Tubular occlusion prevents water-treeing and through-and-through fluid movement in a single-bottle, one-step self-etch adhesive model
Water entrapment occurs at resin-dentin interfaces of one-step self-etch adhesives. We hypothesized that by preventing water fluxes from dentin, any water entrapment would be attributed to incomplete removal of adhesive solvents. We tested this hypothesis by bonding to transparent carious dentin containing occluded dentinal tubules. An experimental single-bottle, one-step self-etch adhesive was applied to flat surfaces of caries-affected dentin surrounded by sound dentin, with or without pulpal pressure. Resin-dentin interfaces were examined with TEM after silver-impregnation. Although caries-affected dentin was highly porous, adhesive layers were devoid of silver deposits when tubules were occluded. Conversely, variable extents of water-treeing and water-droplets were identified from adhesive layers in bonded sound dentin. Water-treeing and water-droplet formation, being manifestations of evaporative and convective water fluxes, can be eliminated during bonding to occluded transparent carious dentin. Measurement of direct photon emission in decay using stopped positive kaons

been measured with stopped positive kaons. A sample
containing 4k events was analyzed, and the branching ratio
of the direct photon emission process was determined to be . No interference pattern with internal

Single Production in Collisions at the NLC
Single production in collisions at the NLC can be used to
probe the Majorana nature of the heavy neutrinos present in the Left-Right
Symmetric Model below the kinematic threshold for their direct production. For
colliders in the TeV range, typical cross sections of order
are obtained, depending on the specific choice of model parameters.
Backgrounds arising from Standard Model processes are shown to be small. This
analysis greatly extends the kinematic range of previous studies wherein the

Measurement of K^+ \to \pi^0 \mu^+ \nu \gamma decay using stopped kaons
The K^+ \to \pi^0 \mu^+ \nu \gamma () decay has been
measured with stopped positive kaons at the KEK 12 GeV proton synchrotron. A
sample containing 125 events was obtained. The partial

First measurement of the T-violating muon polarization in the decay K^+ --> mu^+ nu gamma
We present the result of the first measurement of the T-violating muon
polarization P_T in the decay K^+ --> mu^+ nu gamma. This polarization is
sensitive to new sources of CP-violation in the Higgs sector. Using data
accumulated in the period 1996-98 we have obtained P_T = (-0.64 +- 1.85(stat)
+- 0.10(syst))x10^{-2} which is consistent with no T-violation in this decay.Comment: 11 pages, 8 figure

In vitro analysis of durability of S-PRG filler-containing composite crowns for primary molar restoration
Objective: To evaluate the reliability, maximum principal stress, shear stress, and crack initiation of a computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) resin composite (RC) incorporating surface pre-reacted glass (S-PRG) filler for primary molar teeth. Methods: Mandibular primary molar crowns fabricated by experimental (EB) or commercially available CAD/CAM RCs (HC) were prepared and cemented to a resinous abutment tooth using an adhesive resin cement (Cem) or a conventional glass-ionomer cement (CX). These specimens were subjected to a single compressive test (n = 5/each) and the step-stress accelerated life testing (SSALT) (n = 12/each). Data was evaluated using Weibull analyses and reliability was calculated. Afterwards, the maximum principal stress and crack initiation point of each crown was analyzed by finite element analysis. To evaluate bonding of EB and HC to dentin, microtensile bond strength (μTBS) testing was conducted using primary molar teeth (n = 10/each). Results: There was no significant difference between the fracture loads of EB and HC for either cement (p > 0.05). The fracture loads of EB-CX and HC-CX were significantly lower than EB-Cem and HC-Cem (p 0.05). Significance: The crowns fabricated with the experimental CAD/CAM RC incorporating S-PRG filler yielded greater fracture loads and reliability than the crowns manufactured with commercially available CAD/CAM RC regardless of the luting materials.
