The use of information and communication technology to overcome problems at intersections has been widely used. However, these technologies are still focused on managing traffic and road users and has not been used to access information about the condition of traffic control devices. In the City of Tegal, the assessment of the traffic signal devices is conducted using manual system which requires large number officers. Therefore, a new system which can inform the traffic signal devices condition automatically is needed. In this study, an automatic information and monitoring system for traffic signal devices, called SIMAPILL, was designed by using SMS Gateway. This system can give information related to the condition of traffic signal equipment in real time.
