Extension of Decision Tree Algorithm for Stream Data Mining Using Real Data
Recently, because of increasing amount of data in the society, data stream mining targeting large scale data has
attracted attention. The data mining is a technology of discovery new knowledge and patterns from the massive amounts of data, and what the data correspond to data stream is data stream mining. In this paper, we propose the feature selection with online decision tree. At first, we construct online type decision tree to regard credit card transaction data as data stream on data stream
mining. At second, we select attributes thought to be important for detection of illegal use. We apply VFDT (Very Fast Decision Tree learner) algorithm to online type decision tree construction
Energy and environmental performances of small and innovative solar cooling systems
The development of renewable energy technologies is a critical tool for reducing climate change and the reliance on fossil fuels. However, renewable energy technologies cannot be considered totally clean because they require energy consumption and have environmental impacts that cannot be neglected during their life cycle. This paper presents the results of two researches related to the application of solar thermal system for building heating and cooling. It is focused on small and compact systems of two different typologies. An innovative compact Solar DEC system is analysed in terms of potential competitor of stand alone electrically driven HVAC systems. The performances of small absorption chillers coupled with low temperature solar collectors is investigated by the means of Life Cycle Assessment approach in order to highlight their environmental impacts also during manufacturing and end-of-life phases.Bajada New Energy, General Membrane, EcoGroup, Econetique, Energy Investment, JMV Vibro Blocks, Solar Engineering, Solar Solutionspeer-reviewe
Comment of »Theory of the Formation of Colloidal Crystals« by Mirnik
Recently Mirnik discussed colloidal crystals1 on the basis of our experimental findings.2 He claimed that the hexagonal structure of one particle surrounded by six others is in reality impossible and what we observed is a not true apparent hexagonal packing. His argument was based on a simple cubic lattice (See Figure 2 in Ref. 1.), which he incorrectly presumed to exist in colloidal dispersions. It should be pointed out that a simple cubic lattice structure has never been observed for colloidal systems. Our micrographic study ,3 X-ray scattering4 and Kossel line analyses5 have established that the crystals belong to a face-centered-cubic (fee) or body-centered cubic (bcc) symmetry, depending on the latex concentration. The (111) plane of an fee structure provides a strictly hexagonal arrangement while the (110) plane of a bcc symmetry shows a slightly deformed hexagonal packing. Thus, his claim that 2Z)exp is apparent interparticle distance is unwarranted, particularly for the fee symmetry, it is actually the center-to- center distance between particles
Possible Remedies for Monopolistic Conditions in the Lumber Industry
In a previous issue of the Forester the writer traced the early history of the United States forestry policy. In a monograph which is now in the publisher\u27s hands the history of that forest policy has been brought down to the present time, and the results have been analyzed in detail. In that monograph the writer has indicated how as a result of the unwise policy pursued by Congress most of the timberlands of the country have gravitated into the hands of a few holders, and how, upon the basis of this concentration in the ownership of the standing timber, there have developed certain monopolistic conditions in the lumber manufacturing industry. It is the purpose of the present article to consider the various ways of dealing with this so-called lumber trust
