    Ocular surface changes in long-term soft contact lens wearing. Treatment approach

Egorova Scientific Research Institute of Eye Diseases, Moscow, Russian Federation Soft contact lens fitting and wearing require the choice of the most appropriate contact lens parameters considering external factors and patient’s needs. Breaking one or several conditions may alter normal eye physiology in terms of both functions and anatomy and result in contact lens induced dry eye. Currently, there are numerous agents to prevent tear film instability and to improve ocular surface. Preservative-free hyaluronic acid-containing tear substitutes of low viscosity are recommended to prevent ocular discomfort in eyes wearing soft contact lenses. In eye dryness and tear film instability, hyaluronic acid product containing vitamin B12 (which provides antioxidant protection) is recommended. When the effect of tear substitutes of low viscosity is scarce, 5% dexpanthenol gel-containing product is recommended to treat superficial corneal abrasions and to improve epithelial healing.     The article reflects the results of an empirical study in the field of the problem of coping behavior. Based on the research results of foreign and domestic scientists, we conclude that coping behavior is nothing more than a special purposeful socially-oriented behavior of a person, providing him with productivity, health and both psychological and social well-being. Considering that the formation of the experience of coping behavior is a prolonged and ongoing process throughout a person’s life, we determined the study of the specifics of coping behavior among students of higher educational institutions as the targets of our research.     The dynamics of live weight and the morphological composition of carcasses of broiler chickens “Cobb 500” at 1-, 21-, 28-, 33-, 38- and 42-day-old ages were studied. It was found that the increase in the average daily growth in broiler males is observed up to the 33-day age, on average they are 62.7 g, then up to 42 days - 85.56 g. The slaughter yield in 33-day broilers was 71.83%, 42 days - 73.12%. The carcass contains the most muscle tissue, from 994 g (33 day), or 65.57%, to 1410 g, or 66.95% (42 days). By the 42-day age of the males, the absolute mass of muscles is 178.26 times higher than the weight of the 1-day-old ones. The relative mass of bones in the carcasses of 33-day-old males is 20.32%, 42-day-olds - 16.52%. The anatomical cutting of the carcasses shows that the breast yield is 35.95-36.23%, the hips - 17.15-17.09%, the shins - 14.38-14.20%, the wings -11.15-10.68%. It is established that anatomically parts of the carcass differ in quality because of the different ratio of muscle tissue and bones in them.Изучали динамику живой массы и морфологический состав тушек цыплят-бройлеров кросса «Кобб 500» в 1-, 21-, 28-, 33-, 38- и 42-дневном возрастах. Выявлено, что повышение среднесуточных приростов у бройлерных петушков наблюдается до 33-дневного возраста, в среднем составляют 62,7 г, далее до 42 дней - 85,56 г. Убойный выход у 33-дневных бройлеров равнялся 71,83%, 42 дня - 73,12%. В тушках больше всего содержится мышечной ткани, от 994 г (33-дневные), или 65,57%, до 1410 г, или 66,95% (42 дн.). К 42-дневному возрасту петушков абсолютная масса мышц по сравнению с массой 1-дневных увеличивается в 178,26 раза. Относительная масса костей в тушках 33-дневных петушков составляет 20,32%, 42-дневных - 16,52%. Данные анатомической разделки тушек показывают, что выход грудки равняется 35,95-36,23%, бедра - 17,15-17,09%, голени -14,38-14,20%, крыла - 11,15-10,68%. Установлено, что анатомически части тушки отличаются по качеству из-за разного соотношения в них мышечной ткани и костей

    Leucyl-tRNA synthetase from Thermus thermophilus (LeuRSTT) was purified to homogeneity using a five-step purification procedure. The enzyme was characterized and crystallized. Molecular mass determinations of the native and denatured proteins indicate monomeric structure of LeuRSTT with the molecular mass of about 101 kDa. The protein obtained is remarkably thermostable and retains 97 % of its initial aminoacylation activity after 1 hour of incubation at 88 °C. Crystals of LeuRSTT were obtained from ammonium sulfate solution by the vapour diffusion techniques. The crystals quality was improved by crystallization from the precipitate.Лейцил-тРНК синтетаза из Thermus thermophilus (ЛейРСТТ) выделена в гомогенном состоянии с использованием пяти стадий очистки. Фермент охарактеризован и получены его кристаллы. Определена молекулярная масса нашивного и дена­турированного белка. Установлено, что ЛейРСТТ представ­ляет собой мономер с молекулярной массой 101 кДа. Получен­ный фермент обладает значительной термостабильностью и сохраняет 97 % аминоацилирующей активности после инкуба­ции в течение 1 ч при температуре 88 °С. Кристаллы ЛейРСТТ получены методом диффузии паров с использованием в качестве осадителя раствора сульфата аммонияЛейцил-тРНК синтетазу із Thermus thermophilus (ЛейРСТТ) виділено в гомогенному стані з використанням п'яти стадій очищення. Фермент охарактеризовано та отримано його кристали. Визначено молекулярну масу нативного і денатуро­ваного білка. Встановлено, що ЛейРСТТ являє собою мономер з молекулярною масою 101 кДа.     Isovector soft dipole mode in 6Be

    By using the 1H(6Li,6Be)n charge-exchange reaction, continuum states in 6Be were populated up to E_t=16 MeV, E_t being the 6Be energy above its three-body decay threshold. In kinematically complete measurements performed by detecting alpha+p+p coincidences, an E_t spectrum of high statistics was obtained, containing approximately ~5x10^6 events. The spectrum provides detailed correlation information about the well-known 0^+ ground state of 6Be at E_t=1.37 MeV and its 2^+ state at E_t=3.05 MeV. Moreover, a broad structure extending from 4 to 16 MeV was observed. It contains negative parity states populated by Delta L=1 angular momentum transfer without other significant contributions. This structure can be interpreted as a novel phenomenon, i.e. the isovector soft dipole mode associated with the 6Li ground state. The population of this mode in the charge-exchange reaction is a dominant phenomenon for this reaction, being responsible for about 60% of the cross section obtained in the measured energy range.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figure
