Signature of Quantum Hall Effect Skyrmions in Tunneling: A Theoretical Study
We present a theoretical study of the tunneling characteristic between
two parallel two-dimensional electron gases in a perpendicular magnetic field
when both are near filling factor . Finite-size calculations of the
single-layer spectral functions in the spherical geometry and analytical
expressions for the disk geometry in the thermodynamic limit show that the
current in the presence of skyrmions reflects in a direct way their underlying
structure. It is also shown that fingerprints of the electron-electron
interaction pseudopotentials are present in such a current.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur
Sibling Caretaking Among Mexican American Youth
VAQUITA allows developers to reverse engineer a presentation model of a web page according to multiple reverse engineering options. The alternative models offered by these options not only widen the spectrum of possible presentation models but also encourage developers in exploring multiple reverse engineering strategies. The options provide filtering capabilities in a static analysis of HTML code that are targeted either at multiple widgets simultaneously or at single widgets at a time, for their attributes and other manipulations. This flexibility is particularly important when the presentation model is itself used to migrate the presentation of the web page to other types of user interfaces, possibly written in different languages, in different computing platforms
Measurement of the B hadron energy distribution in Z0 decays
We have measured the B hadron energy distribution in Z0 decays using a sample
of semi-leptonic B decays recorded in the SLD experiment at SLAC. The energy of
each tagged B hadron was reconstructed using information from the lepton and a
partially reconstructed charm-decay vertex. We compared the scaled energy
distribution with several models of heavy quark fragmentation. The average
scaled energy of primary B hadrons was found to be = 0.716 +- 0.011
(stat.) +0.022 -0.021 (syst.).Comment: replaces previous version with improved PS figure
