The aim of this study produces mathematics instructional materials, on linear equations and inequalities one variable with inquiry methods that valid, practical, and effective criteria in terms of student achievement and self-confidence. This study is developmental research. It is adapted from Reiser & Dempsey models. The research through several phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instructional materials is consists of syllabi, lesson plans, student sheet activity, and daily tests. The results showed that is the valid criteria valid, practical, and effective. Validity of development product is determined by the expert validation, the practicality is determined by the assessment of teachers, and students, while the effectiveness in terms of student achievement and self-confidence. Achievements of students achieving an average of 76.9412 beyond the KKM 70, while the confidence of students from 55.88% to 82.35% on minimal good category

The bark of Albizia lebeckioides and Albizia falcataria have been examined for their chemical constituents. A. lebeckioides has yielded the steroidal ketone, stigmasta-4,22-dien-3-one, and a triterpene alcohol as the major neutral components. A. falcataria has yielded a similar triterpene and fatty ester as its major constituents. The toxicity of the compounds was evaluated in bioassay against termites. The results showed that lupenone and stigmastadienone were toxic ioNeotermes dalbergiae species. In contrast these compounds were less toxic to Cryptotermes cynocephalus species

Scientific writing contains a simple program of computerization penjulan batik, using penginputan goods through production and sales process, which will then be automatically saved in a database and will exit the output display will be received by the customer or buyer as an invoice or receipt and view report required by the batik entrepreneurs. Scientific writing is supported by Visual Basic Programming Language Version 6.0 through the sales process and penginputan makes computerized data processing becomes more efficient and accurate and can provide inventory information available

Task Runtime Prediction in Scientific Workflows Using an Online Incremental Learning Approach

Many algorithms in workflow scheduling and resource provisioning rely on the performance estimation of tasks to produce a scheduling plan. A profiler that is capable of modeling the execution of tasks and predicting their runtime accurately, therefore, becomes an essential part of any Workflow Management System (WMS). With the emergence of multi-tenant Workflow as a Service (WaaS) platforms that use clouds for deploying scientific workflows, task runtime prediction becomes more challenging because it requires the processing of a significant amount of data in a near real-time scenario while dealing with the performance variability of cloud resources. Hence, relying on methods such as profiling tasks' execution data using basic statistical description (e.g., mean, standard deviation) or batch offline regression techniques to estimate the runtime may not be suitable for such environments. In this paper, we propose an online incremental learning approach to predict the runtime of tasks in scientific workflows in clouds. To improve the performance of the predictions, we harness fine-grained resources monitoring data in the form of time-series records of CPU utilization, memory usage, and I/O activities that are reflecting the unique characteristics of a task's execution. We compare our solution to a state-of-the-art approach that exploits the resources monitoring data based on regression machine learning technique. From our experiments, the proposed strategy improves the performance, in terms of the error, up to 29.89%, compared to the state-of-the-art solutions.Comment: Accepted for presentation at main conference track of 11th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computin

Penghapusan Remisi Bagi Koruptor dalam Perspektif Undang-undang Nomor 12 Tahun 1995 Tentang Pemasyarakatan

Corruption in Indonesia has been categorized as an extraordinary crime (extraordinary crime) for devastating, not only the country's financial and economic potential of the country, but also has destroyed the pillars of socio-cultural, moral, political and legal order or national security. With the incredible title, then appeared the discourse for the removal of remission for corruption, so it is then reap the pro and contra among the people. As for the identification of the problem in writing this article the author limit as to whether the abolition of remissions for the corruptors is in conformity with the existing laws, or actually even contrary to human rights. The method used in this study using normative juridical approach, the research done by basing on literature data or secondary data. Based on these results, that the abolition of remission to criminals is not in accordance with the rules of the applicable legislation, especially Regulation No. 12 Year 1995 on Corrections, particularly clause 14 subsection (1) points i, which states that "Prisoners are entitled to a reduction in criminal past (remission)". Therefore, if the Government intends to provide a more powerful deterrent effect against criminal act of corruption, then the Government should first rule synergize legislation governing the granting remission to prisoners, so there is no overlapping policies

This article discusses the extent to which pesantren in a rural area finances its activities and operates social programs by revitalizing Islamic philantropic scheme. By way of a case study in a village at Kulonprogo District-Yogyakarta, where a small Muhammadiyah pesantren, which is Darul ‘Ulum, has been operating since the 1930s, this article suggests that the ability of this pesantren in engaging the villagers in religious and social activities has made this pesantren survives until now. Unlike other pesantrens, notably in urban areas, pesantren Darul ‘Ulum functions as an educational institution that provides an opportunity to thus students coming from low-income households, including orphanages to study. This paper asks to what extent a small pesantren in a rural area can resolve its budget constrains, how community supports and the culture of giving can, or cannot, underpine pesantren's social and educational activities, and what sort of challenges for this pesantren to incease its institutional capacity

Islamic Charities and Dakwah Movements in a Muslim Minority Island: the Experience of Niasan Muslims

This paper discusses the roles of Islamic charitable organisations in running dakwah activities on Nias Island. By Showing how Islamic charitable organizations have attempted to create welfare programmes under the dakwah scheme, it investigates whether inclusive attitudes towards beneficiaries with different religious backgrounds have characterised Islamic social activism in ‘non-Islamic' regions. As a Muslim minority area, post-disaster Nias Island has increasingly become a place where Islamic charitable associations and dakwah movements from outside Nias have attempted to deliver aid as well as to assist the communities, notably the Muslim minority population. As the outer islands and isolated regions have become an arena of contestation for religious missionaries, Muslim preachers to a certain extent should compete with Christian missionaries and indigenous religious groups. By way of a case study, this paper also examines the way in which Islamic charitable associations, negotiate between serving the Muslim community through dakwah, and serving humanity at large through social welfare activities
