9 Women's Work and the Family

The effects of a working woman's occupational activities on her family are varied and diverse. On the one hand they help raise her family's living standards and expand its social contacts. On the other they promote the development of the woman's personality and thereby raise her social status, enrich her intellectual and cultural life, and sharply enhance her role in family and daily life. This, in turn, promotes equality in the family and the rational division and sharing of domestic work.

Video-tutorial for the Movement Disorder Society criteria for progressive supranuclear palsy

Background: The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society-endorsed Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Study Group published clinical diagnostic criteria for progressive supranuclear palsy in 2017, aiming to optimize early, sensitive and specific diagnosis. Objective: To assist physicians in the application of these criteria, we developed a video-based tutorial in which all core clinical features and clinical clues are depicted and explained. Methods: Patients provided written informed consent to the publication of their videos. High-quality videos along with essential descriptions were collected by the study group members. Most educational videos were selected in a structured consensus process. Results: We provide 68 videos of all core clinical features and clinical clues defined by the diagnostic criteria, along with instructive descriptions of the depicted patients, examination techniques and clinical findings. Conclusions: This comprehensive video-based tutorial will support physicians in the application of the diagnostic criteria of progressive supranuclear palsy. © 202

Social partnership or "a complete sell out"? Russian trade unions' responses to conflict

In 1990 the former communist trade unions in Russia adopted a programme of social partnership, the aim of which was to defend their members' interests during transition while also maintaining social peace. But critics of social partnership within the union movement argue that it amounts to little more than an excuse for inaction. To examine whether social partnership represents a departure from the collaborationist habits of the Soviet past, I examine 33 case studies of conflict at enterprise level conducted between 1999 and 2000.
