STA: Spatial-Temporal Attention for Large-Scale Video-based Person Re-Identification
In this work, we propose a novel Spatial-Temporal Attention (STA) approach to
tackle the large-scale person re-identification task in videos. Different from
the most existing methods, which simply compute representations of video clips
using frame-level aggregation (e.g. average pooling), the proposed STA adopts a
more effective way for producing robust clip-level feature representation.
Concretely, our STA fully exploits those discriminative parts of one target
person in both spatial and temporal dimensions, which results in a 2-D
attention score matrix via inter-frame regularization to measure the
importances of spatial parts across different frames. Thus, a more robust
clip-level feature representation can be generated according to a weighted sum
operation guided by the mined 2-D attention score matrix. In this way, the
challenging cases for video-based person re-identification such as pose
variation and partial occlusion can be well tackled by the STA. We conduct
extensive experiments on two large-scale benchmarks, i.e. MARS and
DukeMTMC-VideoReID. In particular, the mAP reaches 87.7% on MARS, which
significantly outperforms the state-of-the-arts with a large margin of more

The Relationship between Nano-quartz Oxidative Damage and the High Expression of Nuclear Factor NF-ÎşB of Lung Cancer in Xuanwei, Yunnan
Background and objective To research the effect and practicalbility of lobectomy with bronchoplasty and reconstruction of pulmonary artery by minitrauma-technique for lung cancer. Methods We retrospectibely reviewed our experience on 61 cases being lobectomy with bronchoplasty and bronchoplasty with or without video assisted thoracic small incision surgery for lung cancer from July 2005 to June 2009 from Shandong Provincal Hospital and 46 cases simultaneously by routine posterolateral incision. All patients whose bronchus and/or pulmonary artery were involved underwent the operation and experienced the bronchial sleeve/wedge resection or reconstruction of the pulmonary artery. Results All patients were done operation successfully and there were no operative mortality and no occurrence of anastomosis stenosis as well as fistula. The small incisions’ length was from 8 cm-15 cm while the routine posterolateral incision’s length was 25 cm-35 cm. The patients done the operation of small incision had less postoperative shoulder joint dysfunction and had better quality of life compaired to the patients done the routine posterolateral incision. Conclusion Lobectomy with bronchoplasty and reconstruction of pulmonary artery by minitrauma-technique for lung cancer could finished the same work with the traditional thoracic lateral incision and had less trauma, less pain, less recovery time
PET-CT Principles and Applications in Lung Cancer Management
Lung cancer is the most common malignant cancer throughout the world; the positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET-CT) combines both the metabolism information from PET and anatomy details from CT, which is the state of the art. This manuscript introduced the PET-CT and applications in lung cancer diagnosing, staging, and treatment. Several aspects including clinical features, classification, grading and pathology of the lung cancer, principles of PET-CT, and evaluation of diagnosing and treatment had been covered. Detailed demonstration of each cancer subtype, staging criteria, and classification was described. The content will benefit the clinical doctors as well as radiologists
