Phytohaemagglutinin on maternal and umbilical leukocytes
Almost all the umbilical lymphocytes showed more extensive blast cell formation
than that of their mother's lymphocytes with PHA. Pathological conditions of mother in pregnancy and labor such as anemia, gestational toxicosis,
difficult labor and asphyxia of babies, inhibited the normal response of both maternal and umbilical lymphocytes to PHA.</p
Finite-temperature Mott transitions in multi-orbital Hubbard model
We investigate the Mott transitions in the multi-orbital Hubbard model at
half-filling by means of the self-energy functional approach. The phase
diagrams are obtained at finite temperatures for the Hubbard model with up to
four-fold degenerate bands. We discuss how the first-order Mott transition
points and as well as the critical temperature depend
on the orbital degeneracy. It is elucidated that enhanced orbital fluctuations
play a key role to control the Mott transitions in the multi-orbital Hubbard
model.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figure
Magnetism and domain formation in SU(3)-symmetric multi-species Fermi mixtures
We study the phase diagram of an SU(3)-symmetric mixture of three-component
ultracold fermions with attractive interactions in an optical lattice,
including the additional effect on the mixture of an effective three-body
constraint induced by three-body losses. We address the properties of the
system in by using dynamical mean-field theory and variational Monte
Carlo techniques. The phase diagram of the model shows a strong interplay
between magnetism and superfluidity. In the absence of the three-body
constraint (no losses), the system undergoes a phase transition from a color
superfluid phase to a trionic phase, which shows additional particle density
modulations at half-filling. Away from the particle-hole symmetric point the
color superfluid phase is always spontaneously magnetized, leading to the
formation of different color superfluid domains in systems where the total
number of particles of each species is conserved. This can be seen as the SU(3)
symmetric realization of a more general tendency to phase-separation in
three-component Fermi mixtures. The three-body constraint strongly disfavors
the trionic phase, stabilizing a (fully magnetized) color superfluid also at
strong coupling. With increasing temperature we observe a transition to a
non-magnetized SU(3) Fermi liquid phase.Comment: 36 pages, 17 figures; Corrected typo
Disorder-driven quantum phase transition from antiferromagnetic metal to insulating state in multilayered high-Tc cuprate (Cu,C)Ba2Ca4Cu5Oy
We report on superconducting(SC) characteristics for oxygen-reduced Cu-based
five-layered high-temperature superconductor (Cu,C)Ba2Ca4Cu5Oy(Cu-1245(OPT)),
which includes five-fold outer planes (OP) and four-fold inner planes (IP).As a
result of the reduction of the carrier density, the bulk SC for Cu-1245 (OPT)
takes place at the nearly optimally-doped OP with Tc= 98 K that is different
from previously-reported Cu-1245(OVD) where IP plays a primary role for the
onset of SC. It gives an evidence that the carrier density of the
optimally-doped layer determines its bulk Tc.Static antiferromagnetic(AFM)
order is evidenced at IP's by zero-field Cu-NMR at low temperature,
irrespective of the SC transition at OP's below 98K. This AFM state at IP's is
characterized by a carrier localization at low temperatures due to disorder
effect, whereas the carrier densities in each layer are similar to Hg-1245(OPT)
where the AFM metallic state are realized in IP's. This finding reinforces the
phase diagram in which the AFM metallic phase exists between AFM insulator and
SC states for the case of ideally-flat CuO2 plane without disorder.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
Metal-insulator transition in the two-orbital Hubbard model at fractional band fillings: Self-energy functional approach
We investigate the infinite-dimensional two-orbital Hubbard model at
arbitrary band fillings. By means of the self-energy functional approach, we
discuss the stability of the metallic state in the systems with same and
different bandwidths. It is found that the Mott insulating phases are realized
at commensurate band fillings. Furthermore, it is clarified that the orbital
selective Mott phase with one orbital localized and the other itinerant is
stabilized even at fractional band fillings in the system with different
bandwidths.Comment: 7 pages, 10 figure
Antiferromagnetic phase transition in four-layered high-T_c superconductors Ba_2Ca_3Cu_4O_8(F_yO_{1-y})_2 with T_c=55-102 K: Cu- and F-NMR studies
We report on magnetic characteristics in four-layered high-T_c
superconductors Ba_2Ca_3Cu_4O_8(F_yO_{1-y})_2 with apical fluorine through Cu-
and F-NMR measurements. The substitution of oxygen for fluorine at the apical
site increases the carrier density (N_h) and T_c from 55 K up to 102 K. The NMR
measurements reveal that antiferromagnetic order, which can uniformly coexist
with superconductivity, exists up to N_h = 0.15, which is somewhat smaller than
N_h = 0.17 being the quantum critical point (QCP) for five-layered compounds.
