    Radiative Semileptonic Kaon Decays

We evaluate the matrix elements for the radiative kaon decays K+→l+νlγK^+ \to l^+\nu_l\gamma, l+νll′+l′−l^+ \nu_l l'^+ l'^- and K→πlνlγK \to \pi l \nu_l\gamma \ (l, l′=e,μl,\ l' = e,\mu) to next-to-leading order in chiral perturbation theory. We calculate total rates and rates with several kinematical cuts and confront the results with existing data. Measurements at future kaon facilities will allow for a more detailed comparison between theory and experiment.Comment: LaTeX, 40 pages, 5 figures (not included), CERN-TH 6625/92, BUTP-92/3

Renormalization of chiral perturbation theory to order p^6

    Get PDF
The renormalization of chiral perturbation theory is carried out to next-to-next-to-leading order in the meson sector. We calculate the divergent part of the generating functional of Green functions of quark currents to O(p^6) for chiral SU(n), involving one- and two-loop diagrams. The renormalization group equations for the renormalized low-energy constants of O(p^6) are derived. We compare our results with previous two-loop calculations in chiral perturbation theory.Comment: 43 pages, LaTeX2e, 1 figur

    Long distance contribution to K+→π+ννˉK^+ \to \pi^+ \nu {\bar \nu} decay and O(p4)O(p^4) terms in CHPT

The long distance contribution to K+→π+ννˉK^+ \to \pi^+ \nu {\bar \nu} is calculated using chiral perturbation theory. The leading contribution comes from O(p4)O(p^4) tree terms. The branching ratio of the O(p4)O(p^4) long distance contribution is found to be of order 10−310_{-3} smaller than the short distance contributions.Comment: 12 pages, 1 figure (available upon request

    Role of Scalar Meson Resonances in $K_{L}^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{0} \gamma \gamma Decay

Corrections to KL0→π0γγK_{L}^{0}\rightarrow \pi^{0} \gamma \gamma decay induced by scalar meson exchange are studied within chiral perturbation theory. In spite of bad knowledge of scalar-mesons parameters, the calculated branching ratio can be changed by a few percent.Comment: 18 pages of text, 2 figures (available upon request); preprint IJS-TP-16-94 , TUM-T31-63-94

Renormalization of the antisymmetric tensor field propagator and dynamical generation of the 1+−1^{+-} mesons in Resonance Chiral Theory

We discuss the renormalization of the 1−−1^{--} vector meson propagator within Resonance chiral theory at one loop. Using the particular form of the interaction Lagrangian we show that additional poles of the renormalized propagator corresponding to 1+−1^{+-} degrees of freedom can be generated. We give a concrete example of such an effect.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, to appear in Proceedings of the conference QCD 08, Montpellier, 7-12 July 200

Anatomy of Mixing-Induced CP Asymmetries in Left-Right-Symmetric Models with Spontaneous CP Violation

    Get PDF
We investigate the pattern of CP violation in K, B_d and B_s mixing in a symmetrical SU(2)_R x SU(2)_L x U(1) model with spontaneous CP violation. We calculate the phases of the left and right quark mixing matrices beyond the small phase approximation and perform a careful analysis of all relevant restrictions on the model's parameters from Delta m_K, Delta m_B, epsilon, epsilon'/epsilon and the CP asymmetry in B->J/psi K_S. We find that, with current experimental data, the mass of the right-handed charged gauge boson, M2, is restricted to be in the range 2.75 to 13 TeV and the mass of the flavour-changing neutral Higgs boson, MH, in 10.2 to 14.6 TeV. This means in particular that the decoupling limit M2, MH -> infinity is already excluded by experiment. We also find that the model favours opposite signs of epsilon and sin 2beta and is excluded if sin 2beta > 0.1.Comment: 33 pages Latex with 11 Postscript-Figures (included

Curvature estimates for Weingarten hypersurfaces in Riemannian manifolds

We prove curvature estimates for general curvature functions. As an application we show the existence of closed, strictly convex hypersurfaces with prescribed curvature FF, where the defining cone of FF is \C_+. FF is only assumed to be monotone, symmetric, homogeneous of degree 1, concave and of class C^{m,\al}, m≥4m\ge4.Comment: 9 pages, v2:final version, to be publishe
