    QCD Corrections to bsγγb\to s\gamma\gamma and Exclusive BsγγB_s\to \gamma\gamma Decay

    The short distance QCD corrections to bsγγb\to s\gamma \gamma are calculated in the leading logarithmic approximation. The equivalence of operator basis reduction for S-matrix elements by using the equations of motion or by proving a low energy theorem is discussed. We apply the above results to the exclusive BsγγB_s\to \gamma\gamma decay. The branching ratio of this decay is found to be 5×1075\times 10^{-7} in the Standard Model. We also found that QCD corrections modify considerably the ratio between CP-even and CP-odd two-photon amplitudes.Comment: revtex, 15 pages, 2 figures; revised version with corrections from electroweak penguin discussed, the conclusion remains unchange

    An Application of the Moving Frame Method to Integral Geometry in the Heisenberg Group

    We show the fundamental theorems of curves and surfaces in the 3-dimensional Heisenberg group and find a complete set of invariants for curves and surfaces respectively. The proofs are based on Cartan's method of moving frames and Lie group theory. As an application of the main theorems, a Crofton-type formula is proved in terms of p-area which naturally arises from the variation of volume. The application makes a connection between CR geometry and integral geometry

    Surgical Excision of Tumoral Calcinosis of the Distal End of the Clavicle in a Patient With Uremia

    AbstractTumoral calcinosis is an uncommon disease characterized by tumor-like lesions composed of calcium salt. This condition is not a true neoplasm but an imbalance of calcium and phosphorus metabolism resulting from hereditary causes or secondary defects. Medical therapy to balance calcium and phosphorus is the cornerstone of treatment. However, when pain or other compression symptoms occur, surgical excision is indicated. We report a 53-year-old man who presented with a swollen mass over his left shoulder with severe pain and a decreased range of motion for about 6 months. He had a history of chronic renal failure and was on hemodialysis for 20 years. After serial examinations, hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, and secondary hyperparathyroidism were diagnosed. Excision of the mass was performed. The pathological examination results revealed tumoral calcinosis. He was then referred to a nephrologist to adjust the medication, and dialysate was supplied to balance the calcium and phosphorus metabolism. He recovered well without significant complications or recurrence after 5 years of follow-up

    Set voltage distribution stabilized by constructing an oxygen reservoir in resistive random access memory

    In this letter, the instability mechanism of RRAM was investigated, and a technique was developed to stabilize the distribution of high resistance state (HRS) and better concentrate the SET voltage. In previous research, we found that an interface-type switching characteristic was observed on the I-V curve beneath the filament-type switching behavior, owing to the oxygen accumulation effect. In this letter, this interface-type switching characteristic is used to fit the natural distribution of HRS for an analysis of the instability mechanism. According to the results, the reason for the HRS distribution is the accumulation of extra oxygen ions which are left over from a lower degree of oxygen and oxygen vacancy recombination during the reset process. We propose a solution which creates an extra oxygen reservoir by changing the surface topography of the electrode to store the surplus oxygen ions from the reset process, eliminating the accumulation effect, and indeed improving stability.
