    Goal formulation and tracking in child mental health settings: when is it more likely and is it associated with satisfaction with care?

    Goal formulation and tracking may support preference-based care. Little is known about the likelihood of goal formulation and tracking and associations with care satisfaction. Logistic and Poisson stepwise regressions were performed on clinical data for N = 3757 children from 32 services in the UK (M age = 11; SDage = 3.75; most common clinician-reported presenting problem was emotional problems = 55.6%). Regarding the likelihood of goal formulation, it was more likely for pre-schoolers, those with learning difficulties or those with both hyperactivity disorder and conduct disorder. Regarding the association between goal formulation and tracking and satisfaction with care, parents of children with goals information were more likely to report complete satisfaction by scoring at the maximum of the scale. Findings of the present research suggest that goal formulation and tracking may be an important part of patient satisfaction with care. Clinicians should be encouraged to consider goal formulation and tracking when it is clinically meaningful as a means of promoting collaborative practice

    Utilizing redox-chemistry to elucidate the nature of exciton transitions in supramolecular dye nanotubes

    Supramolecular assemblies that interact with light have recently garnered much interest as well-defined nanoscale materials for electronic excitation energy collection and transport. However, to control such complex systems it is essential to understand how their various parts interact and whether these interactions result in coherently shared excited states (excitons) or in diffusive energy transport between them. Here, we address this by studying a model system consisting of two concentric cylindrical dye aggregates in a light-harvesting nanotube. Through selective chemistry we are able to unambiguously determine the supramolecular origin of the observed excitonic transitions. These results required the development of a new theoretical model of the supramolecular structure of the assembly. Our results demonstrate that the two cylinders of the nanotube have distinct spectral responses and are best described as two separate, weakly coupled excitonic systems. Understanding such interactions is critical to the control of energy transfer on a molecular scale, a goal in various applications ranging from artificial photosynthesis to molecular electronics.

    Position Sensitive Single Wire Proportional Counter with Electrodes for Increasing Electric Field Strength

    A position sensitive single wire proportional counter (PS-SWPC) with supplemental electrodes is studied for developing a focal plane detector of a magnetic spectrograph. These electrodes increase the electric field at the position away from the anode wire in the counter in order to accelerate the drift velocity of electrons generated by the incident radiation. Characteristics of electron drift and detection efficiency for filling gas mixtures (Ar-CH4 and Ne-CH4) are investigated. As a result, we obtained sufficient time characteristics for PS-SWPC
