OASYS: Domain-Agnostic Automated System for Constructing Knowledge Base from Unstructured Text
In recent years, creating and managing knowledge bases have become crucial to
the retail product and enterprise domains. We present an automatic knowledge
base construction system that mines data from documents. This system can
generate training data during the training process without human intervention.
Therefore, it is domain-agnostic trainable using only the target domain text
corpus and a pre-defined knowledge base. This system is called OASYS and is the
first system built with the Korean language in mind. In addition, we also have
constructed a new human-annotated benchmark dataset of the Korean Wikipedia
corpus paired with a Korean DBpedia to aid system evaluation. The system
performance results on human-annotated benchmark test dataset are meaningful
and show that the generated knowledge base from OASYS trained on only
auto-generated data is useful. We provide both a human-annotated test dataset

Substitution of Heavy Complementarity Determining Region 3 (CDR-H3) Residues Can Synergistically Enhance Functional Activity of Antibody and Its Binding Affinity to HER2 Antigen
To generate a biobetter that has improved therapeutic activity, we constructed scFv libraries via random mutagenesis of several residues of CDR-H3 and -L3 of hu4D5. The scFv clones were isolated from the phage display libraries by stringent panning, and their anti-proliferative activity against HER2-positive cancer cells was evaluated as a primary selection criterion. Consequently, we selected AH06 as a biobetter antibody that had a 7.2-fold increase in anti-proliferative activity (IC50: 0.81 nM) against the gastric cancer cell line NCI-N87 and a 7.4-fold increase in binding affinity (K-D : 60 pM) to HER2 compared to hu4D5. The binding energy calculation and molecular modeling suggest that the substitution of residues of CDR-H3 to W98, F100c, A101 and L102 could stabilize binding of the antibody to HER2 and there could be direct hydrophobic interactions between the aromatic ring of W98 and the aliphatic group of I613 within HER2 domain IV as well as the heavy and light chain hydrophobic interactions by residues F100c, A101 and L102 of CDR-H3. Therefore, we speculate that two such interactions were exerted by the residues W98 and F100c. A101 and L102 may have a synergistic effect on the increase in the binding affinity to HER2. AH06 specifically binds to domain IV of HER2, and it decreased the phosphorylation level of HER2 and AKT. Transcriptional Regulator TonEBP Mediates Oxidative Damages in Ischemic Kidney Injury
TonEBP (tonicity-responsive enhancer binding protein) is a transcriptional regulator whose expression is elevated in response to various forms of stress including hyperglycemia, inflammation, and hypoxia. Here we investigated the role of TonEBP in acute kidney injury (AKI) using a line of TonEBP haplo-deficient mice subjected to bilateral renal ischemia followed by reperfusion (I/R). In the TonEBP haplo-deficient animals, induction of TonEBP, oxidative stress, inflammation, cell death, and functional injury in the kidney in response to I/R were all reduced. Analyses of renal transcriptome revealed that genes in several cellular pathways including peroxisome and mitochondrial inner membrane were suppressed in response to I/R, and the suppression was relieved in the TonEBP deficiency. Production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the cellular injury was reproduced in a renal epithelial cell line in response to hypoxia, ATP depletion, or hydrogen peroxide. The knockdown of TonEBP reduced ROS production and cellular injury in correlation with increased expression of the suppressed genes. The cellular injury was also blocked by inhibitors of necrosis. These results demonstrate that ischemic insult suppresses many genes involved in cellular metabolism leading to local oxidative stress by way of TonEBP induction. Thus, TonEBP is a promising target to prevent AKI
Robustness of the intrinsic anomalous Hall effect in Fe3GeTe2 to a uniaxial strain
Fe3GeTe2 (FGT), a ferromagnetic van der Waals topological nodal line
semimetal, has recently been studied. Using first-principles calculations and
symmetry analysis, we investigate the effect of a uniaxial tensile strain on
the nodal line and the resultant intrinsic anomalous Hall effect (AHE). Our
results reveal their robustness to the in-plane strain. Moreover, the intrinsic
AHE remains robust even for artificial adjustment of the atomic positions
introduced to break the crystalline symmetries of FGT. When the spin-orbit
coupling is absent, the nodal line degeneracy remains intact as long as the
inversion symmetry or the two-fold screw symmetry is maintained, which reveal
that the nodal line may emerge much more easily than previously predicted. This
strong robustness is surprising and disagrees with the previous experimental
report [Y. Wang et al., Adv. Mater. 32, 2004533 (2020)], which reports that a
uniaxial strain of less than 1 % of the in-plane lattice constant can double
the anomalous Hall resistance. This discrepancy implies that the present
understanding of the AHE in FGT is incomplete. The possible origins of this

