Grafting, at watermelons, could be used to increase resistance to environmental stress, in order to increase resistance to soil pathogens and pests (nematodes, European mole cricket, wire, white or grey worms), also could reduce, during the vegetation period, the pests attack (aphids, thrips, two-spotted spider mite, seedcorn maggotand mining fly). It is presented the situation of the trade, made by Kileler Plants SRL with grafted seedlings of green melons, grafted vegetables from Greece. Plants obtained from grafted melon seedling have not been attacked bynematodes, and the percentage of plants attacked by European mole cricket, wireworms, white worms and gray worms was lower, less than 0.1% of grafted plants have been destroyed by pests, in respect with 4.8% from non-grafted plants. The pest control technology during the vegetation period, is presented, showing that in the case of grafted plants at least one control treatment may be reduced

Cercetări privind influenţa metodei de fertilizare şi irigare a culturii de tomate asupra producţiei

The research of this study was carried out at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine "Ion Ionescu de la Brad" in Iasi. The experience was set up in a semicircular solar cell where the fertilization regime was pursued: fertilization by irrigation water, fertilization with classical fertilizers, fertilization with microorganisms and non-fertilized. The irrigation was dripped. The tomato production showed a difference from the control of 52.43 t/ha, in the fertilized variant, being considered positively very significant. In the case of tomatoes it was found that the fertilization is clearly superior to the other methods used

Simularea CFD a curgerii mustului Ʈntr-un hidrociclon

The hydrocyclone is an equipment for clarification and separation of the solid particles, in suspension in a liquid, based on the density difference. The flow description in a hydrocyclone is much more complex compared to a cyclone for gaseous dispersions, as it appears three liquid-gas-solid components (the appearance of the air core), although the overall separation mechanisms are similar. Over time, many experiments have been carried out to determine the flow in a hydrocyclone. The proposed experimental methods are expensive and difficult to implement in technical terms, being limited to a dispersed liquid phase.Given these deficiencies, in the last two decades, have been developed models of fluid flow dynamics (CFD) based on flow fundamentals. The paper aims is to CFD simulate the flow of must during the working process of a hydrocyclone

The present study was designed to investigate the effect of Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma Koningii on pathogenic fungi such as Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia solani and Pythium sp. The results of the study showed the ability of fungi Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma koningii on the inhibition of pathogenic fungi Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia solani and Pythium sp.in medium PDA as well as the viability of bio-fungi on production of the enzymes cellulase, chitinase and amylase and dissolve phosphorus in the medium, also these fungi have effect on the growth indictorson tomato plant

The Europeanisation of Romanian football: What do UEFA country coefficients reveal?

After the fall of communist regimes, Central and Eastern European states have been encouraged to Europeanise by aligning to Western standards. Even if politics and economy have been primarily concerned, football has often allowed easier and faster contact to occidental cultures than other facets of the civic society did. From a football club perspective, being Europeanized involves the abilities to establish a constant presence in continental cups, as well as to raise performances to higher, international standards. The game itself has strongly Europeanised over the years, with UEFA transforming its two continental inter-club competitions into iconic brands, ā€˜pluralizingā€™ fan attention between domestic leagues and international cups, with the latter ones enjoying increased awareness. While some UEFA member associations have properly mastered the process of Europeanisation, others saw their teams struggle to perform in Europe, which led to the creation of a cleavage between ā€˜elitistā€™ and ā€˜peripheryā€™ countries. Results of Romanian teams in European competitions have fluctuated over the past and a half decade. The purpose of this research is to find out how far Europeanised Romanian football can be currently considered. The research question asks what is the current European dimension of Romanian club football? UEFA Country Coefficients are used as input data for computing statistical observations such as means and standard deviations, which are then compared with a three-levelled center-periphery model designed by Maguire (2001). Results indicate that Romanian football is still far away from the continental ā€˜centerā€™ status it pretends to have. The Discussions section addresses some of the reasons for this distance. The article tries to fill in a research gap as most Europeanisation studies so far have focused on the hardcore concepts of economics, politics, or law, but rather few on social and cultural alignments, such as football (Pyta, 2005)

Among the factors that cause biodiversity loss, human activity in the sensitive ecosystem of forests can be easily monitored. The research carried out during 2016 focused on the study of Heteroptera, superfamily Pentatomoidea fauna in the Baneasa forest, where the natural environment was modified by human intervention through both recreational activity and constructions, insect collection being made by mowing with the entomological net, determining the structure of the systematic groups of the Heteroptera identified in the Baneasa forest, and a characterization of the zoogeographical origin of the species. In the Baneasa forest, the area hardly affected by the human activity, but less researched in terms of Heteroptera fauna, 52species of Pentatomoideawere found, in our opinion 12seem to originate from Manchurian refuge Usuric subcenter, 37 of the Mediterranean arboreal refuge, 2 come from the Caucasian arborealrefuge and one species couldoriginate from the eremial Aralo-Caspic refuge (Turanic)

ā€œMens Sana in Sound Corporationsā€: A Principled Reconciliation Between Profitability and Responsibility, With a Focus on Environmental Issues

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a praised and promoted business behavior nowadays, widely understood as the entrepreneurs’ and managers’ attempts to make amends for some of the excesses that their economic activities bring about, for instance with regard to environmental negative externalities or to public ecological assets under-provision. It is of utmost importance to duly process and profess the CSR concept, one placed at a subtle interplay between business profitability and civic/social responsibility, between economic and ethical/legal realms, since the misrepresentation of economic agents’ benchmark of proper conduct might harm both social landscape and ecological environment. Still, despite its rich occurrence in scholarly literature as well as recurrence in business practices, CSR requires both further and thorough clarification, since many studies postulate that the free-market mindset is rather dismissive of CSR solicitudes. The current research paper fills such a sensitive conceptual gap by explaining why CSR regards are logically compatible with the free markets, with no reason to decree a market failure in this matter. The work takes the form of an analytical research, of an explicitly conceptual nature, based on praxeologically-deductive argumentation, documenting the fundamental compatibility of CSR with the free market order, populated by profit-driven capitalist corporations that, far from being reckless, are disciplined by the rule of law of clearly defined, defended, divestible property rights. As such, the plea adopted the methodological acquis of the Austrian School of law and economics. The main findings of the present study reveal that (a) in economic commonsense, the “profit motive” is the prima facia rule of judiciousness as the care for third-parties’ welfare can be ensured only after own well-being has been secured, while (b) ethically, “social responsibility”, as an extra-contractual duty, does build up on top of, not as trade-off with a robust property rights order
