Theory of temperature dependence of the Fermi surface-induced splitting of the alloy diffuse-scattering intensity peak

The explanation is presented for the temperature dependence of the fourfold intensity peak splitting found recently in diffuse scattering from the disordered Cu3Au alloy. The wavevector and temperature dependence of the self-energy is identified as the origin of the observed behaviour. Two approaches for the calculation of the self-energy, the high-temperature expansion and the alpha-expansion, are proposed. Applied to the Cu3Au alloy, both methods predict the increase of the splitting with temperature, in agreement with the experimental results.Comment: 4 pages, 3 EPS figures, RevTeX, submitted to J. In the majority of domestic firms physical distribution functions are usually considered to sales. Thus, it is supposed that essential difference between advertising and marketing operations is not available. The marketing logistics as the mechanism of the marketing channel control is concentrated on integration of marketing and logistics functions while maintaining the great value of products and services. In order to evaluate the marketing logistics effectiveness, it is possible to use the concept of “perfect order”. Most companies produce marketing logistics on a functional basis. In its evolution and functional organization of logistics went through three key periods. The first period is characterized by the distribution of logistics functions among the three most major areas of activity: finance, production, and marketing. The second period is characterized by the release of physical distribution functions in an independent direction. Marketing began to implement forecasting sales of finished products, and all other features already belong to physical distribution. It is worth noting that in the second period, the physical distribution of gains recognized on the financing, production and marketing. The third period is characterized by a large extent for the integrated logistics. It is best formed, and in line with market demands structural construction. Also during this period clearly stood out the strategic and operational levels of decision-making. The CEO and the director of logistics make strategic decisions. The aim of the study was to characterize the features of the subpopulation composition and cytokine-secretory activity of T lymphocytes (Th1, Th17 and Treg) in relation to the concentration of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in the blood of patients with colon cancer.Materials and methods. A total of 26 patients diagnosed with colon cancer were examined. The study material included whole peripheral blood, blood plasma, and supernatants of suspension cultures of mononuclear leukocytes. Lymphocytes isolated from blood were typed by flow cytometry using monoclonal  antibodies. The content of galectin-1 and galectin-3 (in blood plasma) and IFNγ, IL-17A, and TGFβ (in supernatants of mononuclear leukocyte culture in vitro) were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The results obtained were analyzed by statistical methods.Results. In patients with colon cancer, a significant increase in the concentration of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in the blood plasma was found, which was associated with a decrease in the content of CD4+T-bet+ Th1 lymphocytes, CD4+RORC2+ Th17 lymphocytes in the blood and in vitro hyposecretion of IL-17. At the same time, positive correlations were revealed between the concentration of galectin-1 and galectin-3, the content of CD4+FoxP3+ Treg cells in the blood, and the secretion of TGFβ by mononuclear leukocytes in vitro.Conclusion. In colon cancer, increased levels of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in the blood are associated with quantitative deficiency and inhibited secretory activity of effector T lymphocytes and activation of the immunosuppressive functions of regulatory T cells. These results suggest a negative role of galectin 1 and galectin 3 in the mechanisms of regulation of the T cell immune response in colon cancer.

solc-verify: A Modular Verifier for Solidity Smart Contracts

We present solc-verify, a source-level verification tool for Ethereum smart contracts. Solc-verify takes smart contracts written in Solidity and discharges verification conditions using modular program analysis and SMT solvers. Built on top of the Solidity compiler, solc-verify reasons at the level of the contract source code, as opposed to the more common approaches that operate at the level of Ethereum bytecode. This enables solc-verify to effectively reason about high-level contract properties while modeling low-level language semantics precisely. The contract properties, such as contract invariants, loop invariants, and function pre- and post-conditions, can be provided as annotations in the code by the developer. This enables automated, yet user-friendly formal verification for smart contracts. We demonstrate solc-verify by examining real-world examples where our tool can effectively find bugs and prove correctness of non-trivial properties with minimal user effort.Comment: Authors' manuscript. Pathogenic hantaviruses, belonging to the family Hantaviridae, genus Orthohantavirus, are widely spread in many regions of the world and cause hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in Europe and Asia. In the European Russia, the most active HFRS foci are located in the optimum habitat area of natural reservoir of the Puumala virus (PUUV), bank voles (Myodes glareolus), – in the Middle Volga and Cis-Urals. The largest number of cases of HFRS was registered in the Volga Federal District. In 2019, an outbreak of HFRS was registered among the residents of Saratov and the Saratov Region, the number of cases was 2702. Objective of the study was genetic identification of hantaviruses from HFRS patients and rodent carriers and phylogenetic analysis of full-size genomes from natural hosts during HFRS outbreak in the Saratov Region, 2019. Materials and methods. Blood samples of 8 HFRS patients from Saratov and 3 lung samples of bank voles captured in the suburb of Saratov were analyzed using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, followed by sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. Results and discussion. A total of 6 viral RNA isolates from HFRS patients were genetically typed, full-length RNA-isolate genomes were obtained for 3 natural carriers. Our data indicate that PUUV virus was associated with HFRS outbreak in Saratov. Genetic analysis revealed that the virus belonged to RUS lineage of PUUV, related most closely to strains from Udmurtia and Tatarstan and differed from strains circulating in the territory of Bashkortostan and Samara Region

A transgenic cell line with inducible transcription for studying (CGG)n repeat expansion mechanisms

There are more than 30 inherited human disorders connected with repeat expansion (myotonic dystrophy type I, Huntington’s disease, Fragile X syndrome). Fragile X syndrome is the most common reason for inherited intellectual disability in the human population. The ways of the expansion development remain unclear. An important feature of expanded repeats is the ability to form stable alternative DNA secondary structures. There are hypotheses about the nature of repeat instability. It is proposed that these DNA secondary structures can block various stages of DNA metabolism processes, such as replication, repair and recombination and it is considered as the source of repeat instability. However, none of the hypotheses is fully conf irmed or is the only valid one. Here, an experimental system for studying (CGG)n repeat expansion associated with transcription and TCR-NER is proposed. It is noteworthy that the aberrations of transcription are a poorly studied mechanism of (CGG)n instability. However, the proposed systems take into account the contribution of other processes of DNA metabolism and, therefore, the developed systems are universal and applicable for various studies. Transgenic cell lines carrying a repeat of normal or premutant length under the control of an inducible promoter were established and a method for repeat instability quantif ication was developed. One type of the cell lines contains an exogenous repeat integrated into the genome by the Sleeping Beauty transposon; in another cell line, the vector is maintained as an episome due to the SV40 origin of replication. These experimental systems can serve for f inding the causes of instability and the development of therapeutic agents. In addition, a criterion was developed for the quantif ication of exogenous (CGG)n repeat instability in the transgenic cell lines’ genome
