Description of the newly observed Ξc0\Xi_c^{0} states as molecular states

Very recently, three new structures Ξc(2923)0\Xi_c(2923)^0, Ξ(2938)0\Xi(2938)^0, and Ξ(2964)0\Xi(2964)^0 at the invariant mass spectrum of Λc+K\Lambda_c^{+}K^{-} observed by the LHCb Collaboration triggers a hot discussion about their inner structure. In this work, we study the strong decay mode of the newly observed Ξc\Xi_c assuming that the Ξc\Xi_c is a DˉΛDˉΣ\bar{D}\Lambda-\bar{D}\Sigma molecular state. With the possible quantum numbers Jp=1/2±J^p=1/2^{\pm} and 3/2±3/2^{\pm}, the partial decay widths of the DˉΛDˉΣ\bar{D}\Lambda-\bar{D}\Sigma molecular state into the Λc+K\Lambda_c^{+}K^{-}, Σc+K\Sigma_c^{+}K^{-},and Ξc+π\Xi_c^{+}\pi^{-} final states through hadronic loop are calculated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. By comparison with the LHCb observation, the current results of total decay width support the Ξ(2923)0\Xi(2923)^0 as DˉΛDˉΣ\bar{D}\Lambda-\bar{D}\Sigma molecule while the decay width of the Ξc(2938)0\Xi_c(2938)^0 and Ξ(2964)0\Xi(2964)^0 can not be well reproduced in the molecular state picture. In addition, the calculated partial decay widths with SS wave DˉΛDˉΣ\bar{D}\Lambda-\bar{D}\Sigma molecular state picture indicate that allowed decay modes, Ξc+π\Xi_c^{+}\pi^{-}, may have the biggest branching ratios for the Ξc(2923)\Xi_c(2923). The experimental measurements for this strong decay process could be a crucial test for the molecule interpretation of the Ξc(2923)\Xi_c(2923).Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1002.0218 by other author

Kolonientypen: Auf d

Objective. To investigate the cause of misdiagnosis and the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis of thyroid. Methods. Four cases of tuberculosis of thyroid were reported and the related literature was reviewed, as well as the causes of misdiagnosis and the diagnosis and treatment were discussed. Results. Two cases were misdiagnosis as thyroid adenoma and one case as thyroid carcinoma, while one case as missed diagnosis. Part of resection, local excision, and lobectomy was performed, respectively, with all the patients who were treated with antituberculosis drugs and recovered. Conclusion. The atypical manifestation of tuberculosis of thyroid suggested that it is important to reinforce the knowledge of this disease. Cytological examination by fine-needle aspirate biopsy was helpful to the diagnosis. The first choice was treatment with anti-tuberculosis drugs

To evaluate a comprehensive scoring system which combines clinical manifestations of Pierre Robin Sequence (PRS) including severity of breathing difficulties, body weight and preoperative Cormack-Lehane grade, for its correlation with perioperative PRS airway management decision.Forty PRS children were retrospectively recruited after surgery. Specialists examined all subjects and scored for clinical manifestations (1´ - 4´), weight gain (1´- 4´), dyspnea scores (1´- 4´), and Cormack-Lehane grade (1´- 4´). The correlation of the integrated scores and the necessity of endotracheal intubation or laryngeal mask application were analyzed. In addition, the score correlation with postoperative dyspnea and/or low pulse oxygen saturation (SPO2) levels after extubation was determined. In our study every individual patient had a score from 0´ to 16´, while the higher in the numbers represented higher risk of breathing difficulty. All patients with comprehensive scores 13 points required a laryngeal mask assisted airway management and were considered to have difficult airways. Dyspnea after extubation and postoperative low SPO2 occurred among patients who scored over 10 points. In PRS patients, preoperative weight gaining status and severity of dyspnea in combination with Cormack-Lehane classification provide a scoring system that could help to optimize airway management decisions such as endotracheal intubation or laryngeal mask airway placement and has the potential to predict postoperative dyspnea or low SPO2 levels

The aim of this retrospective study is to determine the predictive factors of postoperative dyspnea in infants with Pierre Robin sequence (PRS). Forty children with PRS, who underwent general anesthesia, were retrospectively analyzed. The patient’s physiological status and anesthesiology data were collected accordingly, demographic characteristics including age, gender, height and weight at surgery, weight gain, preoperative airway status, tracheal intubation route, American Society of Anesthesiologists grading and airway Cormack–Lehane classification. Weight gain, dyspnea before the operation, Cormack–Lehane grade distribution showed a significant difference between patients with and without postoperative dyspnea (p = 0.0175, p = 0.0026, and p = 0.0038, respectively). Incompetent weight gain was identified as a predictor (p = 0.0371) of PRS postoperative dyspnea through the binary logistic regression model. In conclusion, this study established an early alerting model by monitoring the weight gain, dyspnea before the operation, Cormack–Lehane grade as potential combinations to predict the risk of postoperative dyspnea for PRS

Silicon/Graphite/Amorphous Carbon as Anode Materials for Lithium Secondary Batteries

    No full text
Although silicon is being researched as one of the most promising anode materials for future generation lithium-ion batteries owing to its greater theoretical capacity (3579 mAh g−1), its practical applicability is hampered by its worse rate properties and poor cycle performance. Herein, a silicon/graphite/amorphous carbon (Si/G/C) anode composite material has been successfully prepared by a facile spray-drying method followed by heating treatment, exhibiting excellent electrochemical performance compared with silicon/amorphous carbon (Si/C) in lithium-ion batteries. At 0.1 A g−1, the Si/G/C sample exhibits a high initial discharge capacity of 1886 mAh g−1, with a high initial coulombic efficiency of 90.18%, the composite can still deliver a high initial charge capacity of 800 mAh g−1 at 2 A g−1, and shows a superior cyclic and rate performance compared to the Si/C anode sample. This work provides a facile approach to synthesize Si/G/C composite for lithium-ion batteries and has proven that graphite replacing amorphous carbon can effectively improve the electrochemical performance, even using low-performance micrometer silicon and large size flake graphite
