Identifikasi Fitoplankton Spesies Harmfull Algae Bloom (Hab) Saat Kondisi Pasang di Perairan Pesisir Brondong, Lamongan, Jawa Timur
The objectives of this study was to identify composition and community structure of phytoplankton HAB duringtide period in Brondong Coastal Waters, Lamongan, East Java. The research was conducted in 7 April, 22 Apriland 6 May 2015. There were five stations along Brondong coastal. Phytoplankton sampling was carried out ineach stations by using plankton net with vertical method. This study also was held to correlate betweenabundance and community structure index of phytoplankton found in studied areas with water quality bycorrelation analysis. Composition of phytoplankton HAB was found namely Dinophyceae (Ceratium fusus,Ceratium macroceros, Ceratium pulchellum, Dinophysis acuminata, Gonyaulax polygramma, Gonyaulaxtriacantha, Noctiluca scintillans and Peridinium claudicans) and Bacillariophyceae (Chaetoceros compressus,Chaetoceros laciniosus dan Nitzschia closterium). The highest abundance was determined 16550 cell/L whichwas belong to Nitzschia closterium. Deversity index was ranged from 0,58-1,44 while similiarity indeks rangedfrom 0,66-0,89, and dominance index was 0,29-0,61. The correlation analysis found that there were significantpositive relationship between abundance, diversity and similiarity index with seawater temperature and DO
Aktivitas Antifouling Avicennia Marina terhadap Macrofouler Perna Viridis
Fouling can be defined as undesired aggregation of living organism on float or submerged thing (ships, wharf, and the others off shore building). Fouling may effect on the function and maintenance of an object by lessen their lifetime, and evoked invasive species. TBT antifouling materials such as in paint widely used to prevent fouling organism, but this substance gave negative impact on the environment. It not only wipe out fouling organism but also other organism and some degree cause imposex. Therefore in 2008, the use of this antifouling was banned by International Maritime Organization. This research aiming to found potential marine natural product there are mangrove as antifouling. This research was conducted on September to December 2016. The experimental design for this research was using completely randomized design. Result shows that experimental the extract of Avicennia marina did not have significant impact on Perna viridis ability to bind onto subtrate. Nevertheless, A. marina had impact on P. Viridis byssus production. Lesser number and shorter length of byssus was yield from the treatment concentration compared to the control. This research indicated that Avicennia marina may has antifouling potential, but further study is needed
An Evidence of Complete-Pectoral Fin Loss as an Asymmetric Trait on African Catfish Clarias gariepinus Reared in Pond
The purpose of this study was to describe the asymmetric potential possessed by the pectoral fin organ Clarias gariepinus catfish originating from maintenance in aquaculture ponds. Individuals who do not grow a pair of pectoral fins are mated to a normal pectoral finned individual to obtain fish seed (F1). The study was conducted from January to April 2017 at the Reproductive Laboratory of Aquaculture Studies Program Department of Water Resources Management Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science Universitas Brawijaya Malang. The observed variables are asymmetric score and Asymmetric Fluctuation Index (FA). The number of lefts and right pectoral fin radius, as well as abnormal F1 percentage, were analyzed. Long-weight relationship was analyzed by linear regression and PT/BB ratio. The conclusions using Mann Whitney-U Test (α = 0.01). The results showed that the population of F1 from the parent fish of the non-pectoral mortal differs very significantly with the controls on the asymmetry score variables (13.63±29.88), FA (1.25±2.05), the average number of pectoral left fins (8.95±3.22) - right fin (9.10±1.89), and the ratio of PT/BB (1.57±0.61) with a long-weighted relationship based on the equation y = 3.25x-2.04. Based on the results of this study it is concluded that the catfish Afrika Clarias gariepinus with perfect loss pectoral fin has the potency to generate asymmetrical characters to its generation and rising FA that is influenced by the hybridization or crosses
Spiny lobster Panulirus versicolor filogenetic and genetic in Lombok waters, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia
This study aims to identify the phylogenetic spiny lobster Panulirus versicolor in Lombok waters, Indonesia and its association with P. versicolor spiny lobster from several regions of the Indian Ocean based on the cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene. The researchers collected tissue samples from 13 P. versicolor spiny lobster in Lombok waters. 9 haplotypes were identified with haplotype diversity values (Hd) and nucleotides (Pi) respectively Hd = 0.859 and Pi = 0.00509. Research results exhibit P. versicolor spiny lobster population from the waters of Lombok is closely related to the spiny lobster population in some regions of the Indian Ocean. In general, P. versicolor spiny lobster population formed a monophyletic clone with spiny lobsters from several regions of the Indian Ocean with genetic distance values (P-distance from 0.001 to 0.004). The reconstruction of the haplotype network exhibited no genetic structure, which means that each population is not genetically isolated from others
