    MODERN ANALYSIS METHODS USE IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE GEOGRAPHIC ORIGIN OF FOOD PRODUCTS

    Food products with controlled geographical origin place are in special demand among consumers because of their specific properties, due to climatic, soil characteristics or other factors. The article provides an analysis of regulatory framework for legal goods protection with an indication of their origin place on the territory of the Russian Federation and in other countries. Existing authentication methods for this type of product are reviewed. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, the authors noted the most significant works aimed at confirming the authenticity of food products’ origin place on the example of honey and meat products, which were carried out in the countries of the European Union, Australia, China, Brazil, South Africa, the USA and other countries. It is shown that the most widespread researches aimed at studying values of isotopic ratios of hydrogen (2H/1H), carbon (13C/12C), oxygen (18O/16O), nitrogen (15N/14N) and sulfur (34S/32S) in compounds contained in products that reflect the distribution of «light» and «heavy» isotopes during biological and geochemical processes within a single region. The analysis of the works aimed at studying the qualitative and quantitative composition of trace elements and rare earth metals (As, B, Ba, Cd, Li, Mn, Pd, Rb, Se, Te, Tl, Dy, U, etc.), as well as research of isotopic relations values of some elements (87Sr/86Sr, 207Pb/206Pb, etc.) in product samples and soils of studied region.     Bases for qudits from a nonstandard approach to SU(2)

    Bases of finite-dimensional Hilbert spaces (in dimension d) of relevance for quantum information and quantum computation are constructed from angular momentum theory and su(2) Lie algebraic methods. We report on a formula for deriving in one step the (1+p)p qupits (i.e., qudits with d = p a prime integer) of a complete set of 1+p mutually unbiased bases in C^p. Repeated application of the formula can be used for generating mutually unbiased bases in C^d with d = p^e (e > or = 2) a power of a prime integer.     Dynamics of photogenerated charge carriers in TiO2 /MoO3, TiO2 /WO3 and TiO2 /V2O5 photocatalysts with mosaic structure

    Titania is a widely used photocatalytic material possessing such advantages as low cost and high reactivity under the ultraviolet light illumination. However, the fast recombination of photoexcited charge carriers limits its application. Herein, we have synthesized original nanomaterials with mosaic structures that exhibited well-defined heterojunctions and new properties. Using SEM, XRD, EPR spectroscopy, photocatalytic measurements, and photoinduced pathphysiological activity of these photocatalysts, we studied the processes of charge carrier accumulation in TiO2 /MoO3, TiO2 /WO3, and TiO2 /V2 O5 under in situ UV illumination with emphasis on the charge exchange between energy levels of these nanosized semiconductors. It is shown that the accumulation of photoinduced charges occurs in two forms (i) filled electron traps corresponding to Ti4+ /Ti3+ levels and (ii) Mo5+ centers, both forms contributing to the photoinduced biocide activity of the samples. This work demonstrates that light exposure of heterostructure photocatalysts with mosaic surfaces produces different types of charge-trapping centers capable of interacting with molecular oxygen yielding peroxo species, which provide long-life light-induced ”self-cleaning” behavior. Such photoaccumulating materials open new opportunities in developing light-driven self-sterilization structures exhibiting a prolonged bactericidal effect up to 10 h after stopping light exposure. © 2020 by the authors.     Revisiting the 'LSND anomaly' II: critique of the data analysis

    This paper, together with a preceding paper, questions the so-called 'LSND anomaly': a 3.8 sigma excess of antielectronneutrino interactions over standard backgrounds, observed by the LSND Collaboration in a beam dump experiment with 800 MeV protons. That excess has been interpreted as evidence for the antimuonneutrino to antielectronneutrino oscillation in the \Deltam2 range from 0.2 eV2 to 2 eV2. Such a \Deltam2 range is incompatible with the widely accepted model of oscillations between three light neutrino species and would require the existence of at least one light 'sterile' neutrino. In a preceding paper, it was concluded that the estimates of standard backgrounds must be significantly increased. In this paper, the LSND Collaboration's estimate of the number of antielectronneutrino interactions followed by neutron capture, and of its error, is questioned. The overall conclusion is that the significance of the 'LSND anomaly' is not larger than 2.3 sigma.Comment: 30 pages, 16 figures, 6 table

    The alleged mistakes in recent papers that reanalyze the backgrounds to the 'LSND anomaly' do not exist. We maintain our conclusion that the significance of the 'LSND anomaly' is not 3.8 sigma but not larger than 2.3 sigma.Comment: 3 page

    Why the paper CERN-PH-EP-2009-015 (arXiv:0903.4762) is scientifically unacceptable

    The paper CERN-PH-EP-2009-015 (arXiv:0903.4762) by A. Bagulya et al. violates standards of quality of work and scientific ethics on several counts. The paper contains assertions that contradict established detector physics. The paper falls short of proving the correctness of the authors' concepts and results. The paper ignores or quotes misleadingly pertinent published work. The paper ignores the fact that the authors' concepts and results have already been shown wrong in the published literature. The authors seem unaware that cross-section results from the 'HARP Collaboration' that are based on the paper's concepts and algorithms are in gross disagreement with the results of a second analysis of the same data, and with the results of other experiments.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figure
