The title compound, C18H22N4O2S, contains a substituted pyrimidine ring fused to both a benzene ring and a substituted thioxopyrimidine ring. The pyrimidine and thioxopyrimidine rings adopt distorted chair conformations. In the crystal, adjacent molecules are linked by pairs of N—H⋯S and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds to generate centrosymmetric R 2 2(8) and R 2 2(16) loops, respectively. This combination leads to [100] chains of molecules

Effect of sevoflurane post-conditioning on apoptosis and the expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax in lung tissue of cardiopulmonary bypass dogs

Purpose: To investigate the effects of sevoflurane post-conditioning on the expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax in lung tissues of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) dogs. Methods: Twelve healthy hybrid mongrels were divided into control (C) and sevoflurane postconditioning (S) groups. All dogs were subjected to thoracotomy in order to establish CPB. Ischemiareperfusion was conducted in the left lung of both groups. Thereafter, sevoflurane post-conditioning was given to group S. Femoral artery blood specimens were obtained prior to CPB (T1), as the left pulmonary artery was opened (T2), and 2 h after CPB (T3), for blood gas analysis. Respiration index (RI), oxygenation index (OI), and dynamic lung compliance (Cd) were calculated. Results: When T1 was compared with T2 and T3, their OI and Cd were significantly decreased in both groups, while RI showed the opposite trend (p < 0.05). Values of OI and Cd at T3 in group S were increased significantly, relative to group C, while RI decreased (p < 0.05). There were less lung tissue inflammation and structural disorder at T3 in Group S than in group C. Protein expressions and positive integral of Bcl-2 and Bax, and apoptosis at T2 and T3 in dog lung tissues of both groups were higher than those at T1 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Post-conditioning with sevoflurane is lung-protective in CPB dogs. The underlying mechanism may be based on the promotion of Bcl-2 expression and inhibition of Bax expression, thereby reducing apoptosis in dog lung tissue. Further investigations to determine its suitability for clinical applications in humans are, however, required. AIM: To prove whether real-time three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound with live xPlane imaging is better in observing fetal movements than standard ultrasound imaging. METHODS: 50 healthy women with singleton pregnancies (22-43 years old) at 11 to 14 weeks of gestation underwent real-time 3D ultrasound examination with live xPlane imaging from July 2014 to February 2015. The incidence and frequency of 10 fetal movement patterns in 10 minutes were evaluated, including general movements (GMs), isolated arm movements, isolated leg movements, hiccup, stretching, breathing, startle, jaw opening, isolated head retroflexion, and isolated head anteflexion. The correlation between gestational age and frequency of each fetal movement pattern was analyzed. RESULTS: GM had the highest incidence (100%), followed by startle (84%) and isolated arm movements (68%). Their median frequency was 5 (IQR 3-6), 5 (IQR 1.75-11.5), and 1 (IQR 0-2), respectively. GM (Z = 5.875, P < 0.001) and startle (Z = 5.302, P < 0.001) had significantly higher frequency than isolated arm movements. The other 7 fetal movement patterns had much lower incidence and frequency. The frequency of GM was positively correlated with gestational age (r = 0.360, P = 0.010). CONCLUSION: Real-time 3D ultrasound with live x Plane imaging was shown to be a feasible tool for observing fetal movements

Remote Charging and Degradation Suppression for the Quantum Battery

The quantum battery (QB) makes use of quantum effects to store and supply energy, which may outperform its classical counterpart. However, there are two challenges in this field. One is that the environment-induced decoherence causes the energy loss and aging of the QB, the other is that the decreasing of the charger-QB coupling strength with increasing their distance makes the charging of the QB become inefficient. Here, we propose a QB scheme to realize a remote charging via coupling the QB and the charger to a rectangular hollow metal waveguide. It is found that an ideal charging is realized as long as two bound states are formed in the energy spectrum of the total system consisting of the QB, the charger, and the electromagnetic environment in the waveguide. Using the constructive role of the decoherence, our QB is immune to the aging. Additionally, without resorting to the direct charger-QB interaction, our scheme works in a way of long-range and wireless-like charging. Effectively overcoming the two challenges, our result supplies an insightful guideline to the practical realization of the QB by reservoir engineering

Public auditing with privacy protection in a multi-user model of cloud-assisted body sensor networks.

Wireless Body Sensor Networks (WBSNs) are gaining importance in the era of the Internet of Things (IoT). The modern medical system is a particular area where the WBSN techniques are being increasingly adopted for various fundamental operations. Despite such increasing deployments of WBSNs, issues such as the infancy in the size, capabilities and limited data processing capacities of the sensor devices restrain their adoption in resource-demanding applications. Though providing computing and storage supplements from cloud servers can potentially enrich the capabilities of the WBSNs devices, data security is one of the prevailing issues that affects the reliability of cloud-assisted services. Sensitive applications such as modern medical systems demand assurance of the privacy of the users' medical records stored in distant cloud servers. Since it is economically impossible to set up private cloud servers for every client, auditing data security managed in the remote servers has necessarily become an integral requirement of WBSNs' applications relying on public cloud servers. To this end, this paper proposes a novel certificateless public auditing scheme with integrated privacy protection. The multi-user model in our scheme supports groups of users to store and share data, thus exhibiting the potential for WBSNs' deployments within community environments. Furthermore, our scheme enriches user experiences by offering public verifiability, forward security mechanisms and revocation of illegal group members. Experimental evaluations demonstrate the security effectiveness of our proposed scheme under the Random Oracle Model (ROM) by outperforming existing cloud-assisted WBSN models.N/
