The authors present a clinical case of a female patient with seropositive rheumatoid polyarthritis mainly affecting the knee joints. The patient underwent a primary total bilateral knee replacement. Surgical site infection required multiple revisions including replacement of extensive bone defects of AORI type 3 by structural femur and tibia allografts as well as allografting of extensor mechanism. Repeated attempts to eliminate infection, to gain support ability of extremities and joints motion were not successful. Long-term staged surgical treatment resulted in removal of prostheses and bilateral knee arthrodesis to restore support function of the extremities.

    Using the 1.9pb11.9 pb^{-1} of data collected with the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M the decay mode ϕηγ\phi \to \eta \gamma, ηπ+ππ0\eta \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 has been studied. The obtained branching ratio is B(ϕηγ)=(1.18±0.03±0.06)\phi \to \eta \gamma) = (1.18 \pm 0.03 \pm 0.06) %.Comment: 13 pages, 5 figures, LaTex2e, to be published in Phys. Lett.

    Study of the Process e+eKL0KS0e^+e^- \to K^0_L K^0_S in the C.M.Energy Range 1.05-1.38 GeV with CMD-2

The process e+eKL0KS0e^+e^- \to K^0_L K^0_S has been studied with the CMD-2 detector using about 950 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.05 to 1.38 GeV. The cross section exceeds the expectation based on the contributions of the rho(770), omega(782) and phi(1020) mesons only.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures, uses elsart.cls, submitted to Physics Letters

First observation of the ϕπ+πγ\phi\to\pi^+\pi^-\gamma decay

Radiative decays of the ϕ\phi meson have been studied using a data sample of about 20 million ϕ\phi decays collected by the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M collider in Novosibirsk. From selected e+eπ+πγe^+e^-\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\gamma events the ϕπ+πγ\phi\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\gamma decay has been observed for the first time. \par Under the assumption that the intermediate f0(980)γf_{0}(980)\gamma state dominates in the ϕπ+πγ\phi \to \pi^+\pi^-\gamma decay, the corresponding branching ratio is Br(ϕf0(980)γ)=(1.93±0.46±0.50)×104Br(\phi\to f_{0}(980)\gamma)=(1.93\pm 0.46\pm 0.50)\times10^{-4}. \par Selected e+eμ+μγe^+e^-\to\mu^+\mu^-\gamma events were used to obtain Br(ϕμ+μγ)=(1.43±0.45±0.14)×105Br(\phi\to\mu^+\mu^-\gamma) =(1.43\pm 0.45\pm 0.14)\times10^{-5} for Eγ>20E_{\gamma}>20 MeV. \par Using the same data sample, upper limits at 90% CL have been obtained for the C-violating decay of the ϕ\phi: Br(ϕργ)<1.2×105Br(\phi\to\rho\gamma) < 1.2\times10^{-5}; and for the P- and CP-violating decay of the η\eta: \par Br(ηπ+π)<3.3×104Br(\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-) < 3.3\times10^{-4}.Comment: 16 pages, 10 figures, Submitted to Phys. Radiative decays of the ϕ\phi meson have been studied using a data sample of about 19 million ϕ\phi decays collected by the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M collider in Novosibirsk. From selected e+eπ0π0γe^+e^-\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma and e+eηπ0γe^+e^-\to\eta\pi^{0}\gamma events the following model independent results have been obtained: \par Br(ϕπ0π0γ)=(0.92±0.08±0.06)×104Br(\phi\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma) = (0.92\pm 0.08\pm0.06)\times10^{-4} for Mπ0π0>700M_{\pi^{0}\pi^{0}}>700 MeV, \par Br(ϕηπ0γ)=(0.90±0.24±0.10)×104Br(\phi\to\eta\pi^{0}\gamma) = (0.90\pm 0.24\pm 0.10)\times10^{-4}. It is shown that the intermediate mechanism f0(980)γf_{0}(980)\gamma dominates in the ϕπ0π0γ\phi\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma decay and the corresponding branching ratio is \par Br(ϕf0(980)γ)=(2.90±0.21±1.54)×104Br(\phi\to f_{0}(980)\gamma)=(2.90\pm 0.21\pm1.54)\times10^{-4}. The systematic error is dominated by the possible model uncertainty. \par Using the same data sample the upper limit has been obtained for the P- and CP-violating decay of η\eta at 90% CL: \par Br(ηπ0π0)<4.3×104Br(\eta\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}) < 4.3\times10^{-4} >.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, Submitted to Phys.
