Generalised CP and Family Symmetry
We perform a comprehensive study of family symmetry models based on
combined with the generalised CP symmetry . We investigate the
lepton mixing parameters which can be obtained from the original symmetry
breaking to different remnant symmetries in the
neutrino and charged lepton sectors. We find that only one case is
phenomenologically viable, namely in the neutrino sector and in the charged lepton sector, leading to the
prediction of no CP violation, namely and the Majorana phases
and are all equal to either zero or . We then
propose an effective supersymmetric model based on the symmetry in which trimaximal lepton mixing is predicted together with
either zero CP violation or with non-trivial
Majorana phases. An ultraviolet completion of the effective model yields a
neutrino mass matrix which depends on only three real parameters. As a result
of this, all three CP phases and the absolute neutrino mass scale are
determined, the atmospheric mixing angle is maximal, and the Dirac CP can
either be preserved with or maximally broken with
and sharp predictions for the Majorana phases and
neutrinoless double beta decay.Comment: 38 pages, 3 figure
Generalized reflection symmetry and leptonic CP violation
We propose a generalized reflection symmetry to constrain the
lepton flavor mixing parameters. We obtain a new correlation between the
atmospheric mixing angle and the "Dirac" CP violation phase
. Only in a specific limit our proposed CP transformation
reduces to standard reflection, for which and
are both maximal. The "Majorana" phases are predicted to lie at
their CP-conserving values with important implications for the neutrinoless
double beta decay rates. We also study the phenomenological implications of our
scheme for present and future neutrino oscillation experiments including T2K,
NOA and DUNE.Comment: 14 pages, 9 figures, latex, Final version to appear in Physics

Warped flavor symmetry predictions for neutrino physics
A realistic five-dimensional warped scenario with all standard model fields
propagating in the bulk is proposed. Mass hierarchies would in principle be
accounted for by judicious choices of the bulk mass parameters, while fermion
mixing angles are restricted by a flavor symmetry broken on the
branes by flavon fields. The latter gives stringent predictions for the
neutrino mixing parameters, and the Dirac CP violation phase, all described in
terms of only two independent parameters at leading order. The scheme also
gives an adequate CKM fit and should be testable within upcoming oscillation
experiments.Comment: 19 pages, 2 figue
Canonical Charmonium Interpretation for Y(4360) and Y(4660)
In this work, we consider the canonical charmonium assignments for Y(4360)
and Y(4660). Y(4660) is good candidate of state, the
possibility of Y(4360) as a state is studied, and the
charmonium hybrid interpretation of Y(4360) can not be excluded completely. We
evaluate the leptonic widths, E1 transitions, M1 transitions and
the open flavor strong decays of Y(4360) and Y(4660). Experimental tests for
the charmonium assignments are suggested.Comment: 32 pages, 4 figure
Thermal radiation in non-static curved spacetimes: quantum mechanical path integrals and configuration space topology
A quantum mechanical path integral derivation is given of a thermal
propagator in non-static Gui spacetime. The thermal nature of the propagator is
understood in terms of homotopically non-trivial paths in the configuration
space appropriate to tortoise coordinates. The connection to thermal emission
from collapsing black holes is discussed.Comment: 20 pages, major revised version, 9 figures, new titl
Overcoming Language Dichotomies: Toward Effective Program Comprehension for Mobile App Development
Mobile devices and platforms have become an established target for modern
software developers due to performant hardware and a large and growing user
base numbering in the billions. Despite their popularity, the software
development process for mobile apps comes with a set of unique, domain-specific
challenges rooted in program comprehension. Many of these challenges stem from
developer difficulties in reasoning about different representations of a
program, a phenomenon we define as a "language dichotomy". In this paper, we
reflect upon the various language dichotomies that contribute to open problems
in program comprehension and development for mobile apps. Furthermore, to help
guide the research community towards effective solutions for these problems, we
provide a roadmap of directions for future work.Comment: Invited Keynote Paper for the 26th IEEE/ACM International Conference

Systematics of g factors of 2_1^+ states in even-even nuclei from Gd to Pt: A microscopic description by the projected shell model
The systematics of g factor of first excited 2^+ state vs neutron number N is
studied by the projected shell model. The study covers the even-even nuclei of
all isotopic chains from Gd to Pt. g factors are calculated by using the
many-body wavefunctions that reproduces well the energy levels and B(E2)'s of
the ground-state bands. For Gd to W isotopes the characteristic feature of the
g factor data along an isotopic chain is described by the present model.
Deficiency of the model in the g factor description for the heavier Os and Pt
isotopes is discussed.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figure
Symmetry of Traveling Wave Solutions to the Allen-Cahn Equation in \Er^2
In this paper, we prove even symmetry of monotone traveling wave solutions to
the balanced Allen-Cahn equation in the entire plane. Related results for the
unbalanced Allen-Cahn equation are also discussed
