    Search for the decay B+K0K+B^+\rightarrow\overline{K}{}^{*0}K^{*+} at Belle

    We report a search for the rare charmless decay B+K0K+B^+\rightarrow\overline{K}{}^{*0}K^{*+} using a data sample of 772×106772\times10^6 BBˉB\bar{B} pairs collected at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. No statistically significant signal is found and a 90% confidence-level upper limit is set on the decay branching fraction as B(B+K0K+)<1.31×106 \mathcal{B}(B^+\rightarrow\overline{K}{}^{*0}K^{*+}) <1.31\times 10^{-6}.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, submitted to PRD(RC

    Search for B+ -> l+ nu gamma decays with hadronic tagging using the full Belle data sample

    We search for the decay B+ -> l+ nu gamma with l+ = e+ or mu+ using the full Belle data set of 772 x 10^6 BBbar pairs, collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We reconstruct one B meson in a hadronic decay mode and search for the B+ -> l+ nu gamma decay in the remainder of the event. We observe no significant signal within the phase space of E_gamma^sig > 1 GeV and obtain upper limits of BR(B+ -> e+ nu gamma) mu+ nu gamma) l+ nu gamma) < 3.5 x 10^-6 at 90 % credibility level.Comment: Submitted to Phys.     Semi-inclusive studies of semileptonic BsB_s decays at Belle

    We present an analysis of the semi-inclusive decays BsDsX+νB_s \to D_s^- X \ell^+ \nu and BsDsX+νB_s \to D_s^{*-} X \ell^+ \nu, where XX denotes a final state that may consist of additional hadrons or photons and \ell is an electron or muon. The studied BsB_s decays are contained in the 121.4 fb1121.4~{\rm fb}^{-1} Υ(5S)\Upsilon(5S) data sample collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. The branching fractions of the decays are measured to be B(BsDsX+ν)=[8.2±0.2(stat)±0.6(syst)±1.4(ext)]%\mathcal{B}(B_s \to D_s^- X \ell^+ \nu) = [8.2 \pm 0.2 (\text{stat}) \pm 0.6 (\text{syst}) \pm 1.4 (\text{ext})]\% and B(BsDsX+ν)=[5.4±0.4(stat)±0.4(syst)±0.9(ext)]%\mathcal{B}(B_s \to D_s^{*-} X \ell^+ \nu) = [5.4 \pm 0.4 (\text{stat}) \pm 0.4 (\text{syst}) \pm 0.9 (\text{ext})]\%, where the first two uncertainties are statistical and systematic and the last is due to external parameters. The measurement also provides an estimate of the Bs()Bˉs()B_s^{(*)}\bar{B}_s^{(*)} production cross-section, σ(e+eBs()Bˉs())=(53.8±1.4(stat)±4.0(syst)±3.4(ext))pb\sigma(e^+e^- \to B_s^{(*)}\bar{B}_s^{(*)}) = (53.8 \pm 1.4 (\text{stat}) \pm 4.0 (\text{syst}) \pm 3.4 (\text{ext}))\,{\rm pb}, at the center-of-mass energy s=10.86GeV\sqrt{s} = 10.86\,{\rm GeV}.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figures, submitted to Phys.     Observation of X(3872)X(3872) in BX(3872)KπB \to X(3872) K\pi decays

    We report the first observation of B0X(3872)(K+π)B^0 \to X(3872) (K^{+}\pi^{-}) and evidence for B+X(3872)(K0π+)B^+ \to X(3872) (K^{0}\pi^{+}). We measure the product of branching fractions for the former to be {\cal B}(B^0 \to X(3872) (K^+ \pi^-)) \times {\cal B}(X(3872) \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-) = (7.9 \pm 1.3(\mbox{stat.})\pm 0.4(\mbox{syst.})) \times 10^{-6} and find that B0X(3872)K(892)0B^{0}\to X(3872) K^{*}(892)^{0} does not dominate the B0X(3872)K+πB^{0}\to X(3872)K^{+}\pi^{-} decay mode. We also measure {\cal B}(B^+ \to X(3872) (K^0 \pi^+)) \times {\cal B}(X(3872) \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-) = (10.6 \pm 3.0(\mbox{stat.}) \pm 0.9(\mbox{syst.})) \times 10^{-6}. This study is based on the full data sample of 711~fb1^{-1} (772×106BBˉ772\times 10^6 B\bar B pairs) collected at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure

