    REMAJA DALAM PERSPEKTIF PENDIDIKAN ISLAM

    ABSTRACTThis study base on the behavior of young people which is tends to behave in the negative deeds.  One cause by the lack of religious and moral education  given by the parent. This study is qualitative research using interview, observation, and supporting documents (documentation), dan review of literature. The result show that the behaviors of young people in Samraasi village, the regency of Konawe generally is quite alarming. Various immoral acts reflect the deviant behavior, such as against the elderly, drinking alcohol, gambling and promiscuity. In order to prevent and solve that negative behavior, there are alternative strategies, giving religious education held by family and school, moral education. Besides it, it could increase many positive activities in sports and arts, etc. Such efforts can work effectively when supported and carried together teachers, parents and the members of community it selves.Key Words: Young People, Islamic Education, Morality.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh gejala perilaku remaja yang cenderungmengarah pada perilaku negatif. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah minimnya pendidikan agama dan pembinaan moral yang dilakukan oleh orang tua. Penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode interview (wawancara), observasi, dan dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa perilaku remaja di DesaSamraasi Kec. Kapoiala Kabupaten Konawe menunjukkan gejala-gejalayang cukup memprihatinkan. Berbagai tindakan amoral yang mencerminkan perilaku menyimpang seringkali terjadi seperti melawan orang tua, minumminuman keras, berjudi dan pergaulan bebas. Olehsebab itu, untuk mencegah dan menanggulangi permasalahan tersebut ditempuh berbagai strategi alternatif, yakni melalui pendidikan Islam dalam keluarga, pembinaan moral. Disamping itu juga bisa dilakukan peningkatan aktifitasaktivitas positif, seperti olahraga dan kesenianserta upaya-upaya lain untuk menghindarkan remaja berperilaku negatif. Upaya tersebut dapat berhasil dengan baik apabila didukung dan dilakukan secara bersama-sama oleh Guru, orang tua dan komponen masyarakat lainnya. Kata Kunci: Remaja, Pendidikan Islam, Moral

    AbstractThis study examines the professionalism of teachers of Islamic education in fostering moral values of students in SMAN 5 Kendari. The results showed that the professionalism of teachers of Islamic education at SMAN 5 Kendari enough to contribute to the formation of a noble character of learners, especially in the school environment. The picture of noble character of students at SMAN 5 Kendari when viewed from the aspect of discipline in following the activities at school, harmony among learners, consistent in performing worship, and mutual help and responsibility in carrying out the tasks assigned by the teacher, has been able to be actualized in in the school environment although most still seem just a mere formality. Professional efforts made by the Islamic Education teachers in fostering the noble character of students at SMAN 5 Kendari is adaly, weekly, and yearly program.Key words: Islamic education, profesionalism of teacher, Islamic moral guidanceAbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji profesionalisme guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam pembinaan akhlak mulia peserta didik di SMAN 5 Kendari. Adapun gambaran akhlak mulia peserta didik di SMAN 5 Kendari apabila ditinjau dari aspek kedisipilinannya dalam mengikuti kegiatan di sekolah, kerukunan antar peserta didik, keistiqamahan dalam melaksanakan ibadah, dan tolong-menolong serta tanggung jawab dalam melaksanakan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru, sudah mampu diaktualisasikan di dalam lingkungan sekolah walaupun sebagian besar masih terkesan sekadar formalitas belaka. Upaya profesional yang dilakukan oleh guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam membina akhlak mulia peserta didik di SMAN 5 Kendari yaitu membuat program harian, mingguan, dan tahunan.Kata kunci: Profesionalisme guru, pendidikan Islam, akhlak mulia

    A Regularized Graph Layout Framework for Dynamic Network Visualization

    Many real-world networks, including social and information networks, are dynamic structures that evolve over time. Such dynamic networks are typically visualized using a sequence of static graph layouts. In addition to providing a visual representation of the network structure at each time step, the sequence should preserve the mental map between layouts of consecutive time steps to allow a human to interpret the temporal evolution of the network. In this paper, we propose a framework for dynamic network visualization in the on-line setting where only present and past graph snapshots are available to create the present layout. The proposed framework creates regularized graph layouts by augmenting the cost function of a static graph layout algorithm with a grouping penalty, which discourages nodes from deviating too far from other nodes belonging to the same group, and a temporal penalty, which discourages large node movements between consecutive time steps. The penalties increase the stability of the layout sequence, thus preserving the mental map. We introduce two dynamic layout algorithms within the proposed framework, namely dynamic multidimensional scaling (DMDS) and dynamic graph Laplacian layout (DGLL).     Pembinaaan Toleransi Antar Umat Beragama Perspektif Pendidikan Agama Islam Bagi Remaja Kota Kendari

