    Goos-H\"{a}nchen-Like Shifts in Atom Optics

    We consider the propagation of a matter wavepacket of two-level atoms through a square potential created by a super-Gaussian laser beam. We explore the matter wave analog of Goos-H\"{a}nchen shift within the framework of atom optics where the roles of atom and light is exchanged with respect to conventional optics. Using a vector theory, where atoms are treated as particles possessing two internal spin components, we show that not only large negative but also large positive Goos-H\"{a}nchen shifts can occur in the reflected atomic beam.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

    DeepCF: A Unified Framework of Representation Learning and Matching Function Learning in Recommender System

    In general, recommendation can be viewed as a matching problem, i.e., match proper items for proper users. However, due to the huge semantic gap between users and items, it's almost impossible to directly match users and items in their initial representation spaces. To solve this problem, many methods have been studied, which can be generally categorized into two types, i.e., representation learning-based CF methods and matching function learning-based CF methods. Representation learning-based CF methods try to map users and items into a common representation space. In this case, the higher similarity between a user and an item in that space implies they match better. Matching function learning-based CF methods try to directly learn the complex matching function that maps user-item pairs to matching scores. Although both methods are well developed, they suffer from two fundamental flaws, i.e., the limited expressiveness of dot product and the weakness in capturing low-rank relations respectively. To this end, we propose a general framework named DeepCF, short for Deep Collaborative Filtering, to combine the strengths of the two types of methods and overcome such flaws. Extensive experiments on four publicly available datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed DeepCF framework

    The Impact of Space Delocalization and Time Delocalization on the CSR Strategy in a Transition Period ——A Case Study of Chinese Small and Medium-sized Export-oriented Apparel Firms

    Since the 1990s, many Chinese small and medium-sized export-oriented firms have begun to accept higher corporate social responsibility (CSR) standards because of factory inspections. In recent years, firms have been facing greater market competition in a period of transition. Different firms have different attitudes toward CSR behavior in same external macroenvironment, and some firms have formed a CSR strategy. To further explore the issue, this paper studied the impact of space delocalization and time delocalization on the CSR strategy of Chinese small and medium-sized export-oriented firms based on social structure theory. Using the case study approach, the results showed the following: (1) space delocalization can stimulate the CSR behavior of firms, although some behaviors are the result of compromise, and CSR strategy will not be initiated because of passive CSR behavior; (2) the stimulation of space delocalization can stimulate endogenous changes, but the cultural background of time delocalization has a far-reaching impact on the formation of CSR strategy

    Spore Powder of Ganoderma lucidum Improves Cancer-Related Fatigue in Breast Cancer Patients Undergoing Endocrine Therapy: A Pilot Clinical Trial

    The fatigue prevalence in breast cancer survivors is high during the endocrine treatment. However, there are few evidence-based interventions to manage this symptom. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of spore powder of Ganoderma lucidum for cancer-related fatigue in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy. Spore powder of Ganoderma lucidum is a kind of Basidiomycete which is a widely used traditional medicine in China. 48 breast cancer patients with cancer-related fatigue undergoing endocrine therapy were randomized into the experimental or control group. FACT-F, HADS, and EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaires data were collected at baseline and 4 weeks after treatment. The concentrations of TNF-α, IL-6, and liver-kidney functions were measured before and after intervention. The experimental group showed statistically significant improvements in the domains of physical well-being and fatigue subscale after intervention. These patients also reported less anxiety and depression and better quality of life. Immune markers of CRF were significantly lower and no serious adverse effects occurred during the study. This pilot study suggests that spore powder of Ganoderma lucidum may have beneficial effects on cancer-related fatigue and quality of life in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy without any significant adverse effect
