Potentials and applications of the following devices for solid surface characterization have been reviewed and demonstrated on solid polymer materials: flow microcalorimeter TAM 2277, ESA 8000, NanoScope III scanning force microscope, 1260 impedance analyzer, UV/VIS spectrometer Lambda 2, fluorescence spectrometer LS 50, mercury pressure porisimeter. Results obtained by these methods have been compared with those derived from other surface analytical methods.