    This research is an effort to reveal the portrait of religious tolerance among religious perspectives of Islamic religious education perspective for adolescents in Kendari Barat of Kendari. The main questions addressed in this study are (1) how to foster interfaith religious tolerance among youths in Kendari? and (2) How Islamic education is perceived by teenagers in Kendari. To address the questions, the researcher employs several research methods. The method used in data analysis is descriptive method in which the authors provide descriptive on the subject of researchers based on variable data obtained from the group of subjects studied. The findings of this study indicate that, (1) in fostering the attitude of tolerance among adherents for adolescents in of Kendari, among others, fostering adolescents not to question differences of beliefs to other religions, fostering adolescents not to disturb other followers when running religious services, fostering adolescents not to force adherents of other faiths to convert to Islam and foster adolescents in order not to force followers of other faiths to follow religious activities. While (2) Islamic education for teenagers by parents in Kendari, among others, adolescents always appreciate the elderly even though he has different religion, be gentle in family life and community, help others in need though the person is another religion, guide teenagers so as not to criticize other faiths and always build relationships with followers of other religions

    Exploring the relationship between volunteering and hospice sustainability in the UK:A theoretical model

    Aim: To explore the relationship between volunteering and the sustainability of UK voluntary hospices.Methods: A narrative literature review was conducted to inform the development of a theoretical model. Eight databases were searched: CINAHL (EBSCO), British Nursing Index, Intute: Health and Life Sciences, ERIC, SCOPUS, ASSIA (CSA), Cochrane Library and Google Scholar.Results: A total of 90 documents were analysed. Emerging themes included the importance of volunteering to the hospice economy and workforce, the quality of services, and public and community support. Findings suggest that hospice sustainability is dependent on volunteers; however, the supply and retention of volunteers is affected by internal and external factors.Conclusions: A theoretical model was developed to illustrate the relationship between volunteering and hospice sustainability. It demonstrates the factors necessary for hospice sustainability and the reciprocal impact that these factors and volunteering have on each other. The model has a practical application as an assessment framework and strategic planning tool

    Comparison of Short-Term Estrogenicity Tests for Identification of Hormone-Disrupting Chemicals

    The aim of this study was to compare results obtained by eight different short-term assays of estrogenlike actions of chemicals conducted in 10 different laboratories in five countries. Twenty chemicals were selected to represent direct-acting estrogens, compounds with estrogenic metabolites, estrogenic antagonists, and a known cytotoxic agent. Also included in the test panel were 17β-estradiol as a positive control and ethanol as solvent control. The test compounds were coded before distribution. Test methods included direct binding to the estrogen receptor (ER), proliferation of MCF-7 cells, transient reporter gene expression in MCF-7 cells, reporter gene expression in yeast strains stably transfected with the human ER and an estrogen-responsive reporter gene, and vitellogenin production in juvenile rainbow trout. 17β-Estradiol, 17α-ethynyl estradiol, and diethylstilbestrol induced a strong estrogenic response in all test systems. Colchicine caused cytotoxicity only. Bisphenol A induced an estrogenic response in all assays. The results obtained for the remaining test compounds—tamoxifen, ICI 182.780, testosterone, bisphenol A dimethacrylate, 4-n-octylphenol, 4-n-nonylphenol, nonylphenol dodecylethoxylate, butylbenzylphthalate, dibutylphthalate, methoxychlor, o,p′-DDT, p,p′-DDE, endosulfan, chlomequat chloride, and ethanol—varied among the assays. The results demonstrate that careful standardization is necessary to obtain a reasonable degree of reproducibility. Also, similar methods vary in their sensitivity to estrogenic compounds. Thus, short-term tests are useful for screening purposes, but the methods must be further validated by additional interlaboratory and interassay comparisons to document the reliability of the methods

