Effects of Ambient Air and Temperature on Ionic Gel Gated Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Thin-Film Transistor and Circuits

    No full text
Single-walled carbon nanotube thin-film transistor (SWCNT TFT) and circuits were fabricated by fully inkjet printing gold nanoparticles as source/drain electrodes, semiconducting SWCNT thin films as channel materials, PS-PMMA-PS/EMIM TFSI composite gel as gate dielectrics, and PEDOT/PSS as gate electrodes. The ionic gel gated SWCNT TFT shows reversible conversion from <i>p</i>-type transistor behavior in air to ambipolar features under vacuum due to reversible oxygen doping in semiconducting SWCNT thin films. The threshold voltages of ionic gel gated SWCNT TFT and inverters are largely shifted to the low value (0.5 V for <i>p</i>-region and 1.0 V for <i>n</i>-region) by vacuum annealing at 140 °C to exhausively remove water that is incorporated in the ionic gel as floating gates. The vacuum annealed ionic gel gated SWCNT TFT shows linear temperature dependent transconductances and threshold voltages for both <i>p</i>- and <i>n</i>-regions. The strong temperature dependent transconductances (0.08 μS/K for <i>p</i>-region, 0.4 μS/K for <i>n</i>-region) indicate their potential application in thermal sensors. In the other hand, the weak temperature dependent threshold voltages (−1.5 mV/K for <i>p</i>-region, −1.1 mV/K for <i>n</i>-region) reflect their excellent thermal stability

Gate-Tunable Electron Injection Based Organic Light-Emitting Diodes for Low-Cost and Low-Voltage Active Matrix Displays

    No full text
Low-cost and low-voltage active matrix displays were fabricated by simply patterning gate electrode arrays on a polymer electrolyte (PE)-coated polymer light-emitting diode (PLED). Structurally, a PE capacitor seamlessly stacked on a PLED by sharing a common Al:LiF composite electrode (PEC|PLED). This monolithic integrated organic optoelectronic device was characterized and interpreted as the tunable work function (surface potential) because of the perturbation of accumulated ions on Al:LiF composite electrode by PEC charging and discharging. The modulation of electron injection by the PEC resulted in increases in the electroluminescent brightness, from <100 cd m–2 to >8000 cd m–2, and the external quantum efficiency from <0.025% to 2.4%

Electronically Pure Single-Chirality Semiconducting Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube for Large-Scale Electronic Devices

Single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) networks deposited from a purple single chirality (6,5) SWCNT aqueous solution were electrically characterized as pure semiconductors based on metal/semiconductor/metal Schottky contacts using both complex instruments and a portable device. Both air-stable PMOS (<i>p</i>-type metal-oxide-semiconductor) and NMOS (<i>n</i>-type metal-oxide-semiconductor, resembling amorphous silicon) thin film transistors were fabricated on (6,5) SWCNT in large scale showing the characteristics of fA off current and <i>I</i>ON/<i>I</i>OFF ratio of >1 × 108. CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) SWCNT inverter was demonstrated by wire-bonding PMOS (6,5) SWCNT TFT and NMOS (6,5) SWCNT TFT together to achieve the voltage gain as large as 52

DataSheet_1_Virome analysis of an ectomycorrhizal fungus Suillus luteus revealing potential evolutionary implications.docx

    No full text
Suillus luteus is a widespread edible ectomycorrhizal fungus that holds significant importance in both ecological and economic value. Mycoviruses are ubiquitous infectious agents hosted in different fungi, with some known to exert beneficial or detrimental effects on their hosts. However, mycoviruses hosted in ectomycorrhizal fungi remain poorly studied. To address this gap in knowledge, we employed next-generation sequencing (NGS) to investigate the virome of S. luteus. Using BLASTp analysis and phylogenetic tree construction, we identified 33 mycovirus species, with over half of them belonging to the phylum Lenarviricota, and 29 of these viruses were novel. These mycoviruses were further grouped into 11 lineages, with the discovery of a new negative-sense single-stranded RNA viral family in the order Bunyavirales. In addition, our findings suggest the occurrence of cross-species transmission (CST) between the fungus and ticks, shedding light on potential evolutionary events that have shaped the viral community in different hosts. This study is not only the first study to characterize mycoviruses in S. luteus but highlights the enormous diversity of mycoviruses and their implications for virus evolution.</p

Platinum Nanoparticle Encapsulated Metal–Organic Frameworks for Colorimetric Measurement and Facile Removal of Mercury(II)

Pt nanoparticle (Pt NP)@UiO-66-NH2 composites were synthesized and encompassed the benefits of permanent porosity, high thermal and chemical stability of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), together with the functional behavior of isolated Pt NPs. The PVP-stabilized Pt NPs with the average diameter of 2.48 nm were well dispersed and confined within the framework of UiO-66-NH2. Pt NPs possess highly peroxidase-like activities and make the composites oxidize 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine in the presence of H2O2. Moreover, the specific interaction between Hg2+ and Pt NPs leads to the effective suppression of the peroxidase-like activity of Pt NP@UiO-66-NH2, which endows excellent selectivity for Hg2+ measurement over the interfering metal ions. Based on the colorimetric sensing system, Hg2+ is linearly measured over the range from 0 to 10 nM with a detection limit of 0.35 nM. Moreover, the as-obtained Pt NP@UiO-66-NH2 nanocomposites exhibit high capacity and good selectivity for Hg2+ adsorption, which is successfully applied to treat Hg2+ in water with removal efficiency over 99%. With these findings, Pt NP@UiO-66-NH2 composites can be used to develop a simple and rapid colorimetric sensing system and are utilized as nanoadsorbents for facile removal of Hg2+. This work not only expands the scientific researches on MOFs but also provides practical application in environmental, biological, and relative fields
