In this work, we present a reliable combination of homotopy perturbation method and Elzaki transform to investigate some nonlinear partial differential equations. The nonlinear terms can be handled by the use of homotopy perturbation method. The proposed homotopy perturbation method is applied to the reformulated first and second order initial value problem which leads the solution in terms of transformed variables, and the series solution is obtained by making use of the inverse transformation. The results show the efficiency of this method. Keywords: Homotopy perturbation methods, Elzaki transform nonlinear partial differential equations

Analytical Solution for Telegraph Equation by Modified of Sumudu Transform "Elzaki Transform"

In this work modified of Sumudu transform [10,11,12] which is called Elzaki transform method ( new integral transform) is considered to solve general linear telegraph equation, this method is a powerful tool for solving differential equations and integral equations [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Using modified of Sumudu transform or Elzaki transform, it is possible to find the exact solution of telegraph equation. This method is more efficient and easier to handle as compare to the Sumudu transform method and variational iteration method. To illustrate the ability of the method some examples are provided.   Keywords: modified of Sumudu transform- Elzaki transform - Telegraph equation - Partial Derivative

The aim of this study is to solve some linear and nonlinear partial differential equations using the new integral transform "Elzaki transform" and projected differential transform method. The nonlinear terms can be handled by using of projected differential transform method; this method is more efficient and easy to handle such partial differential equations in comparison to other methods. The results show the efficiency and validation of this method. Keywords: Elzaki transform, projected differential transform method, nonlinear partial differential equations

In this paper, we apply modified version of double Sumudu transform which is called double Elzaki transform to solve the general linear telegraph equation. The applicability of this new transform is demonstrated using some functions, which arise in the solution of general linear telegraph equation. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the Broselow™ Pediatric Emergency Tape (BT) for estimating weight in an Omani paediatric population at a tertiary care hospital. Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted during July 2015. The electronic medical records of Omani outpatients <14 years old attending the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Muscat, Oman, between July 2009 and June 2013 were reviewed for recorded height and weight data. The BT Version 2002A was used to predict weight based on actual height measurements. Predicted weight measurements were then compared with actual weight to determine the accuracy of the estimation. Results: A total of 3,339 children were included in the study, of which 43.5% were female and 56.5% were male. The mean age was 6.4 ± 3.1 years and the mean height was 93.2 ± 23.5 cm. The mean actual weight was 13.9 ± 6.7 kg while the mean BT-predicted weight was 14.4 ± 6.9 kg. The BT-predicted weight estimations correlated significantly with actual weight measurements (intraclass correlation coefficient: 0.97; P <0.001). A Bland-Altman analysis indicated that the BT performed well when estimating weight among Omani children, with an overestimation of only 0.5 kg for the entire cohort. Conclusion: The BT was found to be an effective tool for estimating weight according to body length in an Omani paediatric population. It should therefore be considered for use in emergency situations when actual weight cannot be determined

Is there an association between vitamin D and risk of stroke?: a North Indian study

Background: Vitamin D deficiency is present in India in epidemic proportions despite plenty of sunshine. Reduced plasma 25(OH) D concentrations as a diagnostic marker of vitamin D deficiency have been in past decade associated with several well-established risk factors for ischaemic stroke, such as arterial hypertension, thrombosis, atherosclerosis. The aims and objectives of this study was to compare the serum 25(OH) D levels between the first ever acute stroke patients and healthy controls. Methods: A cross-sectional, case control study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital in New Delhi situated in north India. Serum 25‑hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH) D) levels in 85 patients of ischemic stroke, presenting within 7 days of onset of stroke was measured and was compared with 70 age and gender matched controls. Results: The mean age was 61.02±11.58 years and 58.63±11.28 years in cases and controls respectively. Females constituted 37.6% of the total number of cases and 43.4% of the controls. The age and gender-distribution were comparable between the cases and controls. The median value (IQR) of serum 25(OH) vitamin D level was 7.94 ng/mL (4.59-14.00) in the cases and it was 8.82 ng/mL (5.59-14.70) in the controls. The difference between the serum 25(OH) vitamin D levels of the two groups was not found to be statistically significant. Conclusions: There is a high prevalence of biochemical hypo-vitaminosis D in apparently healthy Indians of all age and sex groups despite adequate sunshine. There is no association between low vitamin D levels and stroke
