Quantum Painlev\'e II Lax Pair and Quantum (Matrix) Analogues of Classical Painlev\'e II equation

In this article, we present a new quantum Painlev\'e II Lax pair which explicitly involves the Planck constant \hbar and an arbitrary field variable vv so these two objects make this new pair different from Flaschka-Newell Painlev\'e II Lax pair and that pair appears as particular case of our's pair which consolidates the Painlev\'e II equation from quantum mechanical point of view. It is shown that the compatibility of quantum Painlev\'e II Lax pair simultaneously yields a quantum Painlev\'e II equation and a quantum commutation relation between field variable vv and independent variable zz. We manifest that with the different choices of arbitrary field variable system reduces to its classical version, matrix Painlev\'e II equation and derivative matrix Painlev\'e II equation. Further, we construct the gauge equivalence of quantum Painlev\'e II Lax pair whose compatibility condition gives rise to quantum p34 equation that involves \hbar with power +1+1 which makes our system more quantized as compared to the existed one that carries \hbar with power +2+2

    Get PDF
Introduction: Prolactinomas are the most common pituitary adenomas. Medical therapy with dopamine agonists (DA) is the mainstay of treatment and rarely requires surgical manipulation. Patients may rarely present with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea after starting therapy with DA in case of massive or invasive prolactinomas. Case Description: We present a case of a 29-year-old lady with invasive prolactinoma who presented with CSF rhinorrhea after a month of starting bromocriptine therapy with the development of meningitis and warranting early surgical repair. Practical Implications: Patients with macroprolactinoma should be closely monitored initially after starting on dopamine agonists to avoid life-threatening complications

REMOVAL OF FLUORIDE FROM DRINKING WATER THROUGH LOW-COST TECHNIQUES

    Get PDF
Fluoride ions (F-) from natural sources or industrial wastewater are the main cause of many pathological conditions in people living in more than 25 countries. Thus, removing F- from drinking water is pivotal for preventing serious health consequences. The WHO recommends a limit of 1,5 mg/L for fluoride in drinking. Excessive amounts of fluoride in drinking water are prevalent in Pakistan, leading to related health risks. Low-cost techniques for the defluoridation of drinking water can be used. In this study, the removal of fluoride from drinking water by an adsorption method using low-cost materials/adsorbents, such as marble chips, wheat husks, rice husks, egg shells, concrete, fuller earth, fly ash, freshly fired bricks, and charcoal, at different contact times and different bed thicknesses were investigated. A batch sampling technique was used for sample collection. On average, marble chips, wheat husks, rice husks, egg shells, concrete, fuller earth, fly ash, freshly fired bricks, and activated charcoal (rice husk) resulted in 71,99 %; 90,99 %; 66,73 %; 90,99 %; 63,30 %; 71,99 %; 22,60 %; 49,67 %; and 90,13 % fluoride removal, respectively. Therefore, defluoridation using these materials is desirable. The performance of adsorbents depends on parameters such as contact time, depth of the adsorbent media, and pH. The bed thickness of the adsorbent has a minor effect on fluoride removal. The major contributors to fluoride removal from water are contact time and adsorbent composition

Reconstruction of symmteric teleparallel gravity with energy conditions

This research investigates the impact of modified gravity on cosmic scales, focusing on f(Q)f(Q) cosmology. By applying energy conditions, the study reconstructs various f(Q)f(Q) models, considering an accelerating Universe, quintessence, and a cosmological constant Λ\Lambda. Using up-to-date observational data, including the Supernova Pantheon sample and cosmic chronometer data, Hubble constants H0H_0 are estimated as 70.370.92+0.8470.37^{+0.84}_{-0.92} km/sec/Mpc (from H(z)H(z) data) and 70.020.25+0.4470.02^{+0.44}_{-0.25} km/sec/Mpc (from pantheon compilation of SN Ia data). The matter energy density parameter (Ω0m\Omega_{0m}) is calculated as 0.260.0100.0150.26^{0.015}_{-0.010}(OHD) and 0.270.0140.0250.27^{0.025}_{-0.014}(SN Ia). Furthermore, as a function of redshift zz, explicit expressions of f(Q)f(Q) and the EOS parameter ω\omega are produced, and their graphical analysis describes the late time acceleration of the Universe without the usage of dark energy.Comment: 11 pages, 7 Figure