    Evidence for the decay B0->eta pi^0

    We report a search for the charmless hadronic decay B0ηπ0B^0\to\eta \pi^0 with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 694 fb1\rm fb^{-1} containing 753×106753\times10^6 BBˉB\bar{B} pairs. The data were collected by the Belle experiment running on the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance at the KEKB e+ee^+e^- collider. We measure a branching fraction B(B0ηπ0)=(4.11.50.7+1.7+0.5)×107\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\eta\pi^0)=(4.1^{+1.7+0.5}_{-1.5-0.7})\times 10^{-7}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Our measurement gives an upper limit of B(B0ηπ0)<6.5×107\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\eta\pi^0)<6.5\times 10^{-7} at 90\% confidence level. The signal has a significance of 3.03.0 standard deviations and constitutes the first evidence for this decay mode.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables, submitted to Physical Review D(R

    Observation of a new charged charmoniumlike state in B -> J/psi K pi decays

    We present the results of an amplitude analysis of anti-B0 -> J/psi K- pi+ decays. A new charged charmoniumlike state Zc(4200)+ decaying to J/psi pi+ is observed with a significance of 6.2 sigma. The mass and width of the Zc(4200)+ are 4196 +31-29 +17-13 MeV/c^2 and 370 +70-70 +70-132 MeV, respectively; the preferred assignment of the quantum numbers is J^P = 1^+. In addition, we find evidence for Zc(4430)+ -> J/psi pi+. The analysis is based on a 711 fb^-1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider KEKB.Comment: 14 pages, 13 figure

    Measurement of the direct CPCP asymmetry in BˉXs+dγ\bar{B}\rightarrow X_{s+d}\gamma decays with a lepton tag

    We report the measurement of the direct CPCP asymmetry in the radiative BˉXs+dγ\bar{B}\rightarrow X_{s+d}\gamma decay using a data sample of (772±11)×106(772 \pm 11)\times 10^6 BBˉB\bar{B} pairs collected at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. The CPCP asymmetry is measured as a function of the photon energy threshold. For Eγ2.1 GeVE^{\rm{*}}_{\gamma} \geq 2.1~{\rm{GeV}}, where EγE^{\rm{*}}_{\gamma} is the photon energy in the center-of-mass frame, we obtain ACP(BˉXs+dγ)=(2.2±3.9±0.9)%\mathcal{A}_{CP}(\bar{B}\rightarrow X_{s+d}\gamma)= (2.2 \pm 3.9 \pm 0.9) \%, consistent with the Standard Model prediction.Comment: Published at PR

    Measurement of the branching ratio of BˉD()τνˉτ\bar{B} \to D^{(\ast)} \tau^- \bar{\nu}_\tau relative to BˉD()νˉ\bar{B} \to D^{(\ast)} \ell^- \bar{\nu}_\ell decays with hadronic tagging at Belle

    We report a measurement of the branching fraction ratios R(D(*)) of Bbar -> D(*) tau- nubar_tau relative to Bbar -> D()* l- nubar_l (where l = e or mu) using the full Belle data sample of 772 x 10^6 BBbar pairs collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The measured values are R(D)= 0.375 +- 0.064(stat.) +- 0.026(syst.) and R(D*) = 0.293 +- 0.038(stat.) +- 0.015(syst.). The analysis uses hadronic reconstruction of the tag-side B meson and purely leptonic tau decays. The results are consistent with earlier measurements and do not show a significant deviation from the standard model prediction.Comment: Accepted for publication in Phys.Rev.

    Evidence of Υ(1S)J/ψ+χc1\Upsilon(1S) \to J/\psi+\chi_{c1} and search for double-charmonium production in Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) and Υ(2S)\Upsilon(2S) decays

    Using data samples of 102×106102\times10^6 Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) and 158×106158\times10^6 Υ(2S)\Upsilon(2S) events collected with the Belle detector, a first experimental search has been made for double-charmonium production in the exclusive decays Υ(1S,2S)J/ψ(ψ)+X\Upsilon(1S,2S)\rightarrow J/\psi(\psi')+X, where X=ηcX=\eta_c, χcJ(J= 0, 1, 2)\chi_{cJ} (J=~0,~1,~2), ηc(2S)\eta_c(2S), X(3940)X(3940), and X(4160)X(4160). No significant signal is observed in the spectra of the mass recoiling against the reconstructed J/ψJ/\psi or ψ\psi' except for the evidence of χc1\chi_{c1} production with a significance of 4.6σ4.6\sigma for Υ(1S)J/ψ+χc1\Upsilon(1S)\rightarrow J/\psi+\chi_{c1}. The measured branching fraction \BR(\Upsilon(1S)\rightarrow J/\psi+\chi_{c1}) is (3.90±1.21(stat.)±0.23(syst.))×106(3.90\pm1.21(\rm stat.)\pm0.23 (\rm syst.))\times10^{-6}. The 90%90\% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions of the other modes having a significance of less than 3σ3\sigma are determined. These results are consistent with theoretical calculations using the nonrelativistic QCD factorization approach.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. The fit range was extended to include X(4160) signal according to referee's suggestions. Other results unchanged. Paper was accepted for publication as a regular article in Physical Review
