    It appeared as an initiative of the big transnational companies in their fight for the maintaining and the improvement of their competitive position, Corporative Social Responsibility imposes itself nowadays as an innovative concept, usually associated to “society based on knowledge” that has as a purpose the improvement of the organization’s relationship with the environment (internal and external) and also on gaining some important advantages in connection to the competition. On the other hand, Knowledge management became in the last few years one of the most recent and innovative ways of formation, certification and international cooperation in the field of global consulting, that has as a final target the creation of value and the generation of competitive advantages at an organizational level. The convergence of both concepts towards the final purpose of improving the competitive advantages leads to the conclusion that both Corporative Social Responsibility and Knowledge Management are challenging intercession, of maximum interest, that conditions the evolution of modern society, even if sometimes they merge together, most of the times they complete each other while other times they are in opposition because of the actual state of the research. The paper focuses mainly on the systematical analysis of the concept of Corporative social responsibility at the level of economic entity, because the content of the notion of Knowledge Management is better known within the Conference, and the participants can formulate their own pro and con opinions in the relationship Corporative social responsibility – Knowledge Management.corporate social responsibility, business ethics, knowledge management, stakeholders, commitment, performance, sustainability, competitive advantage.

    ShotgunWSD: An unsupervised algorithm for global word sense disambiguation inspired by DNA sequencing

    In this paper, we present a novel unsupervised algorithm for word sense disambiguation (WSD) at the document level. Our algorithm is inspired by a widely-used approach in the field of genetics for whole genome sequencing, known as the Shotgun sequencing technique. The proposed WSD algorithm is based on three main steps. First, a brute-force WSD algorithm is applied to short context windows (up to 10 words) selected from the document in order to generate a short list of likely sense configurations for each window. In the second step, these local sense configurations are assembled into longer composite configurations based on suffix and prefix matching. The resulted configurations are ranked by their length, and the sense of each word is chosen based on a voting scheme that considers only the top k configurations in which the word appears. We compare our algorithm with other state-of-the-art unsupervised WSD algorithms and demonstrate better performance, sometimes by a very large margin. We also show that our algorithm can yield better performance than the Most Common Sense (MCS) baseline on one data set. Moreover, our algorithm has a very small number of parameters, is robust to parameter tuning, and, unlike other bio-inspired methods, it gives a deterministic solution (it does not involve random choices).Comment: In Proceedings of EACL 201

    Word sense discrimination in information retrieval: a spectral clustering-based approach

    International audienceWord sense ambiguity has been identified as a cause of poor precision in information retrieval (IR) systems. Word sense disambiguation and discrimination methods have been defined to help systems choose which documents should be retrieved in relation to an ambiguous query. However, the only approaches that show a genuine benefit for word sense discrimination or disambiguation in IR are generally supervised ones. In this paper we propose a new unsupervised method that uses word sense discrimination in IR. The method we develop is based on spectral clustering and reorders an initially retrieved document list by boosting documents that are semantically similar to the target query. For several TREC ad hoc collections we show that our method is useful in the case of queries which contain ambiguous terms. We are interested in improving the level of precision after 5, 10 and 30 retrieved documents (P@5, P@10, P@30) respectively. We show that precision can be improved by 8% above current state-of-the-art baselines. We also focus on poor performing queries

    Destructive Privacy and Mutual Authentication in Vaudenay\u27s RFID Model

    With the large scale adoption of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, a variety of security and privacy risks need to be addressed. Arguably, the most general and used RFID security and privacy model is the one proposed by Vaudenay. It considers concurrency, corruption (with or without destruction) of tags, and the possibility to get the result of a protocol session on the reader side. Security in Vaudenay\u27s model embraces two forms, unilateral (tag) authentication and mutual (tag and reader) authentication, while privacy is very flexible and dependent on the adversary class. The construction of destructive private RFID schemes in Vaudenay\u27s model was left open when the model was initially proposed. It was solved three years later in the context of unilateral authentication. In this paper we propose a destructive private and mutual authentication RFID scheme in Vaudenay\u27s model. The security and privacy of our scheme are rigorously proved. We also show that the only two RFID schemes proposed so far that claimed to achieve destructive privacy and mutual authentication are not even narrow forward private. Thus, our RIFD scheme is the first one to achieve this kind of privacy and security. The paper also points out some privacy proof flaws that have been met in previous constructions
