Get PDF
This paper discusses the project targeted in development of proactive, personalized and composite services for the blogosphere. By applying the smart spaces paradigm we have developed an approach for composition of blog spaces. We contribute formal technique for construction of proactive and personalized service for bloggers as well as for its integration with external applications. The proposed technique is implemented in SmartScribo application on top of the Smart-M3 platform. The developed prototype solution has confirmed that the approach results in services with the next quality level

A Comprehensive Study of the Thermal Behavior of Rare Earth Chloride Hydrates: Resolving Contradictions

Received: 11 January 2024. Accepted: 12 February 2024. Published online: 6 March 2024.Rare earth metal chlorides are used as starting materials on electrochemical synthesis of pure metals. These chlorides are hygroscopic and tend to form hydrates. To resolve the uncertainty of the thermal behavior of the hydrates LaCl3 ∙ 7H2O, NdCl3 ∙ 6H2O, SmCl3 ∙ 6H2O, and YbCl3 ∙ 6H2O, a comprehensive study is carried out. Thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry and mass spectrometry were used to reveal the dehydration and hydrolysis processes over the temperature range of 25–700 ºC. Phase compositions of the initial hydrates, intermediate and final products are investigated by the XRD analysis, Raman and IR spectroscopy. Distinctions in the thermal behavior of the studied hydrates were found. The features must be taken into account when obtaining anhydrous rare earth chlorides and in technological processes with its participation.XRD analysis and Raman spectra were performed using the equipment of the Shared Access Centre ‘‘Composition of compounds”, IHTE, Ural Branch of RAS

Interaction between barium oxide and barium containing chloride melt

Get PDF
Thermal analysis was applied to determine the liquidus temperatures in the NaCl-KCl-BaCl2-BaO system, with BaO concentration varied from 0 to 6 mole%. The temperature dependence of the BaO solubility in the NaCl-KCl-BaCl2 eutectic melt was investigated; the thermodynamic parameters of BaO dissolution were calculated. The caloric effects of melting of the NaCl-KCl- BaCl2 eutectic with barium oxide and barium oxychloride additions were studied. The type, morphology, and composition of oxychloride ionic groupings in the melt were determined in situ using Raman spectroscopy

PECULIARITIES OF TERRITORIAL DISTRIBUTION OF TICK-BORNE ENCEPHALITIS MORBIDITY WITHIN IRKUTSK RESIDENTS

Irkutsk residents are infected, with, tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) mainly in Pribaykalie (Irkutsk region and Buryat Republic). TBE foci are rather various on this territory. Differences in some parameters of morbidity structure at the infection in different areas of this territory are reviewed, in this article

Distribution of Tryptophan-Dependent Yersinia pestis Variants in the Altai Mountain Natural Plague Focus

Carried out is the analysis of spatial location of tryptophan-dependent variants of plague microbe in the territory of Altai mountain plague natural focus. 1166 Y. pestis strains isolated in 1990–2010, were studied as regards nutrient requirements. 140 of them (12 %) were determined as tryptophan-dependent. The highest occurence of such strains was registered in Ulandryk focal region (21.6 % in average). Among strains isolated in Tarkhatin focal region only 2.3 % were tryptophan-dependent, and in Kuray region they were absent. Thus, the data obtained suggest that spatial heterogeneity of Y. pestis subsp. altaica in the focus takes place

The Current State of Natural Foci of Tick-Borne Encephalitis near Irkutsk City

Among main factors that influence intensity of tick-borne encephalitis foci one can distinguish the numbers of core vector (here, taiga tick Ixodes persulcatus) and the percentage of infected ticks. This paper shows the results of five-year monitoring of the tick-borne encephalitis focus, which is situated near Irkutsk city. Detected are the variations in numbers and infestation of the core vector of tick-borne encephalitis, both spatial and temporal. Cause-effect connection between these factors and human TBE morbidity is not found. However, morbidity rates of the Irkutsk population, observed on the annual basis, bear evidence of high activity and intensity of the foci. In this regard, a number of preventive measures is put forward, but further observations concerning all the parameters that influence foci activity are required

Epizootiological and Epidemiological Situation on Leptospirosis in the Russian Federation over the Period of 2013–2022 and the Forecast for 2023

Get PDF
The aim of the work was to analyze the epizootic and epidemiological situation on leptospirosis in the territory of the Russian Federation in 2013–2022 and to forecast its development in 2023. The long-term dynamics of leptospirosis incidence in the Russian Federation tends to decrease. Cases were registered in 58 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, in all federal districts. The highest incidence rates were noted in the North-Western Federal District. When studying the material from small mammals using bacteriological, immunological and molecular-biological methods, Leptospira circulation was detected in 52 entities of the Russian Federation, in all federal districts. In 2023, sporadic cases of infection are to be expected in the territories of the North-Western Federal District, the Central Federal District, and the Southern Federal District; imported cases of infection from countries with subequatorial and equatorial climates are not excluded

A Case of Human Plague in Kosh-Agach Region of the Republic of Altai in 2015. Communication 2. Microbiological and Molecular-Genetic Characteristics of the Isolated Strains

Objective of the study was a complex pheno- and genotypic investigation of Yersinia pestis I-3595 and Y. pestis I-3596 strains, isolated from marmots that were the source of human infection in 2015. Materials and methods. A comprehensive microbiological, molecular-genetic and mass-spectrometric studying of Y. pestis ssp. pestis strains, isolated from two grey marmots that became a cause of the plague case in Gorno-Altai high-mountain focus in 2015, was performed using up-to-date methods. Results and conclusions. It was established that the studied Y. pestis strains belonged to the main subspecies. Results of plasmid screening, multilocus VNTR-and mass-spectrometric analyses showed that those strains were closely related to Y. pestis variant detected in the focus in 2012 and in 2014, and circulating in Northwest Mongolia and Tuva natural focus

The First Case of Yersinia Pestis Subsp. Pestis Isolation in the Territory of Altai Mountain Natural Plague Focus. Communication 1. Microbiological Characteristics, Molecular-Genetic and Mass-Spectrometric Identification of the Isolate

Performed is a complex microbiological, molecular-genetic and mass-spectrometric identification of Yersinia pestis main ssp. strain, which was isolated for the first time in the history of surveillance over the Altai mountain natural plague focus in June, 2012. Determined is its high universal virulence. Plasmid screening, multi-locus VNTR- and mass-spectrometric analyses have revealed the strain to be more closely related to the plague agent variant, circulating in the territory of the natural focus Khuukh-Serkh-Munkh-Khairkhan, Bayan-Ul’giisk aimak, Mongolia
