Bibliometric analysis on the research of offshore wind power based on web of science
As renewable energy expands rapidly in installed capacity and in
built-over area, constructors and researchers are shifting their
sights from the lands to the seas. Offshore wind power (OWP), or
offshore wind farm, is a typical source of the renewable energy
constructed on the offshore islands or in the oceans. Since the
installed capacity of OWP has become booming since 2000, its
relevant researches also grow substantially. The objective of this
paper is to quantify the research works of OWP and to analyze
their focuses, main producers and high impact literature using
bibliometric method, where the OWP-related core literature in
recent 40 years are sorted out and a visualized analysis closely
concerned terms, contributors on national/regional basis, and
highly cited articles. The results show that researchers have been
largely followed on the grid-connection operations, the frameworks
and the ambient environment change of offshore wind
power. Moreover, the UK has taken the leading position on the
study of OWP at present
A Knowledge Map Study of an Application of a Smart Land Planning Free-Trade Zone and China’s Contribution
The use of a free-trade zone (FTZ) has emerged as a smart land tool in increasing trading, attracting foreign investment, attempting financial openness and conducting other pilot economic reforms, which adds higher requirements for smart spatial planning, smart industry planning and smart management planning. However, no systematic analysis has been performed, making it difficult to provide deeper insights into FTZs. Thus, this study conducted bibliometric and visual analysis to identify the research status, new theories or practices, and potential future directions of FTZs based on 953 publications from the Web of Science Core Collection. The results show that there is a marked rise in the number of FTZ studies since 2013, which is the same year China authorized the first FTZ in Shanghai. China and the United States of America have played a leading role in FTZ research. Finally, the increasing trend in FTZ utilization will remain sizeable during its deepening development. The findings may contribute to a better understanding of FTZs and make some references to smart land-use planning experience and practices around the globe
Responsibility of education in improving medical college students’ ability to prevent and respond to public health emergencies in China – A systematic review
BackgroundThe outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has highlighted the critical importance of sufficient preparedness for public health emergencies. This places higher requirements on the ability of medical staff to deal with such emergencies. Nonetheless, education courses on public health emergencies in China are usually aimed at public health students, and not at all medical college students. Importantly, these medical students will become medical workers who are generally the first-contact personnel and play an irreplaceable role in responding to most public health emergencies. Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen educational courses to enable these students to adequately prevent and respond to public health emergencies.ObjectivesThe purpose of this systematic review was to reveal the current unsatisfactory status of Chinese medical college students’ knowledge and skills in dealing with public health emergencies and their training needs.MethodsWe searched EMBASE, PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Science, CNKI, Wan Fang, and VIP Information Network for all associated original studies written in English and Chinese from the inception of these databases until March 12, 2022.ResultsThis systematic review screened out 15 eligible studies that met the inclusion criteria. These studies demonstrated that Chinese medical college students generally have a low ability to deal with public health emergencies. Most students believe it is essential to master coping with public health emergencies and desire to acquire this knowledge. But the participation rate is low, and only a few students actively seek relevant knowledge.ConclusionThe findings of this review illustrate the importance of improving medical college students’ education to prevent and deal with public health emergencies. It is necessary to improve medical college students’ education in responding to public health emergencies.Systematic Review Registration: PROSPERO, Identifier [CRD42023467374]
Impact of Collaborative Agglomeration of Manufacturing and Producer Services on Air Quality: Evidence from the Emission Reduction of PM<sub>2.5</sub>, NO<sub>x</sub> and SO<sub>2</sub> in China
