    This Researh was aimed to determine growth and the best paddy rice variety with cultivation approacment and of jajar legowo and tegel system. The research was conducted at the farmer\u27s wet rice field in Sikek village, Rimba Melintang subdistrict, Rokan Hilir regency and start from Juni to October 2014. This research utilized Randomized Blok Design (RBD) factorial, The first factor was paddy rice, consist of 4 varieties: Inpara 4, Inpari 30, IR 64 and Situ Bagendit. The second factor was cultivation approachment, consist of jajar legowo and tegel system. The treatment consist of 8 combination with 3 replication so obtained 24 plot units. Parameters observed were the plant height, number of total tillers, number of productive tillers, age out of tassel, long of tassel, harvest, amount of grain per tassel, amount of dry grain per plot, percentage of unhusked grain per plot and weight of 1000 grains. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The data were further tested by Duncan new multiple range test (DNMRT) at the level 5%. The research result showed that planting paddy rice of Inpari 30 variety with approachment of jajar legowo cultivation technique 4:1 indicated better yield than tegel system

    Evaluasi Keragaan Tujuh Genotipe Cabai (Capsicum Annuum L.) di Lahan Gambut

    The objective of this research was to evaluate variability seven genotype Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) in peatlands and find genotype that have high yield. Research arranged in a randomized block design consisting of seven treatments (genotype C-5, C-111, C-120, C-159, C-159 x C-5, C-159 x C-111, C-159 x C-120) with three replications. Parameters measured were flowering date, harvesting date, plant height, height dichotomous, stem diameter, canopy width, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, total weight per plant. The results showed that seven genotipe Chili planted variability in peatlands visible between genotype, especially in stem diameter, fruit length, fruit diameter, flowering date, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant. Genotype C-5 which is a great Chili has the highest yield with weight per fruit 13,78 g and total weight per plant 407,02 g

    The Effectiveness of Acupressure Therapy and Aromatherapy of Lemon on the Ability of Coping and Emesis Gravidarum in Trimester I Pregnant Women at Langsa City Community Health Centre, Aceh, Indonesia

    BACKGROUND: Acupressure therapy and aromatherapy lemon are now increasingly popular in the treatment of various diseases in Indonesia. One treatment alternative to deal with nausea, vomiting during pregnancy is to use aqua-pressure and aromatherapy techniques. AIM: Analyzing the effects of acupressure therapy and the aroma of lemon therapy on the ability to cope and emesis gravidarum in trimester I pregnant women at the city health center Langsa, Aceh province. METHODS: The design of this study is a quasi-experiment. The design used was a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted in the West Langsa health center from January to March 2019. The population was all the first-trimester pregnant women with complaints of nausea and vomiting. The sample was chosen about 60 people using a purposive sampling technique. Respondents were divided into three groups. The first group was acupressure, the second group was acupressure + lemon aromatherapy and the third group was control. Data analysis using univariate analysis, and bivariable analysis using paired t-test, dependent t-test and one-way ANOVA, multi-variable analysis using a multi-covariance test, and ANOVA RESULTS: Research results show that acupressure and acupressure + lemon therapy are effective in reducing nausea experienced by pregnant women. Lemon acupressure + aromatherapy therapy significantly reduced nausea in pregnant women with a p = 0.0001 (p <0.05). The results of paired t-test nausea and vomiting in the acupressure and acupressure + lemon aromatherapy groups decreased the amount of nausea with a decrease of 4.2 and 4.85, respectively. The duration of nausea and vomiting also decreased by 1.55 and 4.3 with a p = 0.0001 (p <0.05). ANOVA test results in the treatment group on coping ability showed that the acupressure + lemon aromatherapy group increased the coping ability of pregnant women by 5.7 compared to the control group. The results of paired t-test coping abilities in pregnant women with acupressure therapy were 3.2 and lemon acupressure + aromatherapy treatments were 6.2. The increase in both treatments was significant with a p = 0.0001, respectively. CONCLUSION: There is an effect of grapefruit aromatherapy on the intensity of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the working area of Langsa City Health Center with p < 0.05 (0.0001)

    Rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) is important food crops in Indonesia to boost production of upland rice crop nutrients needed in sufficient quantities especially N, P dan K. This research aims is to determine where the rice varieties that give effect to N, P and K fertilizer. This research was conducted in screen house of Agriculture Faculty at Riau University, Pekanbaru. This research take 7 months start from August 2013 till February 2014. This research was performed experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consist of 2 factor, tested by LSD 5% level. The first factor is the upland rice varieties cosisting of varieties Santan, varieties Pulau Petai and vvarieties Inpago 5 and second factor N, P dan K fertilizer. The results showed the granting of a wide measure of fertilizer N, P dan K are not real movers shakers of all parameters, except for the amount of grain panicle effect is real and varieties pulau petai give relatively higher results when viewed from the result. Grating a rate of fertilizer (Urea 0,38 g, SP-36 0,34 g, KCl 0,15 g/clumps) on inpago varieties can increase the height of the plant, tillers maxsimum number, number of productive tillers and the amount of grain panicle. While granting a measure (Urea 0,75 g, SP-36 0,68 g, KCl 0,3 g/clumps) increased panicle emergence time, percentage pithy grain per panicle, grain weight clumps dan weight of 1000 filled grain

    This research aims to determine the effect of N, P and K on the growth and yield of Bima Brebes and Thailand varieties onion and the best dosage to support in ultisol soil. This research has been conducted in the field of Agricultural Extension Center, Geringging Village. Kampar Kiri, Kampar District, Riau Province. This study was conducted in 2x4 factorial experiment arranged in a randomized completely block design (RCBD) comprises two factors. The first factor is varieties consisting of two levels is Bima Brebes and Thailand. The second factor is the dose of fertilizer, N, P, and K comprising 4 levels, namely: urea 250+ TSP 150 + KCl 100 kg/ ha, urea 500 + TSP 300 + KCl 200 kg/ha, urea 750 + TSP 450 + KCl 300 kg/ha dan urea 100 + TSP 600 + KCl 400 kg/ha. Parameters measured were dry weight, weight of tuber per hill, tuber number, tuber wrap, fresh tuber weight per plot and the weight of feaseable storage of tuber per plot. The result showed that the Thailand varieties of urea fertilizer and 1000 kg/ha + TSP 600 kg/ha + KCl 400 kg/ha gives the highest yield of onion crop

    Interaksi Genetik X Lingkungan dan Stabilitas Komponen Hasil Berbagai Genotipe Kedelai di Provinsi Riau

    Genotype by environment (GE) interaction and stability of a trait in any crop plant such as soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) are very important for plant breeders to develop and evaluate the new cultivars as well as for farmers to plant suitable cultivars for commercial purpose. Crop performances including harvesting date, yield components and grain yield of nine genotypes of soybean were evaluated at three locations with distinct environments in Riau. The data were used to determine GE interaction variance components of the traits and yield stability. There was significant effect of location on all characters except on grain yield per plot. The genotypes differed significantly in all yield components and grain yield. Genotype x environment interaction significantly affected several crop performances such as harvesting date, all yield components and grain yield. The magnitude of GE interaction variance component was greater than that of location for all traits except the number of seed per plant indicating that most genotypes performed differently across the locations and were not stable with respect to the locations. Among the nine genotypes, line 19BE and Malabar are classified as stable genotypes and could be grown in wide area of Riau Province, while line 13ED and Kipas Putih produced high grain yield in specific area and could be only grown in Pekanbaru

    Indonesian has the widest peat land (15 million ha) among the tropical countries, which is about 3.867.413 ha is in the Riau Province. Peat land can be usefull to make an Industry Plant Forest (IPF). The water management of the peat land is the important key of the IPF progress in the peat land to be success. The aimed of this research was to investigate the effect of the height of water level and the peat land fiber size to the root system and the growth of Acacia (Acacia crassicarpa). This research was conducted for three months at the backyard of Soil Science Laboratory of University of Riau, Pekanbaru. This study used a completely randomized design which consisted of two factors. The first factor was the peat land fiber size that has two levels, D1 (size of soft fiber) and D2 (size of hard fiber). The second factor was the the height of water level with 3 levels, which was 25 cm, 50 cm and 75 cm. This study had six combinations with 3 replicates, so that was obtained 18 unit of experiments. The data was analyzed using ANOVA and tested further by DNMRT at the 5% of significant. The observed parameter is the soil subsidence and the plant such as root weight (g), root length (cm), root volume (ml), plant height (cm), stem weight (g), plant diameter (cm), leaf weight (cm), and plant biomass (g). The result showed that the root system and the plant growth influenced by the height of water surface and the peat land fiber size
