Macroscopic Interferences of Neutrino Waves
Interference phenomena of neutrinos are studied. High energy neutrino in T2K
near detector and low energy neutrino in KamLAND are possible experiments that
could show macroscopic interferences of neutrino waves. In both experiments
interference patterns may give new insights on the absolute value of the
neutrino mass.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figure
Pressure, Resistance, and Current Activation of Anisotropic Compressible Hall States
Thermodynamic and electric properties of anisotropic compressible Hall states
at higher Landau levels are studied using a mean field theory on the von
Neumann lattice basis. It is shown that resistances agree with the recent
experiments of anisotropic compressible states and the states have negative
pressure. As implications, the collapse phenomena of the integer quantum Hall
effect are discussed.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures, to be published in Physica
Berry Curvature on the Fermi Surface: Anomalous Hall Effect as a Topological Fermi-Liquid Property
The intrinsic anomalous Hall effect in metallic ferromagnets is shown to be
controlled by Berry phases accumulated by adiabatic motion of quasiparticles on
the Fermi surface, and is purely a Fermi-liquid property, not a ``bulk'' Fermi
sea property like Landau diamagnetism, as has been previously supposed. Berry
phases are a new topological ingredient that must be added to Landau
Fermi-liquid theory in the presence of broken inversion or time-reversal
symmetry.Comment: 4 pages, 0 figures; to appear in Physical Review Letters; cleaner
form of main formula+note added confirming continued validity of result in
interacting Fermi liquids: + improved summary paragraph stating result; final
published version (minor changes