Industrial agglomeration is a major source of regional economic development and the main pattern enterprises employ after having developed to a certain stage. Industrial agglomeration also affects the emissions of air pollutants in production. Based on provincial panel data for China from 2006 to 2019, this paper introduces the full generalized least squares (FGLS) panel econometrics model. By considering spatial correlation, the potential endogenous problem has been controlled using the instrumental variable and the effects of the co-agglomeration of manufacturing and producer services on three major air pollutants, i.e., SO2, PM2.5, and NOx, have been empirically estimated. The empirical results show that: (1) The agglomeration of manufacturing increases the emission of PM2.5 in the air, while the agglomeration of producer services and the co-agglomeration of manufacturing and producer services reduce it. Moran correlation index test showed that SO2 and NOx had no significant spatial correlation. (2) The agglomeration of manufacturing, the agglomeration of producer services, and co-agglomeration exert the most significant effects on PM2.5 in the air in central and western China. This is probably because of the availability of basic natural resources in these areas. (3) The energy consumption structure mediates the effect of the agglomeration of manufacturing on PM2.5, and human capital mediates the effect of the agglomeration of producer services on PM2.5 emissions. Based on the results, policy suggestions to improve the atmospheric environment during the process of industrial agglomeration are proposed

Impact of Free Trade (Pilot) Zone Establishment on Urban Land Use Efficiency—Empirical Evidence from Cities in China
The establishment of the Free Trade (Pilot) Zone (FTZ) is a new attempt by China to embark on modern sustainable urban planning and governmental territorial management at the development stage of a high-quality economy. As urban lands serve as the limited resource foundation for civic production and livelihoods, enhancing land use efficiency becomes a key measure to facilitate metropolitan economies of high quality. Utilizing panel data from prefecture-level cities spanning from 2005 to 2021, this study constructs a multi-period difference-in-differences model to explore the impact of FTZs on urban land use efficiency (ULUE). The results indicate that FTZs can significantly enhance urban land use efficiency, with a more pronounced policy effect observed in central cities, inland cities, and cities with higher urbanization rates. Furthermore, the FTZs also demonstrate spatial spillover effects on urban land use efficiency. This study holds great significance for relevant government departments in formulating policies to optimize land resource allocation, promote FTZ development, and foster high-quality urban planning and territorial management
Social Determinants of Chronic Prostatitis/Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome Related Lifestyle and Behaviors among Urban Men in China: A Case-Control Study
Purpose. In order to find key risk factors of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) among urban men in China, an age-matched case-control study was performed from September 2012 to May 2013 in Yichang, Hubei Province, China. Methodology. A total of 279 patients and 558 controls were recruited in this study. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire, including demographics, diet and lifestyle, psychological status, and a physical exam. Conditional logistic regression model was used to analyze collected data. Results. Chemical factors exposure, night shift, severity of mood, and poor self-health cognition were entered into the regression model, and result displayed that these four factors had odds ratios of 1.929 (95% CI, 1.321–2.819), 1.456 (95% CI, 1.087–1.949), 1.619 (95% CI, 1.280–2.046), and 1.304 (95% CI, 1.094–1.555), respectively, which suggested that these four factors could significantly affect CP/CPPS. Conclusion. These results suggest that many factors affect CP/CPPS, including biological, social, and psychological factors
Fabrication of Nano-rod Copper-polymer Composites by ĂŁ-Irradiation Route in a Heterogeneous System
Nano-rod copper-polymer composites were synthesized by Îł-irradiation in a heterogeneous solution system under atmospheric pressure at room temperature. The product was characterized by XRD, TEM and IR spectrum, respectively. The investigation showed that a rather low dose rate of irradiation was necessary in the formation of nano-rod composites
Did an Ultra-Low Emissions Policy on Coal-Fueled Thermal Power Reduce the Harmful Emissions? Evidence from Three Typical Air Pollutants Abatement in China
Thermal power generation based on coal-fired power plants has the advantages of stability and controllability and has been the largest source of electricity supply in China. Coal-fired power plants, however, are also accompanied by high carbon emissions and the release of harmful substances (mainly including sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and smoke dust), and are even regarded as the “chief criminal” in terms of air pollution. However, thermal power is also a pioneering industry involved in several environmental regulations and cleaner production techniques before other industries. Evidence of this is China’s ultra-low emissions (ULE) policy on coal-fired power plants, implemented in 2015. To verify this policy’s effect, this study treats ULE as an exogenous impact variable, examining its emissions reduction effect on SO2, NOx, and smoke dust in Eastern and Central China using the difference-in-difference method (DID). The results show that the total emissions of the three pollutants were abated by 0.133%, 0.057% and 0.036% in Eastern, and by 0.120%, 0.035% and 0.043% in Central China at every 1% rise of thermal power generated after ULE. In addition, several other factors can also argue for the promotion of thermal power. Other industries, such as steel or chemical, have proven that they can contribute significant SO2 and NOx emissions. Based on these results, we provide suggestions on synergistic emissions reduction among multiple industries, as well as a discussion on the necessity of implementing ULE in Western China
