ESPECIES DE LA FAMILIA SCARABAEIDAE ASOCIADAS A PLANTACIONES DE YUCA EN LA PROVINCIA CIEGO DE ÁVILA, CUBA

El trabajo se realizó en la empresa Agroindustrial Ceballos durante  el período de tiempo  comprendido entre mayo de 2012 y julio de 2016. Se colocaron trampas  de luz blanca  en las  plantaciones de la  Yuca, utilizando metodologías de  Sisne,  2009  y MINAG, 1985 para identificar la composición  de especies del orden Coleoptera familia Scarabaeidae asociadas a estos agroecosistemas. Se determinó que las especies  Cyclocephala cubana Chapin, Athyreus tridentatus McL., Phyllophaga dissimilis Chev., Anomala calceata Chev., Strategus sarpedon (Burm.) y Oniticellus cubiensis están asociadas plantaciones de  Yuca

Violent Governance, Identity and the Production of Legitimacy: Autodefensas in Latin America

This article examines the intersections of violence, governance, identity and legitimacy in relation to autodefensas (self-defence groups) in Latin America, focusing on Mexico and Colombia. By shifting focus from the question of where legitimacy lies to how it is produced and contested by a range of groups, we challenge the often presumed link between the state and legitimacy. We develop the idea of a field of negotiation and contestation, firstly, to discuss and critique the concept of state failure as not merely a Western hegemonic claim but also a strategic means of producing legitimacy by autodefensas. Secondly, we employ and enrich the notion of violent pluralism to discuss the pervasiveness of violence and the role of neoliberalism, and to address the question of non-violent practices of governance. We argue that the idea of a field of contestation and negotiation helps to understand the complexity of relationships that encompass the production of legitimacy and identity through (non)violent governance, whereby lines between (non)state, (non)violence, and (il)legitimacy blur and transform. Yet, we do not simply dismiss (binary) distinctions as these continue to be employed by groups in their efforts to produce, justify, challenge, contest and negotiate their own and others’ legitimacy and identity

ESPECIES DE LA FAMILIA SCARABAEIDAE ASOCIADAS AL NARANJO VALENCIA EN LA PROVINCIA CIEGO DE ÁVILA / SPECIES OF THE SCARABAEIDAE FAMILY ASSOCIATED WITH NARANJO VALENCIA IN CIEGO DE AVILA PROVINCE

La investigación se realizó en áreas de producción de la Empresa Agroindustrial Ceballos durante el período comprendido entre mayo de 2015 y julio de 2019 con el objetivo de identificar la composición de especies del orden Coleoptera, familia Scarabaeidae asociadas a las plantaciones de Naranjo Valencia de estos agroecosistemas. Se colocaron trampas de luz blanca, en el horario comprendido entre las 8:00 y las 11:00 pm, en plantaciones de este cultivo cítrico pertenecientes a la entidad durante el período de vuelo estacional de esta familia. Los insectos atraídos y capturados se conservaron en un recipiente con alcohol al 70 % y se trasladaron al Centro de Investigaciones Agropecuarias de la Universidad Central de las Villas donde se identificaron mediante las claves taxonómicas correspondientes. Las especies del orden Coleoptera, familia Scarabaeidae identificadas como asociadas a este cultivo en la provincia Ciego de Ávila fueron Cyclocephala cubana Chapin, Anomala calceata Chev. y Phyllophaga patruelis Chev

A white light trap was placed in bananas plantations, according to Sisne, 2009 and MINAG, 1985, in the Citric enterprise of Ciego de Ávila during the period between May and July of 2010 with the objective of determining the composition of genus and species of the order Coleoptera family Scarabaeidae associated to the agroecosystem. The species Cyclocephala cubana Chapin, Phyllophaga puberula Duval, and Phyllophaga patruelis Chev. are associated to bananas crops in these areas

A white light trap was placed in Carica papaya L. plantations, as Sisne, 2009 and MINAG, 1985 establishes, in the Citric Enterprise of Ciego de Ávila during the period between º May and July of 2010 with the objective of determining the composition of genus and species of the order Coleoptera family Scarabaeidae associated to the agroecosystem. The species. Cyclocephala cubana Chapin, Anomala calceata Chev. y Phyllophaga crenaticollis Blanch are associated to Carica papaya L. crops in these areas

Se colocó una trampa de luz blanca en las plantaciones de la Guayaba (Psidium guajava L.), según establece Sisne, 2009 y MINAG, 1985, en la Empresa Cítricos de Ciego de Ávila durante el período comprendido entre mayo y julio del año 2010 con el objetivo de determinar la composición de géneros y especies del orden Coleoptera familia Scarabaeidae asociadas al agroecosistema. Se determinó que las especies Cyclocephala cubana Chapin, Phyllophaga puberula Duval, y Phyllophaga patruelis Chev. están asociadas al cultivo de la Guayaba en estas áreas

Insects of the Sacarabaeidae family associated with guava (Psidium guajava L.) in Ceballos, Ciego de Ávila, Cuba

Was performed a diagnosis to identify the species of the Scarabaeidae family present in guava cultivation, to determine the distribution and ecological indices of abundance and relative frequency of species associated with the cultivation. The sampling was carried out by light traps, in 35 fields of guava, in five Basic Units of Production and a small property, all belonging to the Ceballos Agroindustrial Enterprise, between May 2013 and June 2015. It was determined that the species of the Scarabaeidae family associated with the cultivation, were Cyclocephala cubana Chap., Phyllophaga patruelis Chev., Phyllophaga puberula Duval, Phyllophaga pilositarsis Blackwelder, Anomala calceata Chev., Strategus sarpedon Burm., Digitonthophagus gazella Fabricius and Dyscinetus picipes Burm. The most abundant species were C. cubana 60% (very abundant) and A. calceata Chev. with 10 % (abundant). The species C. cubana, P. patruelis, P. puberula, P. pilositarsis, A. calceata and S. sarpedon, were very frequent, while D. gazella and D. picipes were frequent in guava cultivation
