How to achieve robustness against scaling in a real-time digital watermarking system for broadcast monitoring

    Get PDF
In the European Esprit project VIVA (Visual Identity Verification Auditor) a real-time digital watermarking system for broadcast monitoring has been investigated and implemented. On top of the usual requirements for watermarks, the VIVA watermarking system has to satisfy an additional number of constraints. One of the most important constraints in a broadcast environment is the robustness of the watermark against scaling. This paper describes how robustness against scaling is achieved in the VIVA project. Furthermore, a real-time implementation of the algorithms is discussed. Experimental results prove the effectiveness of the algorithms

An implementation of a real-time digital watermarking process for broadcast monitoring on a trimedia processor.

The implementation of a real-time digital watermark embedder and detector for television broadcast monitoring is addressed. A TriMedia processor with 4 BOPS (billion operations per second) is used for a software implementation. The performance of the system is tested in a laboratory environment under real-time conditions. The results prove the feasibility of a professional broadcast surveillance system, which is the aim of a European Esprit project named VIVA (visual identity verification auditor)

"Fries like" rearrangement: a novel and efficient method for the synthesis of 6-acyl-2(3H)-benzoxazolones and 6-acyl-2(3H)-benzothiazolones

6-Acyl-2(3H)-benzoxazolone and 6-acyl-2(3H)-benzothiazolone derivatives have particularly interesting anti-inflammatory, antiepileptic, analgesic and antiviral properties. in this study, we report an original method of acylation on the 6-position of 2(3H)-benzoxazolone and 2(3H)-benzothiazolone which consists in a two-step procedure involving migration of the acyl group from the N-position to the 6-position of the heterocycle, at 165 degrees C and catalyzed by AlCl3. This new procedure was found to be more efficient with regard to the consumption of AlCl3 and the yield (76-90%) than other acylation methods previously described. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