    Seasonal change in the daily timing of behaviour of the common vole, Microtus arvalis

Seasonal effects on daily activity patterns in the common vole were established by periodic trapping in the field and continuous year round recording of running wheel and freeding activity in cages exposed to natural meteorological conditions. 2. Trapping revealed decreased nocturnality in winter as compared to summer. This was paralelled by a winter reduction in both nocturnal wheel running and feeding time in cages. 3. Frequent trap checks revealed a 2 h rhythm in daytime catches in winter, not in summer. Cage feeding activity in daytime was always organized in c. 2 h intervals, but day-to-day variations in phase blurred the rhythm in summer in a summation of individual daily records. Thus both seasonal and short-term temporal patterns are consistent between field trappings and cage feeding records. 4. Variables associated with the seasonal change in daily pattern were: reproductive state (sexually active voles more nocturnal), age (juveniles more nocturnal), temperature (cold days: less nocturnal), food (indicated by feeding experiments), habitat structure (more nocturnal in habitat with underground tunnels). 5. Minor discrepancies between field trappings and cage feeding activity can be explained by assuming increased trappability of voles in winter. Cage wheel running is not predictive of field trapping patterns and is thought to reflect behavioral motivations not associated with feeding but with other activities (e.g., exploratory, escape, interactive behaviour) undetected by current methods, including radiotelemetry and passage-counting. 6. Winter decrease in nocturnality appears to involve a reduction in nocturnal non-feeding and feeding behaviour and is interpreted primarily as an adaptation to reduce energy expenditure in adverse but socially stable winter conditions.

    Mammography screening: views from women and primary care physicians in Crete

    Background: Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women and a leading cause of death from cancer in women in Europe. Although breast cancer incidence is on the rise worldwide, breast cancer mortality over the past 25 years has been stable or decreasing in some countries and a fall in breast cancer mortality rates in most European countries in the 1990s was reported by several studies, in contrast, in Greece have not reported these favourable trends. In Greece, the age-standardised incidence and mortality rate for breast cancer per 100.000 in 2006 was 81,8 and 21,7 and although it is lower than most other countries in Europe, the fall in breast cancer mortality that observed has not been as great as in other European countries. There is no national strategy for screening in this country. This study reports on the use of mammography among middleaged women in rural Crete and investigates barriers to mammography screening encountered by women and their primary care physicians. Methods: Design: Semi-structured individual interviews. Setting and participants: Thirty women between 45–65 years of age, with a mean age of 54,6 years, and standard deviation 6,8 from rural areas of Crete and 28 qualified primary care physicians, with a mean age of 44,7 years and standard deviation 7,0 serving this rural population. Main outcome measure: Qualitative thematic analysis. Results: Most women identified several reasons for not using mammography. These included poor knowledge of the benefits and indications for mammography screening, fear of pain during the procedure, fear of a serious diagnosis, embarrassment, stress while anticipating the results, cost and lack of physician recommendation. Physicians identified difficulties in scheduling an appointment as one reason women did not use mammography and both women and physicians identified distance from the screening site, transportation problems and the absence of symptoms as reasons for non-use. Conclusion: Women are inhibited from participating in mammography screening in rural Crete. The provision of more accessible screening services may improve this. However physician recommendation is important in overcoming women's inhibitions. Primary care physicians serving rural areas need to be aware of barriers preventing women from attending mammography screening and provide women with information and advice in a sensitive way so women can make informed decisions regarding breast caner screening

    Recent experiments have confirmed the importance of nuclear quantum effects even in large biomolecules at physiological temperature. Here we describe how the path integral formalism can be used to describe rigorously the nuclear quantum effects on equilibrium and kinetic properties of molecules. Specifically, we explain how path integrals can be employed to evaluate the equilibrium (EIE) and kinetic (KIE) isotope effects, and the temperature dependence of the rate constant. The methodology is applied to the [1,5] sigmatropic hydrogen shift in pentadiene. Both the KIE and the temperature dependence of the rate constant confirm the importance of tunneling and other nuclear quantum effects as well as of the anharmonicity of the potential energy surface. Moreover, previous results on the KIE were improved by using a combination of a high level electronic structure calculation within the harmonic approximation with a path integral anharmonicity correction using a lower level method.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure
