The February 11, 2006 historical marker covers Country and Gospel music recordings in the Andrew Jackson Hotel, the important artists who recorded at the hotel, and the influence of illustrator Vernon Grant on Rock Hill.     The C. Harris Williams Collection consists of newspaper clippings and photographs pertaining to the 1952 Rock Hill Centennial Celebration. C. Harris Williams (1912-1960) was a Rock Hill, SC resident, owner of the Williams Gulf Station in Rock Hill, and was a member of the Brothers of the Brush. Most of the photographs in the collection are of Mr. Williams and fellow members of the Brothers of the Bush participating in the 1952 Rock Hill Centennial events and include images of skits, parades, Rock Hill citizens, and Rock Hill Main Street and Downtown. There is also an original photograph of a cotton scene on Main Street in Rock Hill in the early 1900s (possibly 1911).     This collection consists of the records produced by and for the Rock Hill Chapter of the Degree of Pocahontas which is the female auxiliary of the Improved Order of Red Men. The records in the collection consists of a ledger containing minutes, rosters, and other information, correspondence, applications, reports, and checks related mostly to the Rock Hill, SC female auxiliary, Tepee of Alletah Council, No. 17, Degree of Pocahontas, but some of the records also relate to the Wigwam of Calumet Tribe, No. 36, Improved Order of Red Men, Rock Hill Chapter. Both of the organizations were created solely for white men and women and remained segregated until 1974.     This collection consists of photographs of the Rock Hill area from the early 20th century taken mostly by Marion Carlisle (1859-1940) who operated the Carlisle photography Studio in Rock Hill SC and several taken by his daughter Ora Lee Carlisle (1902-1969). The photographs include several scenes of the 1901 flood, 1903 train wreck, 1916 flood, and the 1926 tornado that struck Rock Hill.