Lichen Striatus Occurring after Allogenic Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplantation in an Adult with Aplastic Anemia
Lichens striatus (LS) is an acquired, self-limiting inflammatory dermatosis that follows the lines of Blaschko. The etiology of the eruption is unknown, but several theories have been proposed with focus on environmental factors, viral infection, cutaneous injury, hypersensitivity, and genetic predisposition. We describe a 19-year-old woman who developed a unilateral linear eruption 17 months after allogenic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. Histopathology revealed features, which were consistent with LS. To the best of our knowledge, our patient is the first case describing the appearance of LS occurring after allogenic stem cell transplantation. We speculate that this condition represents an unusual form of localized, chronic graft-versus-host disease

Molecular Evolution Patterns in Metastatic Lymph Nodes Reflect the Differential Treatment Response of Advanced Primary Lung Cancer
Tumor heterogeneity influences the clinical outcome of patients with cancer, and the diagnostic method to measure the tumor heterogeneity needs to be developed. We analyzed genomic features on pairs of primary and multiple metastatic lymph nodes from six patients with lung cancer using whole-exome sequencing and RNA sequencing. Although somatic single-nucleotide variants were shared in primary lung cancer and metastases, tumor evolution predicted by the pattern of genomic alterations was matched to anatomic location of the tumors. Four of six cases exhibited a branched clonal evolution pattern. Lymph nodes with acquired somatic variants demonstrated resistance to the cancer treatment. In this study, we demonstrated that multiple biopsies and sequencing strategies for different tumor regions are required for a comprehensive understanding of the landscape of genetic alteration and for guiding targeted therapy in advanced primary lung cancer. Orbital-selective confinement effect of Ru orbitals in SrRuO ultrathin film
The electronic structure of SrRuO thin film with thickness from 50 to 1
unit cell (u.c.) is investigated via the resonant inelastic x-ray scattering
(RIXS) technique at the O K-edge to unravel the intriguing interplay of orbital
and charge degrees of freedom. We found that orbital-selective quantum
confinement effect (QCE) induces the splitting of Ru orbitals. At the same
time, we observed a clear suppression of the electron-hole continuum across the
metal-to-insulator transition (MIT) occurring at the 4 u.c. sample. From these
two clear observations we conclude that QCE gives rise to a Mott insulating
phase in ultrathin SrRuO films. Our interpretation of the RIXS spectra is
supported by the configuration interaction calculations of RuO clusters.Comment: 7 pages, 7 figure
Vulval Metastasis from Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Cervix Clinically Presenting as Lymphangioma Circumscriptum
Patients with cervical cancer may develop local recurrence or distant metastasis, and the rate of these events is increased in proportion to the clinical stage. Cutaneous metastasis of cervical cancer is very rare and only a few cases have been reported in Korean literature. It is common at the abdominal wall, vulva, and anterior chest wall and mainly presents as an asymptomatic dermal or subcutaneous nodule, ulcer or plaque. We herein report on an interesting case of vulval metastasis from squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix with an unusual clinical manifestation resembling lymphagioma circumscriptum
