    The Adsorbsi Cuper (II) by Sulfonated Sawdust

    The existence of heavy metals is one of the major problems in the world. Increasing concentration of heavy metals because toxic in the soil, air, and water. Many methods have been developed to decrease concentration of heavy metals from water, for example by precipitation, evaporation, electrochemical and resin's consumption. However, the method is not effective because it requires high cost to operate. Therefore, the research for that materials are cheap and available. Biomaterial is one of the are used to reduce heavy metals from water (biosorption), for example sawdust. In this research, sawdust that used as adsorbent ion copper (II) must be modified by adding a sulfonate group by sulfonation process. The parameters tested are the activation time (sulfonation) and contact time. The optimum conditions of adsorption of Copper (II) by sulfonated sawdust in a single solution occurred at the sulfonation time 120 minutes and adsorption's contact time 60 minutes, the efficiency adsorption is 99.27%. From that conditions, the sulfonated sawdust is tested on the adsorption of Copper (II) in electroplating wastewater. The efficiency adsorption of Copper (II) in electroplating wastewater is 39.03%. This is occured because of the competition uptake's metals in the electroplating wastewater

    Pendiagnosaan Status Besi Berdasarkan Nilai Hemoglobin Pada Anak Wanita Di Perkebunan Teh, Jawa Barat

    Untuk mendiagnosa status besi harus dilakukan tiga macam pemeriksaan biokimia yaitu: trasferin jenuh, ferritin, dan FEP (free erythrocyte phorphyrin). Dua diantara tiga macam parameter ini tidak normal maka disebut defisiensi besi. Tetapi ketiga macam pemeriksaan ini sulit dilakukan di dalam program, karena itu perlu ada suatu teknologi sederhana yaitu dengan hanya pemeriksaan Hb. Berdasarkan penelitian terhadap 209 orang anak Balita dan 107 orang wanita dewasa pemetik teh di Perkebunan Teh, Pengalengan, Bandung, didapatkan bahwa 12.0 g% Hb (Se=83.5%, Sp=83.7%) untuk anak Balita, dan 12.0 g% Hb (Se=86.0%, Sp=68.1%) untuk wanita dewasa, adalah batas yang dinyatakan paling tepat untuk menilai status besi. Diatas atau sama dengan nilai-nilai tersebut seseorang dinyatakan normal, sebaliknya dibawah nilai-nilai tersebut seseorang dinyatakan defisiensi besi. Sedangkan nilai batas anemia untuk Balita adalah 11 g% dan wanita dewasa adalah 12 g%. Berdasarkan kedua macam indikator tersebut diatas (batas defisiensi besi dan batas anemia) akan didapatkan tiga macam status besi, yaitu: (1) anemia defisiensi besi, (2) non anemia tapi defisiensi besi, dan (3) non anemia non defisiensi besi (normal). Nilai-nilai tersebut disarankan untuk dapat dipergunakan dalam pemecahan maupun penilaian program kesehatan masyarakat

    Designing a Mobile Game as Promotion Media for Sambisari Temple

    Sambisari temple is one of the historical tourist destinations in Sleman regency with the potential of its at-traction. By looking at the current problems, the Sleman Regency Tourism Office needs an effective media to reach the teenage as a target market. It aims to increase visits as well as supporting media for attractions of tourist attractions given to potential tourists. The design of this mobile game is intended to promote the Sambisari temple attractions in attracting teenager as a target market. This time, media games are very popular with teenagers, especially through mobile platforms that are also widely used by teenagers in seeking information and entertainment in their spare time. By using qualitative data collection meth-ods, namely through observation, literature study, interviews, surveyss and comparison matrix which are then an-alyzed as the basis for designing mobile games that are suitable for the teenager target market. It is hoped that through the design of this mobile game it will be able to provide increased visits and inform the area of Sambisari Temple Tourism for prospective tourists.     General medical and nutritional practice usually use hemoglobin value for the detection of anemia. Hematocrit test is rarely used, because the cutoff values for each segment of population still remain unclear. This study examined anemia prevalence rates using hemoglobin and hematocrit tests performed in underfive children, adult women and men. These data indicate that hemoglobin and hematocrit screening tests are highly correlated (r = 0.90) and are indeed comparable in detecting anemia in the same population. Using only hematocrit tests, the cutoff values for underfive children is 36 % or equal to 11 g/dl of hemoglobin, for adult women is 38 % or equal to 12 g/dl of hemoglobin, and for adult men is 42 % or equivalent to 13 g/dl of hemoglobin concentration. The hemoglobin and hematocrit tests are equally useful in detecting anemia, and that they can be used interchangeably for anemia screening

    Understanding on the reaction of various air pollutants until today continues to grow, even it is hard to find information about the results of the reaction of various air pollutants standard. The aim of the research was to analyze and to correct of the the various air pollutants as well as to determine the health impact of blacksmith in 2014. The samples consisted of 38 blacksmith from 38 working units in Hulu Sungai Selatan of South Kalimantan. Analytical approach of the examination of air pollutants, blood samples and pulmonary functions of selected workers was applied in this study. The results showed a decrease in lung function and abnormalization workers immune response, as a result of exposure to various air pollutants. It is very difficult to determine and predict the causality of air pollution and health impact since there must be various factors contributing to the the health impact. because it is caused by pollutants singly or may be caused from the various reactions of these pollutants, for that, the correction need on the measurement and analysis of air pollutants that made so far, including its impact on the human body. The benefit of this research as a form of correction to use the Threshold Limit Value (TLV) and measurement of air pollutants, including the impact of the target organ in the human body

    Aplikasi Katalis Naoh Pada Proses Trans Esterifikasi Kopra Menjadi Biodiesel

    Proses konversi minyak kopra (kelapa) menjadi biodiesel dilakukan dalam bejana tertutup dengan menggunakan metanol dan bantuan katalis berupa NaOH pada tahap esterifikasi dan H2SO4 pada tahap transestrifikasi. Faktor yang mempengaruhi konversi minyak kopra menjadi biodiesel adalah jumlah penambahan metanol dan katalis basa yang digunakan. Secara kuantitatif semakin besar jumlah metanol yang digunakan, (15%, 20%,dan 25%) maka semakin tinggi volume biodieselnya. Hal ini terlihat pada penggunaan metanol 25 % menghasilkan volume terbanyak yaitu 82, 87 dan 84 ml.Penggunaan NaOH optimum yaitu 0,75%, dilihat dari menghasilkan volume biodiesel terbanyak, yaitu 87, 84 dan 80 ml
