Angles from B Decays with Charm: Summary of Working Group 5 of the CKM Workshop 2006
We summarize the results presented in Working Group 5 (WG5) of the CKM 2006
Workshop in Nagoya. The charge of WG5 was to discuss the measurements of
unitarity triangle angles and from -meson

B --> pi and B --> K transitions in partially quenched chiral perturbation theory
We study the properties of the B-->pi and B-->K transition form factors in
partially quenched QCD by using the approach of partially quenched chiral
perturbation theory combined with the static heavy quark limit. We show that
the form factors change almost linearly when varying the value of the sea quark
mass, whereas the dependence on the valence quark mass contains both the
standard and chirally divergent (quenched) logarithms. A simple strategy for
the chiral extrapolations in the lattice studies with Nsea=2 is suggested. It
consists of the linear extrapolations from the realistically accessible quark
masses, first in the sea and then in the valence quark mass. From the present
approach, we estimate the uncertainty induced by such extrapolations to be
within 5%.Comment: Published versio
Cohesive energies of cubic III-V semiconductors
Cohesive energies for twelve cubic III-V semiconductors with zincblende
structure have been determined using an ab-initio scheme. Correlation
contributions, in particular, have been evaluated using the coupled-cluster
approach with single and double excitations (CCSD). This was done by means of
increments obtained for localized bond orbitals and for pairs and triples of
such bonds. Combining these results with corresponding Hartree-Fock data, we
recover about 92 \% of the experimental cohesive energies.Comment: 16 pages, 1 figure, late
Two component dark matter
We explain the PAMELA positron excess and the PPB-BETS/ATIC e+ + e- data
using a simple two component dark matter model (2DM). The two particle species
in the dark matter sector are assumed to be in thermal equilibrium in the early
universe. While one particle is stable and is the present day dark matter, the
second one is metastable and decays after the universe is 10^-8 s old. In this
model it is simple to accommodate the large boost factors required to explain
the PAMELA positron excess without the need for large spikes in the local dark
matter density. We provide the constraints on the parameters of the model and

Higgs to mu tau Decay in Supersymmetry without R Parity
In this letter, we report on lepton flavor violating Higgs decay into mu+tau
in the framework of the generic supersymmetric standard model without R parity
and list interesting combinations of R-parity violating parameters. We impose
other known experimental constraints on the parameters of the model and show
our results from the R-parity violating parameters. In our analysis, the
branching ratio of Higgs to mu+tau can exceed 10^{-5} within admissible

B-->pi and B-->K transitions in standard and quenched chiral perturbation theory
We study the effects of chiral logs on the heavy-->light pseudoscalar meson
transition form factors by using standard and quenched chiral perturbation
theory combined with the static heavy quark limit. The resulting expressions
are used to indicate the size of uncertainties due to the use of the quenched
approximation in the current lattice studies. They may also be used to assess
the size of systematic uncertainties induced by missing chiral log terms in
extrapolating toward the physical pion mass. We also provide the coefficient
multiplying the quenched chiral log, which may be useful if the quenched

Dark Matter attempts for CoGeNT and DAMA
Recently, the CoGeNT collaboration presented a positive signal for an annual
modulation in their data set. In light of the long standing annual modulation
signal in DAMA/LIBRA, we analyze the compatibility of both of these signal
within the hypothesis of dark matter (DM) scattering on nuclei, taking into
account existing experimental constraints. We consider the cases of elastic and
inelastic scattering with either spin-dependent or spin-independent coupling to
nucleons. We allow for isospin violating interactions as well as for light
mediators. We find that there is some tension between the size of the
modulation signal and the time-integrated event excess in CoGeNT, making it
difficult to explain both simultaneously. Moreover, within the wide range of DM
interaction models considered, we do not find a simultaneous explanation of
CoGeNT and DAMA/LIBRA compatible with constraints from other experiments.
However, in certain cases part of the data can be made consistent. For example,
the modulation signal from CoGeNT becomes consistent with the total rate and
with limits from other DM searches at 90% CL (but not with the DAMA/LIBRA
signal) if DM scattering is inelastic spin-independent with just the right
couplings to protons and neutrons to reduce the scattering rate on xenon.
Conversely the DAMA/LIBRA signal (but not CoGeNT) can be explained by
spin-dependent inelastic DM scattering.Comment: 20 pages, 9 figure
