With the wide promotion of energy saving and environmental protection, the improvement of heating capacity especially at low ambient temperature condition and the working efficiency of room air conditioner become more and more important. Firstly, the purpose of this paper was introduced. Then, the relative techniques like DC inverter, variable volume and gas injection were simply analyzed. Thirdly, a new coupling compressor with these three techniques to satisfy both heating capacity and efficiency demands was indicated. Moreover, the detail design of the coupling compressor was described. At last, the prototype compressor was designed and assembled to validate the effect of this coupling compressor on RAC system. According to the test result, this coupling compressor has significant effect as we expectation when using in RAC system. The maximum heating capacity increasing up to 185% by compare to the base system at -15℃ ambient temperature condition which makes half time consumption at the same room temperature rising. Furthermore, the APF efficiency of the system increased by about 6%

    Get PDF
Multiscale information system is a new knowledge representation system for expressing the knowledge with different levels of granulations. In this paper, by considering the unknown values, which can be seen everywhere in real world applications, the incomplete multiscale information system is firstly investigated. The descriptor technique is employed to construct rough sets at different scales for analyzing the hierarchically structured data. The problem of unravelling decision rules at different scales is also addressed. Finally, the reduct descriptors are formulated to simplify decision rules, which can be derived from different scales. Some numerical examples are employed to substantiate the conceptual arguments

SODs involved in the hormone mediated regulation of H 2 O 2 content in Kandelia obovata root tissues under cadmium stress

Abstract(#br)Cadmium (Cd) pollution in mangrove wetlands has received increasing attention as urbanization expands rapidly. As a dominant mangrove species, Kandelia obovata is highly tolerant to Cd toxicity. Plant hormones and superoxide dismutase (SODs) play critical roles in the response to heavy metal stress in K. obovata roots. Although theirs important influence have been reported, the regulation mechanism between SODs and plant hormones in Cd detoxification by K. obovata roots remains limited. Here, we investigated relationships among SOD, plant hormones, and Cd tolerance in K. obovata roots exposed to Cd. We found that Cd was retained in the epidermis and exodermis of roots, and the epidermis and exodermis had highest hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) content and SOD activity. Similarly, SOD isozymes also exhibited distinct activity in the different parts of root. Overexpressed KoCSD3 and KoFSD2 individually in Nicotiana benthamiana revealed that different SOD members contributed to H 2 O 2 content regulation by promote the activity of downstream antioxidant enzymes under Cd treatment. In addition, assays on the effects of hormones showed that increased endogenous indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) was observed in the cortex and stele, whereas the abscisic acid (ABA) content was enhanced in the epidermis and exodermis in roots during Cd treatment. The results of exogenous hormones treatment indicated that KoFSD2 upregulated under ABA and IAA treatment, but KoCSD3 only induced by ABA stimulation. Taken together, our results reveal the relationship between SODs and plant hormones, which expands the knowledge base regarding KoSODs response to plant hormones and mediating H 2 O 2 concentration under Cd stress

The ongoing corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection, has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths. Cellular entry of SARS-CoV-2, which is mediated by the viral spike protein and ACE2 receptor, is an essential target for the development of vaccines, therapeutic antibodies, and drugs. Using a mammalian cell expression system,a genetically engineered sensor of fluorescent protein (Gamillus)-fused SARS-CoV-2 spike trimer (STG) to probe the viral entry process is developed. In ACE2-expressing cells, it is found that the STG probe has excellent performance in the live-cell visualization of receptor binding, cellular uptake, and intracellular trafficking of SARS-CoV-2 under virus-free conditions. The new system allows quantitative analyses of the inhibition potentials and detailed influence of COVID-19-convalescent human plasmas, neutralizing antibodies and compounds, providing a versatile tool for high-throughput screening and phenotypic characterization of SARS-CoV-2 entry inhibitors. This approach may also be adapted to develop a viral entry visualization system for other viruses. This study was supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (81993149041 for N.X.; 81902057 for Y.Z.; 81871316 and U1905205 for Q.Y.), the National Science and Technology Major Project of Infectious Diseases (No. 2017ZX10304402‐002‐003 for T.C. and No. 2017ZX10202203‐009 for Q.Y.), the National Science and Technology Major Projects for Major New Drugs Innovation and Development (No. 2018ZX09711003‐005‐003 for T.C.), the Science and Technology Major Project of Fujian (2020YZ014001), the Science and Technology Major Project of Xiamen (3502Z2020YJ01), and the Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Foundation (2020A1515010368 for C.S.). 该研究得到了国家自然科学基金、传染病防治国家科技重大专项、福建省应急科技攻关项目和厦门应急科技攻关项目的支持

Reducing Airport Pollution and Consequent Health Impacts to Local Community

    No full text
Final ReportResearch shows that air pollution caused by a large airport could be equivalent to that produced by many hundreds of miles of freeway traffic. Airplane air pollution include ultrafine sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and other toxic particles, which not only affect employees and passengers on airport and residents near airport but could spread to as far as 10 miles and cause health concerns of a significant amount of population. This study looks into the sources of local air pollution from aviation activities, for instance, ground access vehicles to and from the airport, aircraft taxiing at airfield surface, landing and take-off (LTO) cycle of aircraft, airport ground equipment etc. and calculate the air pollution inventory of case study airport by using FAA Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT). The natural extension of this study is to estimate the benefit pools of operational improvements due to increased productivity and implementation of emerging technologies/procedures. A simulation-based scenario analysis will be performed to quantify the emission mitigations. The scenarios that are worthy of study include: electrification of ground support equipment (GSE); deployment of alternative aircraft taxiing systems (AATS), and integrated arrival, departure, and surface (IADS) traffic management.U.S. Department of Transportation 69A355174711
