400 kWh is shown in this paper. The advantages of this system are: reduced consumption of fossil fuels, efficient use of fossil fuels, reduced emissions, improved energy system reliability, ensuring continuous electric supply and increasing life of diesel engines. The working concept is such that hybrid system uses photovoltaic panels for prime power and diesel generators as a secondary source of energy. We expect creating such a system as a test installation, soon

    Some Possible Aplications Of Electric Drives in Military Vehicles

    The major advantages of electric propulsion compared to conventional power transmission drive of diesel engine to the wheels are presented and explained. It is in briefly showed development of some electrical vehicles in our country. The analysis of the electric drive showed some advantages of electric propulsion, such as operation without thermo emission of the vehicle, improved maneuvering and noiseless operating of the vehicle and saving fossil fuel. For any applications, hybrid vehicles have some good features of electric drive and vehicles with IC engines. Some military applications in the world of electric vehicle will be shown in this paper

    Robotics and Anthropological Research in Archaeology

    The application of robots in anthropological research in archeology is one of the new features for the introduction of automation in the creation of databases from different periods of cultural history. In this paper, we present the analysis on basis of conservation research on artifacts from the archaeological site of Kale-KrŔevica in Serbia (fourth century BC), where, during the creation of documentation revealed the possibility for a new class of data from the field of anthropology. Bearing in mind that around the world there are a large number of pottery and artifacts on which it could be done the same study, the introduction of robots that using modern methods of diagnosis would greatly could contribute to the developing of a new paradigm in archeology
