1ST EVIDENCE OF OMEGA-C(0)- > OMEGA- PI+
We report evidence of a narrow resonance at a mass of 2705.9 \ub1 3.3 \ub1 2.0 MeV/c2 in the final state Omega 12\u3c0+ and the charge conjugate. The mass and width support the interpretation of a weakly decaying doubly strange charmed baryon, the Omegac0. Limits on the relative branching ratios for Omegac0\u2192Omega 12K 12\u3c0+\u3c0+ and Omegac0\u2192Omega- pi 12pi+pi+ are also presented
A High statistics study of states containing heavy quarks using the wide band photon beam and the E-687 multiparticle spectrometer.
The spectrometer used in Fermilab experiment 687 to study the photoproduction
and decay of charm particles will be upgraded to enable it to accumulate 10**6 fully reconstructed charm particles. The physics will involve high precision studies of the D semileptonic decays, QCD studies of double D events, a measurement of the absolute branching fraction for the D0, searches for the D0 mixing, CP violation, rare and forbidden decays, fully leptonic decays of the D+ and a systematic investigation of charm baryons and their lifetimes
ANALYSIS OF THE DECAY MODE D+ -> anti(K*0) MU+NU
Fermilab high-energy photoproduction experiment E687 provides a high statistics sample of the decay mode D+ \u2192 anti(K 170) mu+nu (charge conjugates are implied). Our analysis yields a branching ratio of Gamma (D+ \u2192 anti(K 170)mu+\u3bd)/Gamma(D+ \u2192 K 12pi+pi+) = 0.56\ub10.04\ub10.06. The ratios of the form factors governing the decay are measured to be R\u3bd = 1.74 \ub10.27\ub10.28 and R2 = 0.78\ub10.18\ub10.10, implying a polarization of Gammal/Gammat = 1.20\ub10.13 \ub10.13 for the electron decay. Finally, we report new limits on the decay modes D+ \u2192 K-pi+mu+nu (nonresonent) and D+ \u2192 anti(K 170) pi0 mu+nu
Semileptonic charmed meson decays.
Results on the semileptonic channels: Do→K+μ−ν+c.c. and D+→K∗oμ+ν+c.c., photoproduced in the E687 experiment at Fermilab, are presented. A preliminary measurement of Γ(Do→K∗−μν)/Γ(D+→K∗oμν) is also discussed
