Comparison of personality characteristics of social-networks user and non-user girl students in District 1 high schools in Sanandaj City, Iran
BACKGROUND: Adolescence is one of the most active and exciting times in the family life cycle. Access to cyberspace (telegram and instagram) for teenagers and young people is increasing day by day. One of the factors that can play a role in using the internet is personality traits. The purpose of the present study was to compare the personality characteristics of social networks’ user and non-user female students of district 1 high schools in Sanandaj City, Iran.METHODS: The research was of a causal type with a practical purpose. The statistical population of the study consisted of all social networks’ user and non-user female students of high schools in district 1 of Sanandaj City in the academic year of 2017-2018. In order to do this research, 123 female high school students who were social networks users and 123 social networks’ non-user female high school students were selected randomly by random sampling. The tool used was HEXACO Personality Inventory-Revised (HEXACO-PI-R). The data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) using SPSS software.RESULTS: There was a significant difference between the two groups in the components of personality traits (honesty-humility, emotionality, extroversion, and openness to experience) (P < 0.050).CONCLUSION: Since prevention is prior to treatment, considering the results of this study, this phenomenon should be considered as an important social issue. And through proper education, the culture of proper use of social network and its facilities replaces the wrong methods
Comparing the psychological well-being and lifestyle of social networks user and non-user female students of high school in Sanandaj, Iran
BACKGROUND: Virtual networks are one of the social issues in the age of communication. The growing development of electronic communication networks among teens has brought about many tricks for the person. The purpose of this study was to compare the psychological well-being and lifestyle of social networks user and non-user female students of high school in district 1 of Sanandaj city, Iran.METHODS: The research was of a causal type with a practical purpose. The statistical population of the study consisted of all social network user and non-user female students of a high school in district 1 of Sanandaj city in the academic year of 2017-2018. In order to do this research, 123 female students who were social networks users and 123 non-user female students were selected randomly by random sampling. The tools used were Ryff’s psychological well-being scale (54-item version) and Miller-Smith lifestyle questionnaire. The data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) via SPSS software.RESULTS: The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of psychological well-being (personal growth and domination components) and lifestyle (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: The tendency towards social networks is associated with a reduction in the mental well-being and lifestyle. Moreover, access to them for teenagers and young people is increasing, and they are more at risk than other people. Therefore, it is needed to plan the necessary psychological well-being of adolescents
The effect of Emotional Intelligence, Self-Regulation and Assertiveness on Academic Satisfaction with mediation of Perceived Social Support in students of the second high school
The aim of this study was to determine the mediating Role of Perceived Social Support in Relationship between Academic Satisfaction, Emotional Intelligence, Self-Regulation and Assertiveness. The research method was correlation of the type path analysis. The statistical population included all high school students in Kermanshah, from which 384 people were selected as a statistical sample. The sampling method was Multistage sampling. In order to collect Data the Academic Satisfaction Questionnaire (ASQ), Schutte Self-Assessment Questionnaire, (SRI), Gambrill, Richey Assertion Inventory(AI), Multidimensional Perception Social Support Scale (MSPSS) and Bouffard self-regulatory questionnaire(BSF) were used. Data analysis was performed using path analysis statistical method and by the SPSS-24, and AMOS-22 software. Findings showed that emotional intelligence, self-regulation and assertiveness through perceived social support have an indirect and significant effect on academic satisfaction and the causal model of academic satisfaction is based on the The mentioned variables is significant. Due to the important role of satisfaction in academic success and achievement, it is suggested to families, teachers and educational institutions that more research be done to identify the factors affecting this variable to provide the necessary conditions to increase academic satisfaction
Predicting the performance anxiety of musicians based on coping strategies and emotional self-regulation with the mediation of the conscious mind
Background and Aims: Music performance Anxiety has been the focus of psychological research in recent years. The aim of this study was to develop a causal model for predicting music performance anxiety based on coping strategies and emotional self-regulation mediated by mindfulness.
Materials and Methods: In terms of implementation, this research is based on a communication model and is part of descriptive-correlational research. The statistical population of this study included all musicians, music teachers and music students in Kermanshah. A sample of 300 music students and musicians was available by sampling and selected online. In this study, to collect information related to answering research questions from 4 standard questionnaires of music performance anxiety (2004); Andler and Parker Coping Styles (1990); Garnfsky & Kreich (2002) emotional self-regulation and the pentagonal mindset of Bayer et al. (2000) were used. For inferential analysis of the data, the effects have been investigated using structural equation modeling and Smart PLS software.
Results: The results showed that emotion-oriented coping style had a positive and significant effect on music performance anxiety, problem-oriented coping style had a positive and significant effect on music performance anxiety, and avoidance-oriented coping style had a positive and significant effect on music performance anxiety. Also, positive emotional cognitive self-regulation had a negative and significant effect on music performance anxiety and negative emotional cognitive self-regulation had a positive and significant effect on music performance anxiety and a negative and significant effect between mindfulness and music performance anxiety.
Conclusion: It is important to pay attention to educating and informing musicians about coping strategies, emotional self-regulation and mindfulness.
