The increasing premarital sexual behavior impact on pregnancy outside marriage. Researchproblem was whether factors associated with premarital sexual behavior of college studentsSTIKes Medistra Indonesian in Jakarta in 2011. Research purpose to know the eff ect ofpredisposing factors (personality, self-concept, knowledge, attitudes, and religiosity), reinforcingfactors (the role of peers, family roles, and attitudes of students' teacher to personal mentoringon adolescent reproductive health) and enabling factors (student residence) behavior premaritalsexual students. Quantitative research methods with cross sectional design. Subjects were studentsaged ≤ 24 years old and not married in STIKes Medistra Indonesia Jakarta in 2011, totaling 582respondents. Total sampling technique using correlation and regression analysis with α=0.05.Th e results showed there were three variables in predisposing factors have a signifi cant infl uenceon premarital sexual behavior of students that character, self-concept, and attitude. 2% strengthcharacter, 2% self-concept, and 15% attitude toward students premarital sexual behavior. Th econclusions, the factors aff ecting premarital sexual behavior of students were character, selfconcept, and attitude

“No good man will ever want me”. How structural social inequality increases women’s vulnerability to HIV transmission: a qualitative study from Bandung, Indonesia

Understanding the pathways that expose women to HIV transmission are vital in improving HIV prevention, especially among a “hidden” group of women without pre-established known risk for HIV. We investigated the pathways which place certain women at greater risk for HIV in a qualitative exploratory study with theoretical sampling using an emergent theory study design in an urban setting in Indonesia. We conducted semi-structured interviews with 47 HIV-infected women, one focus group discussion with five young women who occassionally engage in sex work, participant observation at six sex work venues and two midwife clinics, and 11 informal interviews with midwives, nurses, and obstetricians. Our research found that many women not characterized as belonging to a “high-risk group” or “key population” were nevertheless at increased risk for HIV. A history of sexual abuse, premarital sex, divorce, or involvement in sex work, often precipitated by poverty coupled with discriminatory public health policies further heightened women’s exposure to HIV. While reaching at-risk populations is a key strategy in HIV prevention, a novel and more tailored approach is needed to reach more hidden categories of women with less apparent risk behavior yet considerable risk for HIV infection

Natural localized corrosion of steel bar in 44-years old cracked RC structures exposed to marine tidal environment

Normally, the mechanism of chloride induced corrosions in the real structures are quite complex. In some cases, locally separated anodically and cathodically acting steel surface areas are formed on reinforcing bar of RC structures. As the cathodically acting steel surface areas are not visible, the corrosion mechanisms can only be investigated indirectly using electrochemical methods. In this paper, experimental study was carried out to identify the natural corrosion formation on cracked 44 years old RC structures exposed to actual marine environment. Visual observation of the defective appearance of concrete and electrochemical measurement were conducted to predict the probability of deterioration stage. The highest corrosion risk was found on the middle tensile part and inspection of actual steel bar condition in its area was conducted. The natural localized corrosions were clearly established on the middle tensile steel bar of pre-cracked RC beam due to the initial cracks on the structures accelerated the generation of macrocell corrosion current
