THE CHARACTERISTICS OF DOUBLE KICK IN THE AIR DURING ACTIVE AND PASSIVE ATTACK FOR ELITE TAE-KWON-DO ATHLETES
The purpose of this study is to discuss the reaction time and movement time of the double kick in the air (DKA) of the active and passive attacks for elite tea-kwon-do athletes. The experiment takes six male tae-kwon-do athletes (average age: 20.5 yearold; average height: 174.8cm; average weight: 63kg) who won the national match in the past 2 years as the subjects. A high speed camera (120Hz) was used to shoot their movements, which is quantified by a Silicon Coach at the same time. Based on the experimental result, the DKA can be a long, short, or rapid jumping attack movement, whose vertical displacement is large and the rolling angle of the body in the air is large. Therefore, it is suitable for the combo attack after the active attack in the competition

Liquid biopsy genotyping in lung cancer: ready for clinical utility?
Liquid biopsy is a blood test that detects evidence of cancer cells or tumor DNA in the circulation. Despite complicated collection methods and the requirement for technique-dependent platforms, it has generated substantial interest due, in part, to its potential to detect driver oncogenes such as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutants in lung cancer. This technology is advancing rapidly and is being incorporated into numerous EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) development programs. It appears ready for integration into clinical care. Recent studies have demonstrated that biological fluids such as saliva and urine can also be used for detecting EGFR mutant DNA through application other user-friendly techniques. This review focuses on the clinical application of liquid biopsies to lung cancer genotyping, including EGFR and other targets of genotype-directed therapy and compares multiple platforms used for liquid biopsy

Comparative global immune-related gene profiling of somatic cells, human pluripotent stem cells and their derivatives: implication for human lymphocyte proliferation.
Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), including embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced PSCs (iPSCs), represent potentially unlimited cell sources for clinical applications. Previous studies have suggested that hPSCs may benefit from immune privilege and limited immunogenicity, as reflected by the reduced expression of major histocompatibility complex class-related molecules. Here we investigated the global immune-related gene expression profiles of human ESCs, hiPSCs and somatic cells and identified candidate immune-related genes that may alter their immunogenicity. The expression levels of global immune-related genes were determined by comparing undifferentiated and differentiated stem cells and three types of human somatic cells: dermal papilla cells, ovarian granulosa cells and foreskin fibroblast cells. We identified the differentially expressed genes CD24, GATA3, PROM1, THBS2, LY96, IFIT3, CXCR4, IL1R1, FGFR3, IDO1 and KDR, which overlapped with selected immune-related gene lists. In further analyses, mammalian target of rapamycin complex (mTOR) signaling was investigated in the differentiated stem cells following treatment with rapamycin and lentiviral transduction with specific short-hairpin RNAs. We found that the inhibition of mTOR signal pathways significantly downregulated the immunogenicity of differentiated stem cells. We also tested the immune responses induced in differentiated stem cells by mixed lymphocyte reactions. We found that CD24- and GATA3-deficient differentiated stem cells including neural lineage cells had limited abilities to activate human lymphocytes. By analyzing the transcriptome signature of immune-related genes, we observed a tendency of the hPSCs to differentiate toward an immune cell phenotype. Taken together, these data identify candidate immune-related genes that might constitute valuable targets for clinical applications
Environmental Literacy and Teaching Activities of Preschool Teachers in Vietnam
In this study we modeled the environmental literacy of Vietnamese preschool teachers. 324 in-service preschool teachers from Ha Noi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam contributed to the study via an online survey. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the hypotheses of the relationships between environmental knowledge (KN), environmental awareness (AS), decision attitude (DA), personal behavior (PB) and environmental teaching activities (ACT) of these teachers. The results showed that the level of environmental literacy of preschool teachers in Vietnam was moderate with mean score for AS, DA, PB, and ACT ranged from 3.18 to 4.32 on a 5-point Likert-type scale. The results also indicate that the preschool teacher’s KN had a positive impact on AS and DA; PB was influenced by AS, but not by KN or DA. In addition, a correlation analysis showed AS and PB had a positive impact on ACT, while DA had a negative influence on ACT. These findings imply that preschool teachers with certain desirable environmental literacy had more tendencies to implement ACT. Based on the findings, recommendations and implications are provided for policy makers, preschool teachers, and researchers in Vietnam and other countries
Chaotic Microcavity Laser with Low threshold and Unidirectional Output
Here we report lasing action in lima\c{c}on-shaped GaAs microdisks with
quantum dots (QDs) embedded. Although the intracavity ray dynamics is
predominantly chaotic, high- modes are concentrated in the region as a result of wave localization. Strong optical confinement by total
internal reflection leads to very low lasing threshold. Our measurements show
that all the lasing modes have output in the same direction, regardless of
their wavelengths and intracavity mode structures. This universal emission
direction is determined by directed phase space flow of optical rays in the
open chaotic cavity. The divergence angle of output beam is less than 40
degree. The unidirectionality proves to be robust against small deviations of
the real cavity shape and size from the designed values.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figure
