Power Line Communication Technologies: Modeling and Simulation of PRIME Physical Layer
Power Line Communications is a relatively new
area of telecommunication. PLC employs full duplex methods
for transmitting data over power lines as medium of
transmission of electrical signals over a grid. PLC technologies
are used in advanced meter reading, home automation and
Public street lighting. Several PLC technologies classified
based on the operational frequency range, are explored in this
paper. PRIME is a new NBPLC system, which uses OFDM in
its physical layer, for power line communication in the last
mile. This work also focused on PRIME’s physical
specifications, which was modeled in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
In this paper, the performance of PRIME when its data is
modulated using DQPSK and 4-QAM in four (4) channel
models is shown.
Quark model description of the tetraquark state X(3872) in a relativistic constituent quark model with infrared confinement
We explore the consequences of treating the X(3872) meson as a tetraquark
bound state. As dynamical framework we employ a relativistic constituent quark
model which includes infrared confinement in an effective way. We calculate the
decay widths of the observed channels X-> Jpsi+2\pi (3\pi) and X-> \bar
D0+D0+\pi0 via the intermediate off--shell states X-> Jpsi+\rho(\omega) and X->
\bar D + D*. For reasonable values of the size parameter of the X(3872) we find
consistency with the available experimental data. We also discuss the possible
impact of the X(3872) in a s-channel dominance description of the
Jpsi-dissociation cross section.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures; discussion and references added, accepted in

Spectral stability of metric-measure Laplacians
We consider a "convolution mm-Laplacian" operator on metric-measure spaces and study its spectral properties. The definition is based on averaging over small metric balls. For reasonably nice metric-measure spaces we prove stability of convolution Laplacian's spectrum with respect to metric-measure perturbations and obtain Weyl-type estimates on the number of eigenvalues
Effects of perturbative exchanges in a QCD-string model
The QCD-string model for baryons derived by Simonov and used for the
calculation of baryon magnetic moments in a previous paper is extended to
include also perturbative gluon and meson exchanges. The mass spectrum of the
baryon multiplet is studied. For the meson interaction either the pseudoscalar
or pseudovector coupling is used. Predictions are compared with the
experimental data. Besides these exchanges the influence of excited quark
orbitals on the baryon ground state are considered by performing a multichannel
calculation. The nucleon-Delta splitting increases due to the mixing of higher
quark states while the baryon magnetic momenta decrease. The multichannel
calculation with perturbative exchanges is shown to yield reasonable magnetic

Correlation Differences in Heartbeat Fluctuations During Rest and Exercise
We study the heartbeat activity of healthy individuals at rest and during
exercise. We focus on correlation properties of the intervals formed by
successive peaks in the pulse wave and find significant scaling differences
between rest and exercise. For exercise the interval series is anticorrelated
at short time scales and correlated at intermediate time scales, while for rest
we observe the opposite crossover pattern -- from strong correlations in the
short-time regime to weaker correlations at larger scales. We suggest a
physiologically motivated stochastic scenario to explain the scaling
differences between rest and exercise and the observed crossover patterns.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
On the S-wave piD-scattering length in the relativistic field theory model of the deuteron
The S-wave scattering length of the strong pion-deuteron (pi D) scattering is
calculated in the relativistic field theory model of the deuteron suggested in
[1,2].The theoretical result agrees well with the experimental data. The
important role of the Delta-resonance contribution to the elastic pi
