E-waste-word of mouth (EW-WOM) generation: a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fs/QCA)
Purpose
This study aims to examine the asymmetrical relationships among information-sharing desire, moral attitudes, lack of concern, relative advantage, market maven tendency and complexity as the antecedents of E-waste-word of mouth (EW-WOM) generation.
Design/methodology/approach
To obtain a holistic view and the interrelationships between conditions, the configural analysis was conducted to assess the asymmetrical relationships using fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fs/QCA). In addition, construct validity, reliability and symmetrical relationships between antecedent conditions (i.e. exogenous constructs) and outcome conditions (i.e. endogenous constructs) are examined using variance-based structural equation modeling (VB-SEM) technique.
Findings
Results imply that market maven tendency accounts for 86.8% of the sum of the memberships in EW-WOM generation. In total, 11 configurations show sufficiency in constructing EW-WOM generation. The configuration of relativeadvanta*moralattitudes*marketmaventend shows the highest consistency value (0.939684) in producing EW-WOM generation (outcome condition). The ∼relativeadvanta *moralattitudes*complexity*∼lackfconcern with raw coverage of 0.626757 and consistency value of 0.864088 show the most sufficient configuration path in producing the outcome.
Originality/value
Product review and recommendation are easily shared in various communication formats and consumers are prone to disseminate information and their experiences with other market segments. However, the role and phenomena of such viral communication in preventing environmental issues caused by electronic and electrical devices (i.e. E-waste) are not well understood. This study is among a few attempts at understanding consumer's decision-making process to engage in E-waste activities such as the reduction of garbage, recycling, compositing and the reuse of electronic or electrical devices

Variability in quality of white and green beans during in-pack sterilization
Non-uniformity in process quality was investigated during in-pack thermal sterilization of food products. This was accomplished
through the combined application of the Monte Carlo procedure and a reliable mathematical method for process evaluation.
Despite the large coefficients of variation found, the optimum quality process could be designed. The influence of the statistical variability
of heating rate index on the retention of green beans color was studied and an optimum temperature range was found
between 125 and 135 C. The variability in hardness of sterilized white beans, resulting from uncertainties of the combined effect
of heating rate index and initial hardness of beans, was also evaluated by simulation. In this case, an optimum global temperature
range between 120 and 135 C was found, independently of the rotation, F0 value and surface heat transfer coefficient assumed
Deformations of calibrated subbundles of Euclidean spaces via twisting by special sections
We extend the "bundle constructions" of calibrated submanifolds, due to
Harvey--Lawson in the special Lagrangian case, and to
Ionel--Karigiannis--Min-Oo in the cases of exceptional calibrations, by
"twisting" the bundles by a special (harmonic, holomorphic, parallel) section
of a complementary bundle. The existence of such deformations shows that the
moduli space of calibrated deformations of these "calibrated subbundles"

Lineal Trails of D2-D2bar Superstrings
We study the superstrings suspended between a D2- and an anti-D2-brane. We
quantize the string in the presence of some general configuration of gauge
fields over the (anti-)D-brane world volumes. The interstring can move only in
a specific direction that is normal to the difference of the electric fields of
each (anti-)D-branes. Especially when the electric fields are the same, the
interstring cannot move. We obtain the condition for the tachyons to disappear

String Pair Creations in D-brane Systems
We investigate the criterion, on the Born-Infeld background fields, for the
open string pair creation to occur in D-(anti-)D-brane systems. Although
the pair creation occurs generically in both D-D and D-anti-D
systems for the cases which meet the criterion, it is more drastic in
D-anti-D-brane systems by some exponential factor depending on the
background fields. Various configurations exhibiting pair creations are
obtained via duality transformations. These include the spacelike scissors and
two D-strings (slanted at different angles) passing through each other. We
raise the scissors paradox and suggest a resolution based on the triple

Super Jackstraws and Super Waterwheels
We construct various new BPS states of D-branes preserving 8 supersymmetries.
These include super Jackstraws (a bunch of scattered D- or (p,q)-strings
preserving supersymmetries), and super waterwheels (a number of D2-branes
intersecting at generic angles on parallel lines while preserving
supersymmetries). Super D-Jackstraws are scattered in various dimensions but
are dynamical with all their intersections following a common null direction.
Meanwhile, super (p,q)-Jackstraws form a planar static configuration. We show
that the SO(2) subgroup of SL(2,R), the group of classical S-duality
transformations in IIB theory, can be used to generate this latter
configuration of variously charged (p,q)-strings intersecting at various
angles. The waterwheel configuration of D2-branes preserves 8 supersymmetries
as long as the `critical' Born-Infeld electric fields are along the common

Effective Potential on Fuzzy Sphere
The effective potential of quantized scalar field on fuzzy sphere is
evaluated to the two-loop level. We see that one-loop potential behaves like
that in the commutative sphere and the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism of the
radiatively symmetry breaking could be also shown in the fuzzy sphere system.
In the two-loop level, we use the heavy-mass approximation and the
high-temperature approximation to perform the evaluations. The results show
that both of the planar and nonplanar Feynman diagrams have inclinations to
restore the symmetry breaking in the tree level. However, the contributions
from planar diagrams will dominate over those from nonplanar diagrams by a
factor N^2. Thus, at heavy-mass limit or high-temperature system the quantum
field on the fuzzy sphere will behave like those on the commutative sphere. We
also see that there is a drastic reduction of the degrees of freedom in the
nonplanar diagrams when the particle wavelength is smaller than the

Supersymmetric Boost on Intersecting D-branes
We study the effect of the Born-Infeld electric field on the supersymmetric
configuration of various composite D-branes. We show that the generic values of
the electric field do not affect the supersymmetry but, as it approaches
keeping the magnetic field finite, various combinations of the
magnetic fields allow up to 8 supersymmetries. We also explore the unbroken
supersymmetries for two intersecting D-strings which are in uniform or relative
motion. For a finite uniform Lorentz boost, 16 supersymmetries are guaranteed
only when they are parallel. For an infinite one, 8 supersymmetries are
preserved only when both the D-strings are oriented to the forward or backward
direction of the boost. Under a finite relative boost, 8 supersymmetries are
preserved only when the intersecting angle is less than and the
intersecting point moves at the speed of light. As for an infinite relative
boost, 8 supersymmetries are preserved regardless of the values of the
