    The factor analysis of organizational commitment, job satisfaction and performance among lecturers in Batam

    This article intended to determine the important elements in commitment, satisfaction and job performance of university lecturers. This study involved 179 respondents from 3 universities located in Batam, Indonesia. The survey instrument had used a 5-point Likert scale to obtain feedback. Overall, the survey had achieved a very high level of reliability for organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and job performance. The data obtained was processed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to examine the structure of commitment, satisfaction, and performance factors. Overall, the instrument, which was the questionnaire, was valid. It was found, based on the EFA, that the three important factors were commitment, satisfaction, and performance. Hence, how could the findings significantly solve the problem statement as well as state the vision and potential of future studies. The Rotated Component Matrix showed the correlation between items and the factors after the Varimax rotation. Factor 1 contained 13 items, Factor 2 contained 12 items, while Factor 3 contained 11 items. It was found that items in Factor 1 could be under the “Commitment Factor”, items in Factor 2 could be under the “Performance Factor”, while items under factor 3 could be under the “Satisfaction Factor”. The outcome of this study could act as a guideline for lecturers to excel in their careers as well as assist institutions to develop effective evaluations

    The University is one of the places to improve the quality of human resources. The development of education at the University of Batam city in particular has involved many parties, namely professors, the University, the community and other educational organizations. Job satisfaction in University lecturer becomes important to note. The lack of research on job satisfaction in University environment and the existing research is usually done in the industrial sector alone, so this study needs to be done at University. The object in this study to confirm the item indicators of job satisfaction lecturer. Data were collected using a questionnaire involves a number of 392 lecturers in Batam City University namely Putera Batam University, Batam University, and University of Riau Islands. Data were analyzed using SEM study of Amos. Results of the study found that, item 7 item confirming the satisfaction indicators indicators that can measure satisfaction with the Good of Fit is acceptable. The acquired results of the study can be used as a reference for the purposes of institutions, academics, and practitioners in making standards and evauasi job satisfaction. In addition, on behalf of the University needs to consider item indicators of satisfaction and need to also pay attention to other factors beyond the performed studies such as demographic factors, management and others

    A descriptive analysis of perceptional social competence instrument lecturer at the high school of Islamic Ibnu Sina Batam City

    Perceptional social competence assessment instrument is built and developed based on theories of performance assessment of competence and on the basis of previous research within and outside the country. This research based on the theory of performance assessment of lecturers upon perceptional social competence which renders the performance of lecturers assessed competency and one of them is social competence, This assessment involves assessment of the 12 items are built. Research involving 34 people respondents a lecturer at an Islamic High school environment (STAI) Ibnu Sina Batam. A descriptive analysis of the instrument is determined by the value of the min score. Instruments Questionnaire given to 34 people. The min value of the score is found the total value average of 2.98. These values can be inferred that the consistency of answers on respondents from the total of the items in the social competence of the lecturers at the instrument category enough. Thus the performance assessment of social competence perceptional lecturer at an Islamic High school environment Avicenna Batam is enough. For upcoming research suggested revisiting the performance assessment perceptional lecturer based on competencies other than the social competence, for example, intellectual and emotional competencies

    University is a place to improve the quality of human resources. The development of university level education in Indonesia, particularly in Batam has involved various parties. They are lectures, university, community and other educational organizations. Most of the studies on commitment, job satisfaction and job performance generally performed in industrial and business sector. Lecturer is one of the important aspects of an educational system in higher education. The objective of this study is to investigate the university organizational commitment, lectures’ job satisfaction and lectures’ performance. Data was collected through questionnaire which involved 179 samples from three university lecturers in Batam, Indonesia including Putera Batam University, Batam University and Riau Kepulauan University. This research utilized SPSS statistical software to analyze the data. The results shows positive and significant relationship among i) commitment and job performance, ii) commitment and job satisfaction, iii) job satisfaction and job performance, and iv) commitment and job satisfaction on job performance. The findings can be used as a reference for the needs of institutions, academics and practitioners in making the standard of evaluation in measuring the university organization and individual staff commitment as well as their performance

    Aplikasi Raport Digital (ARD) merupakan sistem aplikasi berbasis web yang diharapkan bisa mempermudah guru dalam melakukan penilaian kepada peserta didik bahkan sampai ke cetak raport dan evaluasi nilai hasil belajar peserta didik. Perkembangan ini merupakan salah satu upaya peningkatan kualitas mutu pendidikan. Kinerja guru merupakan salah satu kunci agar sekolah semakin berkembang dan produktif. Kinerja guru dipengaruhi berbagai faktor dan pendukung diantaranya rapor online sebagai aplikasi pengolahan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan Aplikasi Raport Digital dengan kinerja guru serta seberapa besar hubungan Aplikasi Raport Digital terhadap kinerja guru di UPT SMA Negeri 2 Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan metode sampel jenuh yaitu 62 sampel. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana dan uji-t dengan bantuan SPSS 22.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara Penggunaan Aplikasi Raport Digital terhadap Kinerja Guru di UPT SMA Negeri 2 Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji hipotesis, dimana nilai thitung lebih dari nilai ttabel. Nilai korelasi antara X dan Y dijelaskan oleh Variabel X dan sekitar 30,8%, dimana variabel independen (Penggunaan ARD) memiliki pengaruh terhadap variabel dependen (kinerja guru) sebesar 30,8%