Patient communication in radiology: current status of breaking bad news among radiologists and radiology trainees in Pakistan

    Get PDF
Breaking bad news can be an intimidating task for any physician. The aim of this study was to record the practices of breaking bad news to the patients by Pakistani radiologists and trainees. The radiologists and trainees attending the 26th National Radiological Conference in October 2010 in Karachi, Pakistan, were surveyed. The response rate was 76%. The respondents included residents (51%), private practicing radiologists (28%), academic radiologists (13%), and other trainees (8%). Most of the academic radiologists communicated with their patients. The daily frequency of breaking bad news by residents was noted, which was highest in the public teaching hospitals (71%). For severe abnormalities such as malignancy, 50% residents, 55% of the academic radiologists and 74% of the private practicing radiologists were very uncomfortable in disclosure of results. Differences in frequency of communication with patients were noticed with both different training levels, and different settings of practice in a developing country

The Role of Psychological Capital in Academic Adjustment among University Students

    Get PDF
To investigate the potential of psychological capital as a resource for academic adjustment, 511 BBA students were asked to complete two questionnaires, one assessing participants’ psychological capacity, the other academic adjustment. Average grade-point scores were collected at two points in time as an additional measure of academic adjustment. Correlational as well as SEM analyses suggest that psychological capital is a positive resource with a central role in students’ academic adjustment. The study extends knowledge on the impact of psychological capital on positive organizational behavior by generalizing it to higher education

Introduction: group of diseases that is originated from the different parts of ovaries and cause production of abnormal cells that divide uncontrolled themselves in the ovaries is known as ovarian cancer. OC is mainly classified into majorly three types on the base of three components of ovaries known as epithelium, stroma and germinal cells. Approximately, 7000 women develop OC and 4200 of them die every year in UK. In Pakistan the incidence of OC is increasing at the rate of around 13.6%. Approximately 70% cases are diagnosed at later stages. Methodology: The blood sample was collected by Layyah region. The CA125 identification through Elisa technique for their better identification on the basis of antibodies. Normal values of CA125 were considered less than 35 U/ml. the other tumor marker was also measured such as fibrinogen, prolactin, CA15.3, PT, APTT, INR, D Dimer, and CA19.9. Results: The mean age of patients was 59.0 ± 8.1while the minimum and maximum age at which the tumor marker detection was 22 and 74 years. The no of patient was found in order of 25 >24 > 10 in 1st, 2nd and 3rd age groups, respectively. The clinical histopathological test in the ovarian cancer patients show that the tumor size 5.21 ± 3.42, fibrinogen 5.09 ± 1.29, CA-199 (U/mL) 121.17 ± 59.76, and D-dimer 0.61 ± 0.31. The CA-125 level increase in ovarian cancer patients it indication as a tumor marker

TSH is a hormone that is secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland and stimulates the secretions of the thyroid gland. Its secretions are controlled by the TSH-R on the epithelial cells of the thyroid gland. It controls the production of the thyroxin hormone from the thyroid gland that is involved in the production of heat and energy. But the excessive amount of this hormone leads to the hair fall in some of the peoples. Hyperthyroidism correlates with the human skin and hair structure and its function. In the case of hyperthyroidism hair bulb cell proliferation increases and hence hair fall rate also increases. While in the case of hypothyroidism the bulb cell proliferation reduces and so, hair fall increases. Samples from different regions of the south Punjab were taken that were analyzed by the special chemistry analyzer (minividas). The concentrations of the T4, T3, and TSH were measured. Some of the alopecia patients were recorded high-level TSH. The patients were treated with thyroxin tablets that reduce TSH level. After that, the patients are also treated with hair fin tab, folli one shampoo, wistin tab, and multivitamins. Now the patients were observed with a microscope. The growth of hair follicles and hairs was recorded. Hence, the thyroxin tab uses to decrease the TSH level in the body for 1 month. Hair fin tab, folli one shampoo, wistin tab, and multivitamins are the best treatment methods for the growth of hairs in alopecia patients