The fact that the QCP for the four-layered compounds moves to a region of lower
carrier density than for five-layered ones ensures that the decrease in the
number of CuO_2 layers makes an interlayer magnetic coupling weaker.Comment: 7 pages, 6 gigures, Submitted to J. Phys. Soc. Jp
High-T_c Superconductivity with T_c = 52 K under Antiferromagnetic Order in Five-layered Cuprate Ba_2Ca_4Cu_5O_10(F,O)_2 with T_N = 175 K: 19F- and Cu-NMR Studies
We report on the observation of high-T_c superconductivity (SC) emerging with
the background of an antiferromagnetic (AFM) order in the five-layered cuprate
Ba_2Ca_4Cu_5O_10(F,O)_2 through 19F-NMR and zero-field Cu-NMR studies. The
measurements of spectrum and nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rates 19(1/T_1) of
19F-NMR give convincing evidence for the AFM order taking place below T_N = 175
K and for the onset of SC below T_c = 52 K, hence both coexisting. The
zero-field Cu-NMR study has revealed that AFM moments at Cu sites are 0.14 mu_B
at outer CuO_2 layers and 0.20 mu_B at inner ones. We remark that an intimate
coupling exists between the AFM state and the SC order parameter below T_c = 52
K; the spin alignment in the AFM state is presumably changed in the SC-AFM
mixed state.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, to be published in Journal of the Physical

Weak and strong electronic correlations in Fe superconductors
In this chapter the strength of electronic correlations in the normal phase
of Fe-superconductors is discussed. It will be shown that the agreement between
a wealth of experiments and DFT+DMFT or similar approaches supports a scenario
in which strongly-correlated and weakly-correlated electrons coexist in the
conduction bands of these materials. I will then reverse-engineer the realistic
calculations and justify this scenario in terms of simpler behaviors easily
interpreted through model results. All pieces come together to show that Hund's
coupling, besides being responsible for the electronic correlations even in
absence of a strong Coulomb repulsion is also the origin of a subtle emergent
behavior: orbital decoupling. Indeed Hund's exchange decouples the charge
excitations in the different Iron orbitals involved in the conduction bands
thus causing an independent tuning of the degree of electronic correlation in
each one of them. The latter becomes sensitive almost only to the offset of the
orbital population from half-filling, where a Mott insulating state is
invariably realized at these interaction strengths. Depending on the difference
in orbital population a different 'Mottness' affects each orbital, and thus
reflects in the conduction bands and in the Fermi surfaces depending on the
orbital content.Comment: Book Chapte
Electronic states around a vortex core in high-Tc superconductors based on the t-J model
Electronic states around vortex cores in high-Tc superconductors are studied
using the two-dimensional t-J model in order to treat the d-wave
superconductivity with short coherence length and the antiferromagnetic (AF)
instability within the same framework. We focus on the disappearance of the
large zero-energy peak in the local density of states observed in high-Tc
superconductors. When the system is near the optimum doping, we find that the
local AF correlation develops inside the vortex cores. However, the detailed
doping dependence calculations confirm that the experimentally observed
reduction of the zero-energy peak is more reasonably attributed to the
smallness of the core size rather than to the AF correlation developed inside
the core. The correlation between the spatial dependence of the core states and
the core radius is discussed.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