    Purpose of Study: Silat is one of the primary school co-curricular activities. This co-curricular activity is informal in nature and learned outside school hours. Normally these silat activities are taught by the association of silat which is within the confines of the community. In this regard, the syllabus taught is non-standard because it could not assess the level of competency of students for their psychomotor, cognitive and affective domain. Methodology: This study is to establish a curriculum module silatolahraga in primary school by using development curriculum (DACUM) approach Results: This study developed a curriculum module that can be used in primary school that capable of measuring student competency in ‘silatolahraga’.     Organizational commitment of Vocational College Teachers in Malaysia

    This study aimed to validate factors related to organizational commitment among teachers in vocational colleges in Malaysia. As we know, the commitment given to the organization will make the organization manageable. However, there are issues regarding the commitment given by the teachers in vocational colleges, which has led to poor performance of college organizations. Some studies have found that factors such as narrative commitment, affective commitment and ongoing commitment cause the overall commitment to the organization to be disrupted. In this study, a fully quantitative approach is used to determine factors in the organization commitment of vocational college teachers. The questionnaire was administered to 264 vocational college teachers in three states in Malaysia namely Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor. The data obtained were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS 21 application. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was performed to obtain factor loading for each element obtained namely narrative commitment, affective commitment and continuous commitment. The analysis results show that the factors reflect the appropriate fit and meet all the criteria for validation. Therefore, the findings of this study can further confirm previous findings on this issue

    Kompetensi Guru Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi Sekolah Rendah Di Daerah Batu Pahat : The Competencies of Primary School Design and Technology Teachers in Batu Pahat District

    Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi merupakan mata pelajaran yang baharu diperkenalkan pada tahun 2014, maka kompetensi guru Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi harus dititikberatkan untuk memastikan objektif mata pelajaran RBT tercapai. Kementerian Pendidikan telah menerbitkan Standard Guru Malaysia untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dengan mementingkan tiga standard, iaitu standard amalan nilai profesionlisme keguruan, standard pengetahuan dan kefahaman guru dan standard kemahiran pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Untuk menghasilkan murid yang mampu bersaing dan berketerampilan pada abad ke-21, guru Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi  perlu memiliki kompetensi seperti nilai, pengetahuan dan kemahiran agar tetap relevan dengan perkembangan terkini dalam pendidikan amnya dan bidang Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi khususnya. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitaif yang menggunakan kaedah tinjauan dengan soal selidik untuk melihat tahap kompetensi guru Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi sekolah rendah di daerah Batu Pahat. Seramai 403 orang guru Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi sekolah rendah di daerah Batu Pahat terlibat dalam kajian ini. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap kompetensi guru Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi  sekolah rendah di daerah Batu Pahat adalah tinggi (M=4.45, SP=0.56).   Design dan Technology is a newly introduced subject in year 2014, so the competence of Design and Technology teachers should be emphasized to ensure that the objectives of the subject Design and Technology are achieved. The Ministry of Education has published the Malaysia Teacher Standards to improve the competence of teachers by focusing on three standards, namely the standard of practice values of teaching professionalism, the standard of teacher knowledge and understanding and the standard of teaching and learning skills. In order to produce students who are able to compete and have skills in the 21st century, Design and Technology teachers need to have competencies such as values, knowledge and skills in order to remain relevant to the latest developments in education in general and the field of Design and Technology in particular. This study uses a quantitative approach that uses a survey method with a questionnaire to see the level of competence of primary school Design and Technology teachers in the Batu Pahat district. A total of 403 primary school Design and Technology teachers in Batu Pahat district were involved in this study. The results of study show that the level of competence of primary school Design and Technology teachers in Batu Pahat district is high (M=4.45, SP=0.56). Highly competent teachers are needed to teach Design and Technology subjects in order to achieve the goal of the National Education Philosophy, which is to produce balanced and holistic human capital from various aspects

    Discovering Competency's Elements in the Affective Domain of a Sustainable Co-curricular Syllabus

    Developing a sustainable co-curricular syllabus incorporating competency elements across all three learning domains - cognitive, psychomotor, and affective is challenging. However, this paper focuses on the affective domain, crucial in shaping students' personalities and forming positive values. The study presented here aims to identify the competency elements required for the affective domain in developing the co-curricular Silat syllabus. This study employed a qualitative research method and gathered data through interview sessions with six Silat experts from PESAKA Malaysia. The experts were asked open-ended questions to guide their opinions on the competency elements in the affective domain. The interview sessions were conducted in an organised workshop where the experts were briefed on the purpose of the interview. The information revealed by the experts was recorded, transformed into transcripts, and analysed using the thematic method. The study's findings revealed that the competency elements required for the affective domain in the co-curricular Silat syllabus are good values, civility, athletic abilities, respect, and morality. These elements are vital in the affective learning domains that shape the personality and competency of the students in their co-curricular subjects. The identified competency elements for the affective domain in the co-curricular Silat syllabus will aid in shaping students' personalities, forming positive values, and improving their abilities. It is recommended that further studies be conducted to identify competency elements in the cognitive and psychomotor domains, which will contribute to developing a comprehensive and sustainable co-curricular syllabus
