    Bamboo is one of the non-timber forest products (NTFPs) used for various needs by the people of Rawak Hilir Village, Sekadau Hulu District, Sekadau Regency. Aims of the study was to obtain data on the use of bamboo by the people of Rawak Hilir Village. The benefits of this research are expected to be used as a source of information regarding the types and forms of bamboo utilization in Rawak Hilir Village. This study used a survey method with direct interview techniques. Data collection used a list of questions or questionnaires in the form of questions directed at several respondents. A sampling at the research location was carried out using purposive sampling, namely, respondents with extensive knowledge about the local name of bamboo and the benefits of bamboo. One hundred thirty-nine people were used as respondents. Based on the results in the field, 7 species of bamboo were obtained, namely Muntik (Schizostachyum sp), Aor (Bambusa blumeana J.A.&J.H.Schulz), Buluh (Schyzostachyum brachycladum Kurz), Botong (Dendrocalamus asper (Schult)Backer ex Heyne), Porin (Gigantochloa levis Blanco), Porin Anyang (Gigantochloa balui K.M. Wong ), and Pensak (Bambusa multiplex (Lour)ReauschJ.A.& Schult). Found 4 species of bamboo utilized by the people of Rawak Hilir Village, Sekadau Hulu District, Sekadau Regency, namely as handicraft, consumption, construction, and ritual/traditional ceremonial materials.Keywords: Bamboo, Community, Non-Timber Forest Products, Rawak Hilir Village, UtilizationAbstrakBambu merupakan salah satu hasil hutan bukan kayu (HHBK) yang dimanfaatkan dalam berbagai kebutuhan oleh masyarakat desa Rawak Hilir Kecamatan Sekadau Hulu Kabupaten Sekadau. Oleh karena itu,  penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data pemanfaatan bambu oleh masyarakat Desa Rawak Hilir. Manfaat penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai sumber informasi mengenai jenis serta bentuk pemanfaatan bambu di Desa Rawak Hilir. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan teknik wawancara secara langsung. Pengumpulan data menggunakan alat bantu yaitu daftar pertanyaan atau kuisioner berupa bentuk-bentuk pertanyaan yang diarahkan kepada sejumlah responden. Pengambilan sampel di lokasi penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan purposive sampling, yaitu responden yang memiliki pengetahuan luas mengenai nama lokal bambu dan manfaat bambu, masyarakat yang dijadikan responden sebanyak 139 orang. Berdasarkan hasil di lapangan, diperoleh 7 jenis bambu yaitu Muntik (Schizostachyum sp), Aor (Bambusa blumeana), Buluh (Schizostachyum brachycladum), Botong (Dendrocalamus asper), Porin (Gigantochloa levis), Porin anyang (Gigantochloa balui), dan Pensak (Bambusa multiplex). Ditemukan 4 jenis pemanfaatan bambu oleh masyarakat Desa Rawak Hilir Kecamatan Sekadau Hulu Kabupaten Sekadau yaitu sebagai bahan kerajinan, bahan konsumsi, bahan kontruksi, dan bahan ritual/ upacara adat.Kata kunci: Bambu, Masyarakat, Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu, Desa Rawak Hilir, Pemanfaatan

    Exact and optimal quadratization of nonlinear finite-dimensional non-autonomous dynamical systems

    Quadratization of polynomial and nonpolynomial systems of ordinary differential equations is advantageous in a variety of disciplines, such as systems theory, fluid mechanics, chemical reaction modeling and mathematical analysis. A quadratization reveals new variables and structures of a model, which may be easier to analyze, simulate, control, and provides a convenient parametrization for learning. This paper presents novel theory, algorithms and software capabilities for quadratization of non-autonomous ODEs. We provide existence results, depending on the regularity of the input function, for cases when a quadratic-bilinear system can be obtained through quadratization. We further develop existence results and an algorithm that generalizes the process of quadratization for systems with arbitrary dimension that retain the nonlinear structure when the dimension grows. For such systems, we provide dimension-agnostic quadratization. An example is semi-discretized PDEs, where the nonlinear terms remain symbolically identical when the discretization size increases. As an important aspect for practical adoption of this research, we extended the capabilities of the QBee software towards both non-autonomous systems of ODEs and ODEs with arbitrary dimension. We present several examples of ODEs that were previously reported in the literature, and where our new algorithms find quadratized ODE systems with lower dimension than the previously reported lifting transformations. We further highlight an important area of quadratization: reduced-order model learning. This area can benefit significantly from working in the optimal lifting variables, where quadratic models provide a direct parametrization of the model that also avoids additional hyperreduction for the nonlinear terms.     Direct shear tests: experimental setup based on a labview approach – experimental results in a silty sand soil

    This work describes an experimental setup that was developed in order to automate the direct shear Tests, to characterize the strength of soils. This experimental setup assures repeatability in the data acquisition, avoiding human errors, mainly when the tests data vary with a high dynamic. The described setup is based on LabVIEW, LVDT sensors and a 16 Bit Data Acquisition Board. For the direct shear Test it was used an apparatus, covered in ASTM standard D-3080 / D3080M - 11, ”Standard Method for direct shear test on soils under consolidated drained conditions”. This paper exposes the applicability study of the direct shear test to an existing silty sand soil, from the city of Braganza, Portugal, with the purpose to verify the applicability of this test with this instrumented apparatus.     This study is aimed to investigate the influence of deferred tax and institusional ownership on earning management. This research used the sample of manufactur industries listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange during 2010-2013 period. The number of manufactur industries sampled in this study were 78 companies with 4 years observation. Based on purposive sampling method, sample consist of 312 financial statement in this research. Hypothesis in this research are tested by logistic regression analytical method.Based on sample, the result show that deferred tax negative-significantly influence to earning management and institusional ownership negative-significantly influence to earning management
